- Christopher "Mad Dog" Russo returned to WFAN on Friday, October 16, 2009 and co-hosted an hour of radio with former partner Mike Francesa.
The duo hosted the popular "Mike and The Mad Dog" afternoon sports show until their bitter and well-publicized break up in 2008.
Mad Dog (aka The Angry Puppy) signed a multi-year contract with XM Radio while Francesa remained at WFAN.
But after a year in the desolate wasteland of satellite radio, Mad Dog's appearance sparked rumors of a possible reconciliation that could pave the way for the show to be re-launched.
This is the first ten minutes of an hourlong reunion show.

Mike and Chris getting back together is a no brainer. I will never forget how good it felt to hear that theme song and see them back together.
This is just great. Wow, they'll never be as good solo as they are together. They're totally awesome. Dog is completely psychotic! I love them together 😄
Fantastic! I'm a Boston fan who lives in NYC and these guys together were great radio. They offset each other perfectly. On their own they're not good because they have no contrast and no one to kick them down a notch but together it's just great. Never seen Francesca so happy. Just great.

Mike and The Mad Dog were one of the greatest duos ever. I didn't even know about the reunion until a guy behind me on line at the bank told me about it afterwards. VERY HAPPY!

It is amazing you mention that because when this aired on the radio, my Mother, my Wife and myself were driving to New Jersey for a family reunion when this aired. This hour was radio magic.

Mike and the maddog were a great sports talk duo coming up as a teenager I listened to them. I was a fan of thems and Steve Somers.

Mike looks genuinely happy here! We all have best friends and over the years there's ups and downs. Their feuds were in public though. Hopefully this will open the door to more spots together! I think it will.

The spontaneous Maddog is what haas been sorely missing from Francessa on the Fan. These guys were fantastic sports conversation duo. One with out the other is just lacking that special magic that happens rarely in media.
I wish they'd find a way too work together again.
i really miss Dog. the chemistry between the two and the mix of personalities works perfectly. i enjoy Mike's show as it is right now but its not the same w/o Dog. I can only hope this is a sign of things to come down the road.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Satelite radio is fantastic. It may take some time to catch on (like cable television and personal computers), but in the future everyone will listen to satelite radio.The content choices are incredible.

mad dog chris was spot on with pickin the Yankees in 6 games against the Angels.
he knows his stuff.also i met him here in CT at Mohegan Sun.he was very nice.

i seriously had no idea how much i missed this... the jingle... Russo's goofy laugh... Francesa needs Dog to liven up the show. Dog needs to be back on WFAN so he can be heard... Who listens to Sirius?? He's making money but i think he's missing being heard... Here's to hoping they re-unite
I listened to this live. I wish they would team up again more to throw fans a bone but Mike wants to look forward. Its not on this but, I like when he said to Huesler..... "ohhhhh your team stinks."

It may be shocking to you, but some people don't priotizie their wardrobe. I know this may be shocking to some one who has been inundated with non-stop marketing about the importance of outward physical appearance, predicated on the assumption that "decent" = expensive, for their entire life. But get this, they're successful, happy and productive, so maybe clothes aren't as important as you've been taught to believe.
Not only the best of all time, but NYC has gotten so bad, I don't listen anymore.

This proves just how Great these two were together why oh why can't people who have success such as these two had just egotistically blow up a good gig as they had for nearily twenty years. We fans are left with half a show on cable with Mike and by the way doesn't Chris have at least a show on SNY instead of the stiffs they put on the air all SNY shows are so scripted it's annoying as hell! SNY needs too simulcast Chris's show from XM. How about MSG come on. be better if they got back together.

Boy WTF has happened to Mike? He looks 100 years old now. This clip is 5 years ago, he looks 25 years younger than he does now. Great show, listened religiously to these guys for decades. They are both boring separately.

You REALLY must be from New York to understand these two guys. I honestly think Francesa is like listening to paint dry and Russo is like listening to a laughing hyenia in front of a microphone.
But their intense knowledge of NY Sports must be the reason for the ratings they got.

Sold out for money?? He is one of THREE radio personalities that has his own channel, and his sow is better than Mike's to boot. Also, Sirius is a more real forum, where anything goes. WFAN sold out when they gave Boomer a full time job...yuck.
M/D Russo was barely a second fiddle on the show, was way below M/F in intelligence, knowledge of sports, speaking ability and so on. Callers never wanted to speak to Russo, whose air time grew smaller and smaller. Apart from an occasional mumble, it was all M/F for the last 10 years of the duo.
Is mad dog the only person who can make Mike laugh? I watch Mikes solo stuff and it’s like he has zero sense of humor.
