I still don't understand why you don't have 100s of thousands of followers because your content is so high quality! You are good at explaining, the length of the videos are always perfect, they have a nice personal touch, you are honest and just damn smart! Thank you for many good videos this year and happy new year!
i LOVEE cafune!! Especially for us canadians :) I've purchased most of my coffee gear from them and they package everything so carefully and beautifully 🥰 So glad that you're promoting them!!
Loved the video. As another commenter stated, just a well thought out presentation. Your content is always delivered in a smart and straightforward approach. Hope you had a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
I’m just getting to home espresso, and very satisfied with cafelat robot. Work flow of cafelat is awesome, I make espresso as a daily habit with effortless. Just enjoy the cup everyday.
I love this video. You're candid and honest and each piece of equipment you recommend is well considered. It's incredible to see a resurgence of interest in the Cafelat Robot. It's a perfect machine. There are two other pieces of coffee equipment I would recommend. One is a hand grinder. The BPlus Apollo. It is still the most well built, ergonomic, and fastest hand grinder I've ever used. The second is the Olympia Cremina. The Cremina is the Cafelat Robot of home espresso machines. How do you improve a spoon?
The nice thing about coffee "as a hobby" is the social element. 150-200 bucks gets you a simple setup with a grinder, aeropress/v60, scale, and small nick nacks to make it all happen. Fresh beans and a cozy room makes memories. Your coffee journey can end well before the point it becomes a true hobby and thats OK. Coffee is meant to be enjoyed and unlike wood working or a more hands on hobby . . . less really can be more.
I really like to think of every hobby having its point of "critical mass". You can invest a certain amount to get into it (and if you want) you can *continue* to invest more, but it's not necessary per say. I also find so much of online coffee discussions become this question of 1. Best bang for buck (understandable) or 2. Chasing 0.01% difference (slightly neurotic but that's every hobby lol).
My ex-GF is a barista with about trust fund. She has a massive gear collection with a Decent being her cheapest plug in machine. She's still a 50% fresh presser at home. We're still close. I roast her coffee and we share a dog. I have a key to her place and have full access to all her toys and still prefer my Robot, even over her custom Slayer. For many, the joy of the nice stuff is just the feel of them, just like having nice, handmade tools as a craftsman. The cost is really nothing to MOST people with very expensive stuff.
I'm one month into watching youtube reviews about gear to get started into my espresso journey and just the last 4 and a half minutes were probably all i needed. Thanks Justin! Also as an European we are really lucky as the lelit bianca only costs around 1900€ here.
I appreciate that you're transparent that you're not personally buying most of this equipment, that the links are affiliate, etc., but I do hope that it's a goal to move towards the channel funding equipment purchases instead of the manufacturers. I don't think there's bias coming from you, but there will always be doubt from the community unless the manufacturer is 0% involved (including no special discounts, etc.)
I always hope my content speaks for itself. I strive to lead with transparency and integrity always. Content creation is my full time gig and it’s always been part of the plan to move to more and more self funded content. Transparently, that has been a larger hill to climb financially than I expected. I have considered launching a Patreon once my channel was at a scale to make it meaningful. I would love your input and any others interested in your comment if a Patreon would be something you would consider supporting to help me move in this direction and if so, what would make that subscription valuable to you. Thanks for the feedback!
Another great video and thanks for the honesty! On a side note, I love watching the snow falling outside your window as I watch your videos in 35 deg C here in Australia! I have lived in Canada for a short time when I was younger and would love to visit again!
As for handgrinders I have used both C40, 1zPresso K-Ultra and 1zPresso K-Plus. I bought the last K-Plus available in Sweden and oh, I never had such a good handgrinder for pourover. Smooth, easy to grind with and "perfect profile" for pourover.
My favorite coffee channel. I drink primarily pour over, rarely espresso. I pretty much have the setup you use: V60 & two different 1Zpresso hand grinders, depending on what I'm looking to do. I have the Zerno Z1 on the way, and hope for the best there. I really enjoy hand grinding, but couldn't resist that grinder. Getting the UMV2, but will look into the UMV1 on your recommendation.
