- Gearing up in Season 2 of the War Within is going to be very different thanks to a whole suite of changes for the mythic+ keystone system. You'll get better rewards earlier on in the system, you'll be able to gather crests much easier and faster, and the dungeons themselves are getting nerfed quite significantly. Let's go through all of the dungeon changes coming in patch 11.1 and season 2.

It's not the dungeons or affixes that make M+ intolerable, it's other players who complain if 1 little thing isn't done the way they think it should be done.
And the quitting before the instance is complete. I think they should get a 150 rating penalty if they leave before its over AND not be able to do a M+ for 24 hours minimum.
That's why I do it with guild members, we all know we don't know mechanics and are going in blind so wiping a few times till we figure it out is no problem

I am one of the people complaining like that.
I only complain when people don't kick though. I can see they haven't kicked since the start of the dungeon and it's the 3rd wipe due to avoidable damage.
I don't care about your dps or your use of flasks and pots. They don't matter unless you're pushing 3.4K and over and anyone who says they do they don't understand how numbers work. 3% more damage is never the reason why you didn't time that +10 Stonevault. It's people not kicking the fear and not stunning the totem guy or single targeting the totems and the healer keeps dying because they're trying to save everyone and isn't keeping themselves alive.
I've never left a key first and I don't plan to, back in Shadowlands we timed a +17 NW with the healer afking from just before the first pull with a monk tank a warrior and a mage and no paladin to even off heal as I was playing my DH... But for the love of Azeroth, use your interrupt and I'm chill to push through even doing a key without a healer.
I would like to see a change to the Timewalking cache. Either code the reward to roll against what your character has in its bags so no duplicates or give us a weekly token like BRD to buy an item.
I love soloing the delve system. I group up delves if I'm feeling social and scratches that m+ itch
Yeah the deplete will be relevant for about 2-5% of the M+ player base, irrelevant for 95-98% of the pug player base.
No - and it's an issue.
Most deplete/leave are below 12 and it SHOULD be relevant for those PUG.
Plus it's more than 5% of people that will do +12 since you have the new achievement around 3K and high rio for achievement too
Add to that, m+ will be easier in S2.
@@semikolondev No, the current m+ count would tell you that, people don't like timers as people want to time it and there is no penalty if you leave a key and make the experience worse for new people trying to get into it.. also from personal experience A LOT of friends quit the game because of it and also the amount of keys being finished in the last couple of months, depletion could maybe be good for higher end they like the challenge anyway.. for the people below that just want a good time why are they being punished while only the top 1% get rewarded lol?
The timed nature of M+ and the derth of rewards if you completed it outside of the timer is what has always made M+ something I don't enjoy and avoid. Perhaps I missed you talking about it, but the increased rewards when you don't make the timer is the biggest reason for me to give it a go in S2. It is demoralizing to go through a mid level key, he'll even the lower ones at the beginning of the season, and miss the timer and get essentially nothing for your efforts.
But the key floor is +12, so anyone actually below that still has to deal with key leavers depleting theirs and then dealing with rebuilding or sitting in ques where people wont take anything but meta specs because tier lists have turned everyone into experts on the game.

Uninstall, I mean, do you even want to play the game or just treat the game like social media? Go fucking clear content once, you might enjoy it. If you don't uninstall and move on.
Delves killed M+. its not that its easier, its because delves don't have toxic players. instead of nerfing keys, they should address the community. I've done keys since SL and the M+ community has always been a complete crap shoot on toxic pugs. I did some keys when TWW S1 opened and the community interactions were so bad I decided against doing anymore. By abstaining from doing M+ I've found the game is much more entertaining instead of being stressed with some rando's with a a fence post in their ass
Delves are fun indeed, and I also prefer delves over m+ at the moment. So I'm very excited about s2! That being said, I would like to add one thing:

Sure one thing affects the other, but the existence of an attractive alternative does not mean that the alternative is the culprit here. The _reason_ is because the thing itself needs to improve in order to compete. Delves are great, so M+ should be made even greater. And I think the devs are finally starting to catch on to that.
Yeah, people are douche bags. For one nobody has patience anymore for two people will complain over any little thing. Soon as something goes a little sideways people leave the group. They need to incentivize staying in a group and punish people who grief others. The only way that a group should forfeit a dungeon is if there is a vote and majority wins. Otherwise, if you leave, then your character should be unusable for an hour. That would be the first offense the second offense, your character is unusable for two hours. More than three offenses, your character should be banned for 24 hours Tanner more offenses your character gets deleted because at that point you’re just not learning and you’re a detriment to the game.

