Got my table last weekend as well and it was well worth the wait! While it's not as fun the real thing it is a great experience for 10% of the cost of a brand new "real" pinball machine.
Just ordered mine after seeing it on sale for $430 from HSN’s Black Friday deal. Was leaning to getting the AtGames machine for functionality, but this one just looks so much better as a feature in home. I may someday make a full size Vpin machine, but honestly this fills that casual home experience feel. And it makes trips to the city that much more special to actually play the tables in person. Arabian Nights is probably my all time favourite table so being on here is fantastic. Overall seems like an amazing at home experience. Lastly, I see they finally pushed the update out that fixes the issues people had. Very excited!
@@flbizowner9384 I do very much! It is a great conversation piece whenever people visit and looks great in my home office/game room. I have no issues with quality and regular use and even modified the unit to also include the Star Wars, Marvel, and Zen pinball android app tables. There are easy to follow guides on RUclips, and the whole process is very simple. I used the method of legally purchasing tables on android and importing them to the system. I definitely recommend doing this as it brings the total available tables much higher and gives me the feeling of having a whole arcade at home. The screen resolution is not an issue in the slightest. I imagine it would be obvious or a problem side by side with higher res machines, but I live unaware of the comparison and am very satisfied. Another modification I recommend is relocation of the solenoids for better feedback. Again, tutorials available for that if you search it. Tldr: if you’re interested, go for it. You’ll be happy
Great Job! Almost tempted to pick one up but Im also waiting for the Killer Instinct to release so I think I will jist hold off and wait for my atgames to arrive in April. Oh and you really nailed all the same issues i noticed when i played. Also the difference between the lowest volume and sound off is a kittle to high for my liking. I really notice it when im trying to play quietly at night but still want to hear it.
I noticed that too, the sound goes from kind of loud to silent. I ended up getting all 3 with no consideration of any future cabs i would to buy. I seem to have lost all control
The accelerometer works great for me on Star Wars, btw. I don’t rock the table around, though, I just smack the side. Saves my ass all the time. It really only fails when I do it too late. I’m no master by any measure, but got a little used to nudge on my Switch.
The real mystery is how someone living on The Rock got this before me, who lives in Ottawa! My uncle used to say no one beats The Brick, The Brick beats you.
Awesome review, and liked how you went into detail about all tables. I really want one of these. I might be patient and wait for wifi/higher res. support
Nice job MichaelB! Glad you brought up the cold basement. I’m in Boston and can certainly relate. I have a regular full size Bally machine and from a glance it looks good. I picked up the Star Wars table to go with my 1up Star Wars arcade because I think this is the best 1up game and wanted the matching set. Wave 2 I’m going with Bally. Finally since you have that Marvel sitting next to it does that mean Dad is going to get his machine? Gotta take care of your Dad!👍🏻
Great review sir. If I was going Arcade1up pinball it would be this one right here. I'm kind of leaning to the Atgames. And push the merch a little more will ya. :)
It looks fantastic, from the outside, but the 1/4 scale monitors are a deal killer for me. I have a true 3/4 scale cabinet, with true 3/4 scale monitors, and after having to put up with Toyshock's 1/4 scale monitor for a year, I must have an honest, true to scale cabinet, mainly because of my eye sight. I can't read that 7" DMD My 3/4 scale table had one of those, and I quickly unplugged that monitor, and just externally mounted a 14" LCD DMD. It makes the table look funny, but it works, for me, anyway. Congrats on getting one of those. If I get the A1up tables, they'll mostly be for guests, during parities. They do look impressive, I gotta say, though. :) Thanks for sharing, and congrats.
Thanks for the great review! The corny jokes got me chuckling. I'm really enthusiastic about this table. I really think as long as it holds up (fingers crossed) this is a great entry into the virtual pinball world.
Great review Michael and glad you enjoy it. The cab looks great and I think the Attack From Mars is the one to get (I still want Universal). It will be interesting to see what chances and how these pinballs evolve overtime
AFM is my favorite pinball of all time but I bought an RV earlier this year and the wifey says that’s my toy allotment for a while. Any tips? LOL this thing is soooo sweet
Nice review. When I 1st heard about these last year I wanted one so bad. After reading up on everything I decided to build a Full size 4K cab myself and love it. PS The “standard“ size for a DMD has a 4:1!ratio. Though many newer games use 16x9 screens. The size of the dmd screen probably came down to cost of what was available in the qtys they needed. If you get into modding there’s custom aprons you can set behind the DMD to fill the screen.