Thank you! You’ll love the Z1. See if you can get your hands on some seasoning coffee from a local roaster. I found the UMV2 (MP) best after 10kg and the UMV1 (brews) best after 15kg. Personally I def preferred the UMV1 for filter
Thank you for another great Video. You helped me decide to buy the Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus. Great little machine. I got my setting from your recommendations. Question: What made you choose the La Marzocco over the Ascaso Baby T? Thanks again.
Your videos and topics are so consistently good, thank you! It was cool to see what different aspects of coffee as a hobby can look like. I’m curious what hand grinder you would prefer for French press. Maybe another video topic could be paper/cloth filter comparisons because I think paper filtration is inferior, but maybe I’m missing something.
Great video as always. I’d highly recommend the Naked gauge for the Cafelat Robot from Cafune. Puts the gauge in a better position and has nice big numbers.
I had a ratio 8 for about 2yrs and while I loved the coffee that came out and the gorgeous look of the machine, the fact that the water reservoir is not removable is a big downside in my experience. Over time, condensation accumulated and the tank got moldy. The machine also failed to read the water levels accurately so I had to overfill the level I wanted for the machine to read it. I didn't bother to reach out to the company so I'm not sure what part was my fault or just a one of. Been using the Aiden and loving the look, the ease of use + all the functionality.
Appreciate the tiered recs as 'm reaching the limits of my heavily modded barista express, but a la marzocco is quite the leap. I'm happy to hear the niche zero still being recommended after the "glam" of it has faded. Timemore grinders were on my list too, Im interested in how you would compare (I'm expresso only, darker roasts).
Love the style of your reviews, this is great! I definitely want to try a hand grinder at some point. I also have a Zerno but was thinking hand grinders may be a good option for getting some conical shots from time to time. (From Zpresso) I also agree with your take on the HU burrs, now that I’ve gotten my dial-ins better, they’ve been giving me some beautiful shots. I wonder if you feel that the La Marzocco is overpriced for not having any flow control capabilities? I was between the Micra and the ECM Syncro when I was getting my dream machine but the lack of flow control held me back from La Marzocco though I was really tempted. I just wish that paddle was more than an on off switch!
I would love a review of the HG-1 Prime by Craig Lyn. It's very similar to Webers HG-2 but smaller footprint. It's a grinder that is under the radar and inexpensive compared the the weber HG-2. It's around 1400 CAD at Cafune in Canada. Happy new year!
Honestly it’s about a 50/50 toss up and can flip based on both my brew method or the coffee I’m brewing. I have a coffee on the go from sorellina right now that I love on the robot, but have preferred on the key.
Love the video and content great job! I will say the Turin sk40 feels like twice the grinder as the opus and the encore esp however I do understand not wanting to recommend Chinese white label products. I sold mine awhile back but it was awesome while I had it
You know Justin that since you like the SSP HU burrs in the Z1 for espresso and are somewhat torn with the SSP Brew burrs in the Z1 for pourovers, that just means you need to have a second Z1 on the deck and dual wield them like some on the Zerno discord 😂😂😂 It is interesting on your perspective about the SSP Brew burrs though. I take it you use them exclusively with the slow augur for what you like about the pourovers, correct? Do you have the CV2 burrs to compare with the brews? If you do, do you think it is worth it for me who drinks exclusively PO to pick up the Brew burrs and slow feed augur? I have MP and CV2 with medium augur currently.
Really great video - especially the comments regarding what you would choose if you were not a reviewer. Would love to know your opinions on the Oracle Jet (and how it stacks to others in that price range). Thanks again!
For a coffee channel, this is a fairly modest setup. It'll be a lot different if/when you hit 100k followers. There are definitely also general enthusiasts that have crazy coffee rooms. Not very different than a wealthy person's car collection. Or in my case, a middle class guy with a $3000 car but over $50,000 in bicycles.