@@ShadowKingRecks I mean if you've bricked a group ten times or more after other disciplinary action then at that point it's like they are just trying to troll the game and it's players who WANT to figure it out and enjoy themselves. I don't think they should be coddled and a clear message needs to be made that this type of behavior won't be tolerated and result in the harshest of penalties IF someone takes it to this level of abuse. Other than that I would suggest a possible alternative to be something like at least a 6 month penalty that would make the character unable to group whatsoever.

Not sure if these changes will fix it, tbh. It seems more of a shuffling around to make it look like there were greater changes than there actually were......

Well somehow everyone misses the point that M0 will be about 25% harder (to adjust for champ gear) thus there will be a crossover point (feel free to calculate where) where 25% + 7%/ level becomes less that 0% + 10%/ level.
Not that M0 is hard but lets see how this plays out
M0 aren't really hard anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue.
@@semikolondevyou’re missing the point. Zero may be easy, but if all higher keys scale off it, that makes all higher keys actually harder in season 2.
Where is the info on that 25% increase from? I haven’t seen a percentage attached to the baseline increase on any of the update notes.
Where did you get that 25% increase in difficulty? I only see in the blue post saying it will be increased in difficulty but not specifying how much of an increase
M0 will be harder. they mentionned it. Not sure by how much. so depending on the number, M+ might not be as easier as some people hope, since it scales from M0. As of today, M+ is quite hard on the PTR but it might change ...
My bigest problem is time I need to work
instead of everything being around item level raid gear can just passively be better for raiding by adding a passive stat only on that gear that only works in raid and gets stronger over time, and makes you stronger. that way you can move from M+ to raids and you won't be as strong but still can play the raid and catch up and no start from the bottom. and if you raid you can just move over to M+ without issues.
Good, let people who just want to get their 10s done do so without nearly as much headache and wasted time.

Mythic+ will never be too easy because they scale. There will *always* be a key level even the best players in the world will not be able to complete.
The most common complaint is not that something is too easy… but that it is too easy for whatever it rewards.
Sure, you will always get a few goofballs that complain about low reward, easy activities. But they are pretty rare.
I wish they would bring back the larger mix of different affixes like we had in Legion and BFA. I think it's incredibly boring as hell to just have the same boring affixes week to week.
The Delve change is both a nerf and a buff. They are getting their short term rewards nerfed but long term rewards buffed. You wont be able to get loaded up with heroic gear from Delve maps in just a couple weeks anymore.
That never happened in s1. I would usually 1 map in 2 weeks and i was farming delves daily. This is much better u are guaranteed to get 1 map per week plus u can get guilded crests if u are good enough to do 11/s
@@profesorz642 It definitely did happen but not for all payers. Blizzard has noted the wide swing of RNG for maps(thats why they are adding bad luck protection for maps in S2). I had at least 8 pieces of heroic gear from Delve maps before season 1 even started. One of my guildies found a map in every Delve he did while another only found 1 total after doing 4 bountiful every day for 2 weeks.
Thats the point. This is much better than rng crap in s1 plus we can now craft mythic gear as solo players due to guilded crest being rewarded which was almost science fiction before@
@ lol did you actually read my original remark? I never stated it was a bad change, only that it was a nerf for the short term and a buff for long term. I'm looking forward to the delve changes.

i dont think this really addresses much to be honest. The problem with M+ is how players relate to them and interact with each other when they are ran. Until Blizzard finds a way to address the toxicity around people running M+, numbers around it will simply not change. There are two forces at odds with M+, you need people to run them but running them with anyone you dont already know is a nightmare. Mostly because by now there are 3 groups of people using the random grouping, The people that are new and have to use the Custom grouping option, the people who are constantly toxic and need to find a new group each week because they get kicked out or decide it is the world that is the problem and the people that have a group they run with and are leveling up alts. Groups 1 and 2 are and will always be at odds with each other, so you have a really high chance of ending in a group that is going to be a nightmare, if you are using the grouping feature.

