Just install a trap for the coil and then tee in after the trap for the humidifier. That way you will not have air blowing in the humidifier line and it's one less trap to plug up.

just run 3/4 pvc from existing drain all the way up to the drain off the humidifier and cut a small piece off that tubing and run it into the pvc .

exactly what im doing however i will install a trap on it so it can never get sewer gas, as well as a separate trap for the A coil and another trap for the condensate from the furnace. overkill? maybe.

+PHC Apprentice sewer gas? is that condensate drain piped into the plumbing drain in a spot with no plumbing traps?

Does the eccobee stat require a RH to RC jumper?