Been following your channel for quite a while, loving your videos! Surprised to see you mention the Orea though, as I did not see a review from you on it (was searching for reviews before buying one) - could you share your recipe for the Orea as well? A Happy New Year too!
@DaddyGotCoffee wow thank you. Do you have to grind coarser than a V60 though? I'm using the same recipe, it is fine for a V60 but clogs up my orea v4 badly (getting brews of at least 5 minutes)
My take on the whole "über" setup that is getting common on youtube, is that a decent grinder, a temperature stable PID espresso maker and good beans are all that you need Very very few will taste the difference between this and a 5.000€ grinder paired with a Decent XXL and tools worth several thousands.
Very informative ! You mentioned coffee recommendations. I've tried a few non grocery store coffees but I would appreciate some recommendations...thanks
Love my Bookoo, got it because I couldn't use the Pearl S on my Bambino so I just use it for weighing beans and stuff. Bookoo feels like an Apple product.
Haha. Got to agree with you about Subminimal Flick and the measuring jug. I am using mine even though I got an Acaia and a Wacacao scale. I also got a really nice WDT tool before the Flick. Subminimal is so underrated because people haven’t gotten over the upfront price. Once people try, they will understand Subminimal is currently the only one of its kind in the market. So, it is staying until a competitor comes along.
Lagom Casa, the successor to the Lagom Mini. Good, small and not too expensive grinder. Look at the Varia VS3 if you're shopping single dosers in that price range. Good bang for the buck. Only thing I dislike is the external power supply.
I love the HU all around. I would probably suggest that. It will be lighter body than the mazzer though. Most people like it on medium. Some prefer the Mazzer on dark
I gotta agree on your direct levers take. I feel like people perceive levers as being more difficult to use (and tbf they definitely are more faff), but I've found them way more forgiving to use. Too fast? Let your pressure off. Too slow? Add more pressure. And once you find that sweet spot with your grind it's dead simple. Full manual levers though I understand why they're still kinda niche. The workflow is definitely not for everyone, and not having steamed milk or b2b shots make them difficult to include in a lot of use cases. Machines like the Argos, Vectis, Strega, and La Pavoni kinda become those next options for someone wanting to stay on the lever but reduce the extra setup for each shot.
Let me ask… And a prior video, I commented as at the time I was considering either the Philos or Femobook for an all purpose step grinder as a blind coffee drinker. You recommended the Philos which I ended up getting. My pour overs are coming out good, but with my Cafelat Robot, I’m finding that I have to go to click 27 or 28 to be able to push the arms down. I’ve read other people being in the range from 13 to 26 etc. I haven’t messed with calibration on the grinder because I doubt I’d be able to do so without sight and I don’t really know anyone who could help me out with that. Would that make any sort of difference or just roll with the courser grind?
Thanks for this video! I’m currently upgrading my home set up. I have a Breville Barista Express and I’m wanting to add a nice new grinder as my next step. I’m pretty sure I’m going to get a DF83V. I only make espresso and wonder if you think I should consider the DF64 with different burrs or the original DF83 or Niche grinder instead. I have a Baratza ESP for my cheap office set up with a Delonghi 3420 and I have a Timemore hand grinder and an original Flair for travel. I want to step up my game at home and a $500-$800 grinder is my plan currently. Thanks so much for any advice you have!
A lot of this is going to come down to taste. A niche will give you very thick, syrupy and traditional shots and not be the best for filter. I really like vertical configuration burrs and the 83v is one of the nicest grinders in the df range, as long as you are ok to live in 83mm world as opposed to 64!
If it makes a difference or makes a lightbulb go off in your head about my coffee tastes and which grinder might be the best fit for me, I almost exclusively use Ethiopian beans for my espresso. Thanks!
I just got a new Lagom Casa 65CL. That is my first grinder as I just got a new Línea Micra and wasn’t ready to drop a lot of money on a grinder too. Do you have any thoughts on whether I should explore other/better grinders or would this be good for now? I do find that sometimes I struggle to dial-in quickly but once I get it, it tastes great. Thoughts?
