The Honda/Acura J-Series V6 is severely slept on but maybe we're biased (HalferLand Performance) because we specialize in them. These engines are stout, running 600hp at 7.8psi in our daily driven 06' Accord Coupe 6spd for nearly 35k miles and many many races 🤙 Yes, it has our rods, pistons, billet block guards, our tuning on Hondata , our stage 2 cams and lightly ported heads...but most of that was done for longevity, where stock internals hold roughly the same 600hp, much more interesting things happen 😅 As for the engine storage and rusting, we use just normal motor oil and PB Blaster. We usually also bag/wrap them with plastic wrap to help with humidity, being we're in FL as well.
You should get a review with thatdudeinblue that would be sick! I didn't even know that people modded those things whenever I get a j series in the shop I always think of it as one of the "bad" honda engines but I should really look at that stuff. That would be a sick sleeper build!
Sad that i missed asking a question for the Legendary Jay to answer! Enjoy these informational videos from Jay. Thank you for all you do and all you say to help the rest of us to learn from.💪
The Real MVP. Love the long form content. Thanks sacrificing your time to make these kind of videos. Looking forward to you applying your methods to the RB and K series
I gotta say this man dont miss he explains everything so great but , i would definitely want to see a monster 1000hp 3sgte or 5sgte build since im planning on building mines from my celica. Love from Jamaica bro
A fellow connoisseur of a RB26 in a S30! I can't wait to see your Z Jay! My 240Z is also in the same spot, I've had this one (my 4th) for 4 years now and it's still not done yet. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for your RB26 builds to follow for my own Z!
Congratulations! Im surprised you guys dont have more subscribers. I have a question about the oiling system. What is more important for the rotating assembly, oil pressure or oil flow, or is it a balance of both? I understand there are other factors like clearances, deflection, stiffness of the components used, environmental temperatures etc. There seems to be two camps on the topic. One camp seems to roughly follow the 10psi per 1000rpm rule of thumb, sometimes even lower (NASCAR crowd) and the other camp seems to chase very high pressures (RB26 crowd). I would love to get your insight on the subject :)
Does Jay only employ people with the same hair cut as himself? I'd love to work at real st but want to prepare myself if I have to shine my head before work everyday.
Jay is a Treasure to this world, thanks for all the knowledge your a motivation to the at home engine builder community.
Always great information shared by Jay
What did Jay look like with hair!?

The 11 year old boy he was? 😂