Absolutely NOT. *We reserve the right to leave if; toxic players...or players who've obviously bought their IO scores & have no clue about mechanics. We can't be 'locked in' to finish, in these situations.
This is such a bad idea. I can't wait for you to complain about you were held hostage because "X" player didn't want to leave the group after mass pulling the dungeon. Or how you were kicked and lost rating after asking the tank what their route was.
I love that S2 mythic+ will be easier! M+ is basically all I do in the game. I don't like raiding, it's too much of a time suck and annoying to be obligated to play at a specific time. The M+ level squish was not fun to me and made season 1 really difficult. The S2 changes are welcome, all I want are the dungeon portals!
Also, I would love to see time walking be coupled with previous achievements like Challenge Mode Gold from WoD or Mists.
if only pvp got the same amount of work to improve approachability for new/inexperienced players. having to face blizzcon champions at 2k rating is awful
How about an update that makes mythic plus easier to get into and learn for people that don’t normally run it. The barrier to entry is a problem for many.
thats exactly what this change does, in theory, its making it so low keys are more rewarding so people run them, learning the mechanics. If it works or not we will see
@ I mean, I get it or I should say I get the theory behind it. But it’s really kind of bullshit because even mythic plus one is still tough especially for somebody that doesn’t normally run keys. I remember early on in the season me and a couple of guildies grouped up to run a +2. We were all around 600 level give or take this was like back in October of last year. We had two pugs who were DPS. I was tanking on a demon hunter. The other guy was healing as a resto Shaman. That shit was pretty rough. I remember we barely got by and we were talking about this while on discord.
Granted I was pretty green, but I have been tanking for many many years so I just kept the group kind of small while still moving at a decent pace. The telegraphing for the different abilities is terrible. I type of the fact that the rewards were crap that was just insult to injury.
That's why normal, heroic and mythic 0 difficulty dungeons exist. For new people to learn. Where is the barrier? Learning curve is as gradual as you can get it.
If you struggle with your +2 then go mythic 0.
@@AndersARLarsen no one wants to run 0's first off. Secondly even +1's are WAY harder than Heroics. Maybe 0's show people the ropes but are still a big jump from Heroics. Heroics now are a cakewalk and if your NOT a regular Mythic plus runner then ANYTHING Mythic is like a big spike in difficulty.
@@leonardceres9061 People run mythic 0s all the time, so that's just false. And the jump to that from hc is not big. There's also no such thing as +1 like you say.
If you think the jump is too big and you're struggling with a +2 or m0 then maybe it's not something for you?
more its Delvers jumping in to +7s when they havnt done M+ before that because thats where their next gear is and because they wont do earlier levels, they fuck up in 7s
im actualy quite shocked that they let us gear up even faster in s2. S1 was already a dumpster fire with how much faster you acquired Hero track gear, that you have to afterwards rely on the vault or mythic raid to get upgrades. After a bit more than one month in after playing s1, i had 3 chars fully decked out in hero track with 1-1 1/2 hrs playtime per day besides weekends and no guildies boosting me. I was never done with a season so fast, it was realy disappointing to be honest. With those changes, i probably will not even need a full month sub to be done. WoW slowly turning into diablo when it comes to gearing up is absolute horrible.

This will make no difference. Key's depleting needs to be gone from the start, and m+ needs to be in random group finder. Then I might play.
I might consider M0s early on if we get followers for it in the future. Oh, timewalking too. For now, I'll stick with delves.
So raid will still be faster to gear.
You can clear 8 bosses with gear in 2-3 hours time. That is 2-4 m+ runs in the same amount of time. M+ is still less efficient than raid for gear. Unless you play a LOT.
If part of the problem with mythics is not running the lower level, have it be locked until they do. With delves I have to run 7 8 and 9 to unlock 10. It's a account wide. Would that not work for m+?
I know what you mean, there is a lot I wish was just account wide or at least warband wide. Wish I could easily swap characters when I feel like and continue quests that I started cause redoing them is a drag
that would be a good step, but one factor is completing it just once isn't enough. There is also the factor its easy to unintentionally be carried in low mythic, maybe one person didn't kick but another person covered them, or the healer healed through the damage, until it gets to the tipping point of it being obvious they screwed up its easy for someone to just coast and blame 'not enough healing' .
Honestly I would kind of like mythic ranks to be less focused on 'more hp and damage' and more 'less room for error', less time to do mechanics as opposed to it doing more damage for example and make it so that at any level it punishes you for not doing it.
Having the Affix of More Hp/more dmg, when they already increase per key level is why i dont do M+. Its just a basic lame addition. Nothing creative about it.
Blizzard is try to do a bait and switch tactic .I this it's an illusion to only look easier..but it's not ...I'm sticking with delves Played this game for a decade and before mythic plus was even invented..it was quest dungeon set raid..there are now so many styles of play you need to play all of the modes to get what you want too complicated

