I believe he's using the Estoc, and the reason he killed him so quickly is because he used the gold pine resin on his sword. All of the resin items gives you a set amount of elemental damage (based on the resin used), per hit. The more times you hit, the more damage you do.
Can anyone figure out why the connection issues? I have tried summoning so many times and it's extremely rare that I ever actually summon someone or get summoned myself. It's seemingly impossible to play with other people and it's so aggravating especially when I just want to have fun and I get stuck somewhere waiting forever to play with someone else

I personally like the game leagues better than dark souls 2 and a bit better than bloodborne, but it loses some of the magic of the original dark souls. I mainly just like the game because my favorite type of games are dark fantasy sword and board types. I still haven't beaten the game yet so i can't talk magic, but magic has never been strong in pvp anyways. I don't get why they nerfed the damage of magic because it is way to rare to hit on an actual player making it useless. Anyways If you don't like the game, that's ok. The difficulty is certainly higher than dark souls 1, but since i am so used to soulsborne games i beat most bosses typically on the first try except for old demon king and dancer.

Dagger weapon art is a slide. You can still use it in the swamp water for the fast movement.