The robot is a really hard one for me because I love it and I love the way it looks and it makes me happy but its also pretty expensive for what it is. All said and done your easily going to be into the robot for over 500 dollars and that's 1/4 of a vectis.
I'm choosing between the Weber Workshops EG1 and Key grinders. I like a texture full espresso, but I also don't like a bitter espresso. Additionally, I like that both of them are dual voltage. I'm American but have been in Europe for the past 12 years. I've spent a good amount of money on an espresso machine and grinder I can't take back with me if I ever return to the states. I had a Niche and loved it. I wished I wouldn't have sold it to someone at work. Is the Key better enough than the Niche? Does it give the same amount of texture as the Niche? Is the EG-1 that much better than the Key?
Just a disclaimer here, I’ve not used an EG1 personally. That being said, they are universally loved by everyone who owns one for both filter and espresso and have a range of burrs available to get different cup profiles. I run the key at a lower rpm to give a slightly lower body than the niche. The Niche is a fantastic grinder, I prefer the slower rpm of the Key and the flexibility that adjusting the rpm gives. In some ways, the eg1 is definitely “better” than the key especially for certain cup profiles, in other ways, it’s more of a complimentary cup. One day I hope to review one on here
This was actually a great video, thanks. I currently have a barista express with an opv mod to try to get closer to 9 bar, and am using an encore esp as a grinder for both espresso, and a moccamaster. I think the next upgrade is a niche zero and an odyssey argos-- for both the manual mode and a spring profile. What are your thoughts on that?
would love to see your ROK comeback with the GC manometer one and also your take on Lance's video because ROK uses 49mm also vs robot 58mm. but of course on manual machines you could adjust the rate of the flow huh
Any recommendations for roasters to try? I’m US based. I’ve been underwhelmed by well known places like Coava, Onyx etc. Also, would love to see video on Robot recipes and approaches!
can you recommend 1-2 of your fav GBW grinders primarily for espresso? I like GBW for workflow preference but I haven't found the one that aesthetically 'sparks joy' yet. I'm open to full range grinding capability but that's not a requirement
Bought the Timemore 078s for espresso and pour over, but have seen how much popularity the 078 burr set has gotten for pour overs specifically. Any preference or insight here?
great video, saw your video on the Robot the other day and think im finallyyyyy gonna pull the plug on one. Daily i use an Aeropress in work and a Moka Venus or V60 at home. I bought a Phillips Latte Go for £600 4 yeasr ago and the espresso was like water so havent had anything since other than aeropress. Mainly drink black or espresso and as much as i want a LM Micra or an Asasco (not readily available in UK?) i know i will ruin it or it will break and i wont fix it in 2 years. Friend got a Flair and loves it, but i like either the Robot or the 9Barista and i think the Robot i can take and use pretty quickly at home and work, ive gotta pull the plunge!!
Great video. Thank you I got a flair58 for Xmas. Which hand grinder would you recommend? My daily coffee prep is a Chemex/Fellow Ode 2/Acaia scale Branching (slowly) to lever espresso
I like the SSP Brews so much in my Z1, I basically don’t make espresso anymore 😂 Swapped in the MPs earlier this week for spro, and the filter has been okay, but man I miss the Brews.
There has been alot of buzz around the Philos, now that it is shipping more quickly. I see one on your counter in many of the shots, but it didn’t get even a passing reference. I saw your review but wonder why the silence on this grinder? Thanks!
Only because I don’t use it daily (which is what I built this list around) - it’s a fantastic grinder and excellent value when compared to the other grinders in this video. I think I may shoot it out with the Z1 early in the new year - definitely a compelling option, lots of arguments to choose it over the Z1 👀
@@DaddyGotCoffee Understood! I look forward to the shootout! Thanks for a very sensible and well explained statement on what one needs to make great coffee, and what one might want.