I JUST bought this at a STEAL & can’t wait till it arrives (this is the first review I’ve seen). I used to have a real Rollercoaster Tycoon table in my house, but today, it’s just not REMOTELY financially practical to add more. Like many, I play Williams on my iPad Pro for the very tables in THIS machine. I’m a LITTLE bummed they put Gophers & Hurricane in it over _Theater of Magic_ & *CIRQUS VOLTAIRE!!* 👀 😳 WHA??? 🤦♂️ Not even CREATURE or Monster Bash?!!! BUT, Arabian Nights & Medieval Madness lessen that horror … a LITTLE. Dude, how HEAVY is it? 🤷♂️ Thanks for this! 🤟😃
Just nabbed it myself on sale for $400 with the 10% off from Wayfair. Creature would've been a great one to put on there! I remember spending countless hours on the Simpsons pinball from data east back in 1990 at the liquor store with a buddy of mine. Was addicted to that one! I think for the price of around $400 it's the best way to experience some authentic williams tables combined with everything else that Mars attacks machine has to offer. I don't feel like blowing too much on an atgames one either. Too big, too long to load and most of the tables are not real tables. I think this one will be just fine. Might have to toss a heatsink on back of that PCB board. I don't like the thought of it possibly overheating from what Ive read. Might have to do same with dragons lair over here when I get round to building it
Have you had experience with the atgames in person yet? If so, Is the monitor size a big difference in person? I really like the looks of the mars 1up and i like that a backglass monitor can be easily installed for vpx etc. but not sure about the 24" vs 32". but the asthetics of the 1up is just so real.
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie It looks very realistic and vibrant. The best looking of all the budget mass produced pin cabs. It's turning out to be quite modder friendly too. I just dont want to be stuck with a screen size i am not happy with.
It definitely looks better than I expected. I would still rather have the Atgames table, but I'll wait for your review of that one before making up my mind.
So i am getting ready to pull the trigger on a vpin, i have it nailed down to atgames legends and A1U attack from Mars. The Atgames comes with 22 tables, but ability to upgrade via their net or PC easily. A1U looks iconic and has 10 tables. Coming from some one who might play it on the weekends or when company comes over, what would you recommend?
Think they will do a The Simpson pinball to go with the new cab they just dropped? If they do I would probably buy it. They could also do a TMNT and T2 pinball as well.
Looking back at this video again, it blows my mind that Zen was able to get no latency here, but has all kinds of issues with the 4KP. I assume, both these machines are running on similar ARM SOCs with Android as the OS. Hopefully they get it playing this smooth soon. Also Michael, what are you thoughts now that you own both machines?
Definitely looks cute and attractive. I like solenoids and nudge feature. In my personal opinion, arcade 1up , its a huge compromise in terms of resolution. As for the performance, its fair. Also you can see the play-field is not long and it should be. Its a bit squashed from the top to the bottom and it looks stretched from left and right side. Not sure if you have option to change the view. For example, view 2 in PC version works best in cab mode. Once again, the screen is horrible and it should be at least 4k. The physics are also a bit different from superior PC cab version. Just my 2 cents
I knew they werent putting monster bash in bc the potential universal table, but no theater of magic really saddened me.... still pumped for mine to come in... someday?!
Fast forward 2 years later, the same technical issues still happening with “white water”. I ordered mine December 2023 figuring they must have fixed the issues by now. Nope. So either I got a machine that was sitting for 2 years or they just can’t fix the program issue with that game. The other 9 games are great. I wish they could send customers a flash drive with a fix on it to replace the game with something else like F14 Tomcat😃😃😃!
Dammit..now I want this table even more. Got my preorder in at bestbuy. They need to start shipping out US preorders but probably won't happen for awhile. I'll just enjoy my Marvel table until then. Thanks MichaelB!
I know this is a little off topic but has anyone had their pinball tables die in less than a year. My Star Wars and Williams pinball tables both died within a couple months of each other.
Ok so I have marvel and just got attack in the mail finally. I’m nit happy though. I knew white water had issues. But marvel plays so much smoother than this. Maybe I have a bad machine?? Anyone have both and notice this? The biggest issue is the display has noticeable vertical lines throughout the entire display. Probably around 100 vertical distorted lines. Has anyone else seen this issue or do I have a deductive display or PCB board?
Thank you for this review! Since you have played Zen pinball on other platforms, can you please confirm whether the tables are using "Single Player" physics or "Classic Single Player" (aka Williams) physics? From all the videos I've seen, it appears to be using Single Player physics, which is floatier and slower.
@@ketowolf that's what I've heard, but it still looks floatier than the PC Classic Single Player physics to me. Hoping someone who has both platforms can compare.
Hey Mike, I watched your video and really want the ATFM instead of the Star wars but I am hesitant cause of all the reviews of it needing patch updates. Your video was great and didn't have any bad reviews on it. So if I buy the ATFM today will I need to connect a PC to update it?