This video needs chapters. I checked the mats tab and had zero f&cks to give about M+, was only curious about Delves, but the constant prattle about keys caused me to lose interest.
Just a couple of points, Blizz seems to be trapped into constantly having to release new expansions to feed the need to increase IL per piece, nothing new there really, but and its a big BUT, by doing so they endlessly make all the other content almost pointless, unrewarding, and a waste of the players time. I played WOW for 14 years straight from vanilla launch, i enjoyed it A LOT, I tried New World when it came out because I prefer skill based combat, not tab target ( I know there is lots of skill in wow, but you need to try having to aim with a bow, leading the target etc, sooo satisfying when you get it bang on ) there were pros and cons to new world, it never felt like home as wow does though, but 1 thing they absolutely nailed was gear progression in a way that ALL appropriate level content stayed relevant , once you have achieved an I level, every drop for that slot will never be lower than that level! You mentioned open world dropping the same level as current 584, that is utterly useless, by now every one will have between 50 to 100k of iron from siren isle, 30 secs after levelling an alt they have a full set of 584 with no doubt some 593/597 bits dropped and stored in warband tab by your alts. Its no good creating new open world if its not worth the time completing it. and PVP gear, when did Blizz get sooooo sodding lazy they cant be bothered to give it ANY set bonuses, not even PVP only bonuses other than the dual trinket boost? I'm glad they made Mythic easier, I'm glad they helped the raids, but it really does feel like the only thing Blizz gives a shit about is those two groups of players, the rest of you, open world, or PVP players, ye you can play the way you like , but they have made dam sure your progression is painfully slow in comparison ??
Mythic needs a far better progression system instead of their infernal stop watch. It made worse regular Dungeon runs due to their instance of Rush Culture sadly.
I personally have always been put off by mythics. The thing thats puts me off is its not the game play experiance im looking for, I dont understand why it has to be a Challenge... I want to roll in drop some fat stacks of dps kill hundreds of mobs and maybe have move about a bit fo ra boss. At the moment, your just constantly moving and watching cool down timesrs getting ready for that next interupt, its not fun.
I have 30+ skills why is it always the interupt one. Half the time in mythics its not relaxing or fun... its challengeing and damn I play games to relax not to challenge my self. Dropp all this moveing from Aoe crap and intrupting or you wipe, just let us face roll a shit tone of minons like its diablo 3.

As a long time player who doesn't do dungeons or mythic, I would prefer to see changes for regular gameplay. Not the jerk generating dungeons. I refuse to do dungeons with real people ever again. Look at what is going on in the US. That is the same thing you face in Dungeons. Hate - Bullying . Get enough in real life.

Still 10 currently on the PTR. At least no 15 sec death penalty there this time.
they haven't fixed anything important yet... people leaving keys and downgrading it making you waste more time trying to get it back up hasn't been fixed there is no punishment whatsoever, they kinda were trying to implement one and abandoned it, loot is still extremely RNG have to do the same dungeon 100 times to maybe get your BiS, only top end players are being rewarded with no key depletion, YES they did fix somethings such as the peril affix (which idk why the left it on the game if nobody likes it) and also the affixes being introduced to a later m+, but most of the time the bad interactions are with players, they always want the META even for low end dungeons leaving at the first wipe or disconnecting , no changes in great vault which is often disappointing... should not give you repeated items yet it does, many things have to be fixed and players have been giving feedback over and over but it's just small changes that are done.