Glad this was brought up. I just ordered the Philos yesterday after a bit of pondering ( actually a ton ) I’ve been exclusively using a hand grinder ( lido OG ) and I don’t recommend wasting any time reviewing this particular hand grinder, absolute nightmare to say the least with espresso, maybe it’s decent with pour over but I don’t have that setup quite yet. The wait for the Zerno plus the extra 1k on top of the Philos put me on tilt. I’ve been super happy with the Bianca V3, absolutely no complaints there and glad you mentioned it. Thanks for all you do for the community and I love the videos.
Incredible machines. At some point I will likely end up with one, the flexibility for testing/trying stuff is unreal. I think for personal drinking I would be more likely to use manual direct levers for casual day to day drinking. One day I’m sure there will be one on the channel!
I have not beaten the Z1 with UMV1 burrs although the Pietro with pro brew burrs is my second. Excluding the EG1 with ULFs and 98mm like the p100 until I can test some of them!
In Hamilton, have you checked out One for All and Phin? Two incredible cafes with a regular curation of notable international roasters. I wish I could go more often, definitely worth checking them out!
Please can you help I'm looking to get a top quality hand grinder I use French press, I see your favorite ones but wanted to know have you used Lido OG hand grinder as heard that's one of the best
We just bought a Breville impress touch epresso machine and have no clue on how to find good quality espresso beans, do you have any recommendations on where to start?
This channel is actually very underated, keep up the good work
Thank you!! Really appreciate the kind words 😊☕️
I concur! he is the Canadian version of daddy Hoff🤌🏼
Totally agree.🙌The presentation and everything is👌💯
Yep, eh!
I still don't understand why you don't have 100s of thousands of followers because your content is so high quality! You are good at explaining, the length of the videos are always perfect, they have a nice personal touch, you are honest and just damn smart! Thank you for many good videos this year and happy new year!
Agreed, also love the use case context for the equipment - ie how it fits into your day.
Thanks for an honest take on buying equipment.
Always! ☕️☕️
Thanks for this and all the great videos this year. Happy new year!
Thank you! Back at ya!
Awesome video, very well put together and just the right amount of detail. Thanks!
i LOVEE cafune!! Especially for us canadians :) I've purchased most of my coffee gear from them and they package everything so carefully and beautifully 🥰 So glad that you're promoting them!!
Great video Justin. One of the best yet. Super helpful breakdown of such a variety of options when it comes to coffee gear.
Loved the video. As another commenter stated, just a well thought out presentation. Your content is always delivered in a smart and straightforward approach.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
What a fantastic, breath of fresh air kind of video.
Thanks!
Thank you!! Really appreciate the encouragement ☕️😊
I’m just getting to home espresso, and very satisfied with cafelat robot. Work flow of cafelat is awesome, I make espresso as a daily habit with effortless. Just enjoy the cup everyday.
Thanks!
Ah man thank you!
Of course! Half Canadian here and happy to support a bit with a plus 😅
Love your approach, your honest take and the presentation- probably my fav in the coffee community.
Happy holidays 🤙☕️
Thank you!! Happy holidays to you too!
Using the phrase “it’s not my cup of tea” in coffee videos… chef’s kiss 😘
Hahahaha didn’t even realize I did this! 😆☕️
Thanks for great content in 2024, see you next year, happy holidays!
Thank you!! ☕️

Also as an European we are really lucky as the lelit bianca only costs around 1900€ here.
Amazing! So glad it was helpful!! Agreed on the EU Bianca pricing 😮💨

Love this video, so many great products! Have you tried the Hario Switch at all?
Yes!! Fantastic brewer. Day to day I just use a reg v60 but the switch is awesome and more flexible
Another great video and thanks for the honesty! On a side note, I love watching the snow falling outside your window as I watch your videos in 35 deg C here in Australia! I have lived in Canada for a short time when I was younger and would love to visit again!

Great video as always. I’d highly recommend the Naked gauge for the Cafelat Robot from Cafune. Puts the gauge in a better position and has nice big numbers.
