When Tony asked if I could still call you... it may have been the most heartfelt moment Of the 30 years the show

0:33 "can i call you anytime?" that's so sweet and touching. Mike got a long great with Chris's dad.

Tony sounds like a wonderful guy- his comments were obviously heartfelt and genuine. Not easy to make the hard-hearted Francesa tear up.

it is very hard to make mike francesa cry, it's just for some reason he sounds like an angry guy.

I remember listening to this live and it made me tear up and coming across this again so many years later it made me choke up again. I never missed a show very very rarely I grew up listening to these guys and they were the best. Nobody can touch these two guys.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree. The Dog's mannerisms were nearly identical. I don't recall Tony ever calling back on the air again. Was saddened when I heard of his passing earlier this year.

poor tony russo, he was easily the best
caller they ever got. His prescence will be the thing most missed. Unfortunately, Chris's pop has not called back and all I can hope is the Yankees stay in 1st place this coming season. We need to hear Tony, again!!

The best sports talk show duo good things always end and usually not very well and when remembered most will remember these two as pioneers on radio and then simulcast on satellite/cable TV Mike and Maddog show was always interesting no matter what they were talking or arguing about. No matter what way the truly feel about each other. No matter who fans prefer together they were Kings of sports talk show radio/TV i hate that the didn't retire this show together.

Mike was good in the beginning of his career but turned into a grumpy old man. Mad dog was a joke from the beginning! Both are terrible bias losers!!! Disrespected minorities with all the hate and stereotypes. Made fun of other ethnicity and never made fun of where they came from I believe they are Italians but of course never poke fun of their own ethnicity. I remember one time they couldn't pronounce an Asian player's name but yet they are in the field of communications so they refer to the player as the "Japanese guy" instead of speaking the name? Would they do the same if the player was African? or Italian? DON'T THINK SO! How does that sound "the African guy"? I contacted the station and they just responded with an excuse. Very professional people there!