Just play mythic plus … learn some shit and enjoy the game it’s an mmo for god sake. Some pugs are great with great people. People complain about toxicity lol. Put I truly haven’t seen much. If you’re getting yelled at then damn you might be playing the wrong game. Mythic plus is pretty easy if you have basic knowledge of how things work. People think they can just go into a dungeon and simply mash keys. This isn’t Wrath.
remove timer, smooth out affix and monster scaling, exclusive cosmetic rewards for pushing as high as possible - fixed
i got my mount this seasob and litteraly got ZERO loot from this garbage luck based system, And no lie i also had a 17 trinket run (with in total over 30 trinkets...) so every loot i got was trinkets for 17 items straight. This shit system needs to go and be swapped for a token based system. Last xpac i had the same garbage with a bag full of cloaks and rings. The loot luck is horrendous and halts progress and kills fun.
As a fury warrior I got 3 single hand weapons in a row and said "DONE"....I have had shit RNG since the game started and absolutely do not agree with it.
@@ShadowKingRecks Yeah its really taking away the fun. noone wants to wake up after reset to fins 4 more trinkeyts in the vault or get no usable loot from m+ all season or get a another trinket from the weekly quests. maby a build in "has looted this"filter will help as that at least filters out double items but that doesnt help much when theres 20 trinkets in the seasonal loot table.
for about a decade now i think they should just move everything to a token based system, no direct loot just tokens and vendors. not as in raid tokens but more like use valorstones as currency for loot. say 1500 is a item of your choice at the vendor.
this accomplishes 2 things. Less loot overload making gear feel rewarding again, making you get bis items for your work, and it makes blizzard stop making utter garbage items everyone is upset to get. noone like getting a crit/vers item as they are the worst. Versatility should be moved to pvp gear exclusively.
@@pino_de_vogel That would be fun...and we know how blizzard feels about fun, they will smell it and hunt it down and destroy every bit of it and replace it with something convoluted and painful husk of what we actually want and tell us it's a better system.

@@ShadowKingRecks Facts sadly. remeber them stating how they wanted to make this xpac to be more suited for the olde playyers that dont ahve as much time. we enede upwith delves that toook longer as a instance and instances on M+ that took longer then before and classic timewalking which is worse then all the newer instances time wise... not to mention the rapid pace of content so you never have time off lol.

It's good but it's also missing the point. Dungeon needs to allow different route and fun. Repeating the same thing is boring. Dungeon are too linear.

Give me unique content, stop scaling things. I don’t want to play one piece of content at 18 different difficulties and I don’t want one piece of gear that scales 5 tiers and 50 ilvl. Back in the day I was so excited to see The Staff of Infinite Mysteries, Nathrezim Mindblade and Hammer of Atonement, and no one asked me “what upgrade track and rank and was it vault?”, it was just implied cause I found something uniquely defined in the world. I want more unique items and challenges that overcoming or obtaining feels great about without being burnt out because it was recycled 15 times by the time I got there.
But all in all super excited for 11.1. /endRant
I still think its a trash system, even with the changes... need to eliminate the timers in some way to stamp out the elitism

A M+ scaling reduction to 7% means absolutely nothing until Blizzard tells us the new Mzero baseline difficulty change percentage. ??? + 7% = ???

If you actually kept up to date with WoW news, you'd know that the video was about M+ before even clicking on it because M+ is the only system that has been announced to be getting sweeping changes.
This is awesome, i play an MMO to do stuff with other players, i dont wanna be pidgeon holes into delve.
kinda sad about these m+ changes.. whats the point of trying and having high gear and score if anyone can just get it so easy now? TWW S1 was amazing, because it rly rewarded actually good players and allowed you to set yourself apart from the rest. Now bad players are (once again) going to think they're rly rly good, because their char has a high iLv... its rly saddening to me.
And even shittier players think their ilvl means anything
Season 1 has been complete misery. Way too many dispells/decurse, cc required to even clear big pulls due to the amount of casts/tank busters etc. so shamans were necessary due to there kit. Scaling being hard enough to warrant people only taking meta specs even more so than ever. Gearing from M+ being so miserably slow and unrewarding that you could go a whole day and only get a couple hundred gold and some crests.
Making M+ easier is nothing but a net win. It's an infinitely scaling system. People who want difficulty push higher keys. Making it easier for the majority for the gearing portion of M+ can only be a good thing. There will still be meta comps etc. but the fact that people were feeling like they were 'forced' into doing meta comps for anything lower than a 12, shows how flawed the difficulty scaling in S1 was.
Yes alot of it comes down to the community being a toxic cesspool but with how difficult S1 is in comparison to what rewards you actually get, it has enabled a toxic and meta comp seeking mentality from even +7's and above.
Well at least there'll be more players to sign up for keys, bad players or not.