Great video, as per usual. Cheers!
Thank you!
Loved the end of year summary! Having used the Mazzer Philos, where does it figure in the conversation on grinders?
you are the ed bolian of coffee and i love it

Great one!!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it! ☕️
Best reviewer. So well spoken.

What’s on the phone you’re using with the robot one? Is that from the scale and output to your phone or something else?
Yeah the UMV1/ brew are insane. Loving mine. I really hope they bring those for the 78mm
Crazy burrs!

I thought I was fairly in the know ... so much gear in this video I've never even heard of
Been following your channel for quite a while, loving your videos! Surprised to see you mention the Orea though, as I did not see a review from you on it (was searching for reviews before buying one) - could you share your recipe for the Orea as well? A Happy New Year too!
I actually usually do a recipe very similar to the v60 1 cup recipe in the description!
@DaddyGotCoffee wow thank you. Do you have to grind coarser than a V60 though? I'm using the same recipe, it is fine for a V60 but clogs up my orea v4 badly (getting brews of at least 5 minutes)
What is your go to Bird recipe and grind setting on the pietro? I have this same set up.
Usually I am 7.5-8 on Pietro, water at 88c, 3:30 steep with agitation at the start, then pull the plunger up over about 30s. Fantastic cups!
@ that’s similar to what I have been doing. I agitate 8 times and let steep for 4.5 mins then a 30 second pull.
My take on the whole "über" setup that is getting common on youtube, is that a decent grinder, a temperature stable PID espresso maker and good beans are all that you need
Very very few will taste the difference between this and a 5.000€ grinder paired with a Decent XXL and tools worth several thousands.
2:24 : flair neo : hold my lever
Truth 🤣☕️
Haha, you are the only person I know that bypassed his power steer to get more horse power. So this all fits you. Have a good one.
Looking for some recommendations for some good espresso coffee
Is the Mazzer Philos a good pair with the Profitec Go?
I have to ask, where did you get the ceramic v60 at 1:42
Very informative ! You mentioned coffee recommendations. I've tried a few non grocery store coffees but I would appreciate some recommendations...thanks
Where are you roughly located?
@@DaddyGotCoffee I'm in the South West..AZ !..thanks
Hey what do you think of the taste of the HU burrs I have df64 gen 2 are they good for milk drinks?
Love my Bookoo, got it because I couldn't use the Pearl S on my Bambino so I just use it for weighing beans and stuff. Bookoo feels like an Apple product.
Totally agreed
I was so surprised how it wormed its way into my workflow!
Thoughts on a Flair Pro 3 and Encore ESP combo? Also, for me who is new to espresso, any good coffees to recommend?
What was the stainless grinder at 3:22? Thing looks amazing
Lagom Casa, the successor to the Lagom Mini. Good, small and not too expensive grinder.
Look at the Varia VS3 if you're shopping single dosers in that price range. Good bang for the buck. Only thing I dislike is the external power supply.
For medium to dark roasts on the Zerno Z1 … still stick with the SSP HU? Or what about the Mazzer 233
I love the HU all around. I would probably suggest that. It will be lighter body than the mazzer though. Most people like it on medium. Some prefer the Mazzer on dark
How did you find the Hario x Lin’s ceramic dripper? All I see online is the Switch collab.
Totally agreed! I’m eyeing up a cremina over here 👀☕️
Great video, like always.
I also have one question, from where did you get the knock box and tamper stand?
The knock box is Crema Coffee Products and the tamp stand is from Basics Machine Shop in Canada, available via Eight Ounce!
@@DaddyGotCoffee thank you very much
Let me ask… And a prior video, I commented as at the time I was considering either the Philos or Femobook for an all purpose step grinder as a blind coffee drinker.
Is it really always snowing where you live? Nothing like coffee and snow 😊
IMO, just skip the entry level because you will quickly outgrow them. This is very important when it comes to grinder.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply!