Hi Everyone, Hope you enjoy the Attack from Mars review! Let me know what you think about the cabinet
What PC hardware are they using? or is the system android based?
Have you contacted arcade1up to fix the marvel and star wars pinballs so they match the same quality as the attack for mars?

It would cool if the backglass had the backglass representation of the game you're playing.
Than only attack from Mars.
It’s been a year. Do you still have and like it?
I really wish this had Theater of Magic on it.
No theatre of magic is a shame .
Very well done review fellow GameRoom Dude! 👏
Thank you so much Dubs!!!
This looks the best out of all of the 1up pinball tables.
Awesome review, and liked how you went into detail about all tables. I really want one of these. I might be patient and wait for wifi/higher res. support
Thank you and Wifi would have made such a difference
Haha yeah so many opportunities to push and I missed everyone. This is certainly the table to get out of all 3 they released
love your intro with JASON lol
Great review.. Will be buying it as soon as it is available. Looks great.
That is a good point on nudge button as a fail safe
Hey Micheal, any idea where to buy one of these in Canada?
Nice review. When I 1st heard about these last year I wanted one so bad. After reading up on everything I decided to build a Full size 4K cab myself and love it. PS The “standard“ size for a DMD has a 4:1!ratio. Though many newer games use 16x9 screens. The size of the dmd screen probably came down to cost of what was available in the qtys they needed. If you get into modding there’s custom aprons you can set behind the DMD to fill the screen.
Thanks for the review. How much was the stand for the stick on National owners day for the at games legends pro. just took the plunge on that
I've heard that there is a lag in the gameplay... That's the biggest concern I have about buying one of these over here in the eu
Thanks for this!
Might have to do same with dragons lair over here when I get round to building it
Thanks for a great review. I guess in the USA Best Buy is the only place to get it?
Thank you so much. I think so far that has been the only place pre orders were made available from
Have you had experience with the atgames in person yet? If so, Is the monitor size a big difference in person? I really like the looks of the mars 1up and i like that a backglass monitor can be easily installed for vpx etc. but not sure about the 24" vs 32". but the asthetics of the 1up is just so real.
My AtGames Legends Pinball is supposed to arrive on April 8th so we will get to compare then. I love the look of this cabinet
Are you still enjoying your AFM? Best Buy is shipping mine Monday
Thanks for great review Michael.
From the 3 arcade1up which has the best gamrplay and cabinet design?
How are the games with animations turned on? Also no pro physics options?
I didn't turn the animations on. I always just play with them off...i guess i could have covered that haha
Wish it had Fun House and Earth Shaker. I used to play those 2 at the local bar back in the day.
Awesome review micheal b
Thank you Mario!
I'm in the same boat got marvel and waiting on my AFM from best buy. Hoping soon
I know this is a little off topic but has anyone had their pinball tables die in less than a year. My Star Wars and Williams pinball tables both died within a couple months of each other.
Use a little lithium grease on the plunger, will smooth it out real nice
Ok so I have marvel and just got attack in the mail finally. I’m nit happy though. I knew white water had issues. But marvel plays so much smoother than this. Maybe I have a bad machine?? Anyone have both and notice this? The biggest issue is the display has noticeable vertical lines throughout the entire display. Probably around 100 vertical distorted lines. Has anyone else seen this issue or do I have a deductive display or PCB board?
I think it’s the plexiglass you should replace it with actual glass
I need one, right now
Well I hope you can get one soon Noah
Looks really cool. Excellent review brother. 😎🚬😳🕶️🚬
Is there an attract mode on this cabinet? So it has some lights flashing and sound going while not being played?
Yes. You select the table and it will be in attract mode before you hit the start button
Thank you for this review! Since you have played Zen pinball on other platforms, can you please confirm whether the tables are using "Single Player" physics or "Classic Single Player" (aka Williams) physics? From all the videos I've seen, it appears to be using Single Player physics, which is floatier and slower.
I’ll stand to be corrected but if I recall correctly, Zen Studios confirmed that the AFM is using the Williams physics.
@@ketowolf that's what I've heard, but it still looks floatier than the PC Classic Single Player physics to me. Hoping someone who has both platforms can compare.
I cant really tell the difference feels like when I usually play with the Williams physics though
Real talk, would you rather deal with the short Cummings or have to be an engineer to keep a fifty year o!d machine working for one game?
Hey Mike, I watched your video and really want the ATFM instead of the Star wars but I am hesitant cause of all the reviews of it needing patch updates. Your video was great and didn't have any bad reviews on it. So if I buy the ATFM today will I need to connect a PC to update it?
After spending more time with this how is White Water? Do you find it unplayable?