One day I hope to review one on here
What kind of burr gap do you use for the zerno brew burr v60?
This was actually a great video, thanks. I currently have a barista express with an opv mod to try to get closer to 9 bar, and am using an encore esp as a grinder for both espresso, and a moccamaster. I think the next upgrade is a niche zero and an odyssey argos-- for both the manual mode and a spring profile. What are your thoughts on that?
would love to see your ROK comeback with the GC manometer one and also your take on Lance's video because ROK uses 49mm also vs robot 58mm. but of course on manual machines you could adjust the rate of the flow huh
I’ve got the smartshot on deck for early next year - I should add a GC review in there!
@DaddyGotCoffee looking forward to it justin!
What version is that Hario brewer?
Any recommendations for roasters to try? I’m US based. I’ve been underwhelmed by well known places like Coava, Onyx etc.
Also, would love to see video on Robot recipes and approaches!
can you recommend 1-2 of your fav GBW grinders primarily for espresso? I like GBW for workflow preference but I haven't found the one that aesthetically 'sparks joy' yet. I'm open to full range grinding capability but that's not a requirement
I assume this was a good video but the amazing view out that window totally stole me from it! /s
Hahahaha I love where I live!
Bought the Timemore 078s for espresso and pour over, but have seen how much popularity the 078 burr set has gotten for pour overs specifically. Any preference or insight here?
Love that shirt, where is it from?
It’s from a store called RW in Canada and sadly is no longer available!
When you say adjust it on the fly what exactly it is that you do? I have dimmer mod on my espresso machine and could adjust pressure generated
Where was this video when I was making my Christmas list?!?
great video, saw your video on the Robot the other day and think im finallyyyyy gonna pull the plug on one.
I love the robot!!!
Have you gotten your hands on a P64? What are your thoughts if so, specifically compared to the Zerno?
I’m working on this for 2025:)
You need a Weber eg-1 with ultra burrs for pour overs!
One day 🤣
Great video. Thank you
I got a flair58 for Xmas. Which hand grinder would you recommend?
My daily coffee prep is a Chemex/Fellow Ode 2/Acaia scale
Branching (slowly) to lever espresso
I like the SSP Brews so much in my Z1, I basically don’t make espresso anymore 😂 Swapped in the MPs earlier this week for spro, and the filter has been okay, but man I miss the Brews.
Yeah those burrs are wild
If I put this much time and effort making the perfect cup of espresso or latte etc as I would have in school, I would have become an Astrophysicist.
Hahahahaha
Love this. What are your thoughts on the decent?
Incredible machines. At some point I will likely end up with one, the flexibility for testing/trying stuff is unreal. I think for personal drinking I would be more likely to use manual direct levers for casual day to day drinking. One day I’m sure there will be one on the channel!
@ I have a fm3 on the way with a barista express while I figure out what to upgrade to. Decent is top of the list
what about high end pour over set up? - Great video btw! came across very honest and with useful info (hard to find these days)
I have not beaten the Z1 with UMV1 burrs although the Pietro with pro brew burrs is my second. Excluding the EG1 with ULFs and 98mm like the p100 until I can test some of them!
Can you please share your Weber Bird recipie?
Usually I am 7.5-8 on Pietro, water at 88c, 3:30 steep with agitation at the start, then pull the plunger up over about 30s. Fantastic cups!
Love this! Where’s some good coffee for Hamilton/Toronto Ontario Canada?
In Hamilton, have you checked out One for All and Phin? Two incredible cafes with a regular curation of notable international roasters. I wish I could go more often, definitely worth checking them out!
Seconded on these two reccs. Also, Detour!
@@coreywu2621 done! ✅
Highly recommend finding a local coffee bean store it changed everything for me.... Most groceries stores don't have great beans sadly
Rogue Wave is my favourite local roaster, are you YEG? How can I become 'company over'?? 🤣
I love rogue wave but I’m in Ontario!
Second Zerno one for spro one for filter 😂 Daddygotcoffeeequipment
