Im a man and 39 years old, but this gave me tears in my eyes. I was a young firefighter in training (17Y), had a few basic courses, and this was my first assignment. I remember that 23Y young girl....She wanted to commit suicide and rammed a tree with her car at full speed. I was next to her and at that moment she had changed her mind and wanted to live....but we had no chance :-( I will never forget her face nor her last words.
I went through a divorce after 26 years of marriage; this song sums up all the rage, betrayal, regret, and sadness I feel. I have wanted her to "burn with me" for this betrayal. I realize I have to let her go as an act of love and getting on with my own life. Ultimately, death (marriage or actual) is final and all you have left is memories.
Don't understand how rock/metal heads hate this music and complain about every detail of every song, I've been a Metal head for only 3 years and love anything from super soft Simple Plan and Fabor Drive to BFMV, Within Temptation and A7X to crazy Heavy like Impending Doom, Whitechapel, Kataklysm, .. You name it. So when I first heard The Nexus by these guys I was like, "hell ya this shit rocks!" Seriously people, the more you learn to love more kinds of music the better off you'll be. Instead of looking and sounding like whining and complaining children with nothing better to do you'll be able to listen nonstop to so much good bloody music out there and actually enjoy your life. Amen, brother. One thing I've learned in my 14 years of metalheadness is that some metalheads are the most elitist pricks you can possibly imagine. It's all "oh, this isn't heavy enough to be TRUE metal..." "if it doesn't stick to THIS EXACT FORMULA it can't be metal..." blah blah blah... you only have to look at the negative reactions to Babymetal to see how pathetic the metal elitists are and I just feel like screaming "dude, just shut the fuck up and enjoy the damn music!" If you like it, great, if not, then piss off and leave those of us who do to go about our business... it's like they don't know where the big red X button in the corner of their web page is lol

I love how people complain about bands always sounding the same, but then turn right around and complain about bands trying something new... I love coming back to this song every few months, for a tear, and a shiver from that solo. The song is perfect: drums, amazing bass line, lyrics, both singers..... its simply one of my faves
Male cleans scream hard-rock, female cleans scream pop, screams are somewhere between metalcore and death metal, instrumental is somewhere between hard-rock, power metal and metalcore. I don't even know what to think, I can't get hooked on it, but I can't say I don't dislike it from track to track. Definitely talent here.

Ignis King serius/xm has been playing them on octane. They started with the segment "when worlds collide" and then put them in the regular rotation. Drop Dead Cynical made top ten on their countdown and Digital World is around 12 or so now. They used to be my favorite band nobody ever heard of but now they are getting some play time and people have heard of them. I did stumble on them like you said though.
What an epic song, my favorite of Amaranthe. I both love the voices - Elize is a georgeous vocalist - and the musician skills of the whole band. Besides that, I also love songs with some short, iconic parts. I absolutely fell in love with that one bassnote right before the first chorus 😍😍 (btw the whole bassline is great). For me this song reminds me of my best friend who passed away 2 almost 3 years ago (at the time of this comment). The face of the male singer at the end of the song when he realized that his final words to Elize’s character was words of anger he regretted it. The point that I am trying to make is don’t do things that you will regret doing or in my case not doing. I never told my best friend how I felt about her before she passed. So I live with that regret.
BRAVO ACTUAL Actually I feel the same. I like some male vocalists voice's as Tony Kakko or Roy Khan, but I prefer voices as Elize, Jansen or Cristina. A possibility is that you like it because their voices are relaxing and sweet.

This particular song is not power metal, more pop rock. They do have many others that are power/industrial metal. They are officially classified as pop rock/power metal overall.
Is pop metal a genre? Is this the new top 40 pop-rock, sounds a bit commercial, but forget about all that. Elize Ryd could sing country or rap and I'd still love watching her.

Sad to see that people are still fighting over what to call Amaranthe. Are they metal? Are they pop? They could be called yodeling squirrels for all I fucking care, but I'd still listen to them. Why? Simple: Because I believe that all music is worth listening to. Besides, labels mean absolutely nothing. Take pop for example. Anyone remember (or know, at least) Madonna, Prince, MJ, Abdul? They were pop in their day. Listen to a song from their early albums, then turn on the radio. You wouldn't think the shit they play on the radio would be called pop. You'd probably think it sounded like a bunch of computer noises fucking. Music changes over time, people, so to sit back and say that "this isn't metal, this is poser" just proves how very little you know about metal or music in general. If you really feel like metal has to fit inside the lines of your ignorant labels, then go back to your Zeppelin and your Priest.

Arzog der Schänder as a college student, I deeply wish that I could afford to buy all my hundreds of favorite CDs. However, for most people we simply cant afford it. I do choose to pay for a streaming service since I know it pays a little at least, which is more than just ripping off RUclips like many others. Hopefully one day I will be able to buy all the music I love
It's like a medium sized independent corporation, acting as a soul entity, brought the theatrics back to metal on a Iron Maiden / Kind Diamond level and added a dash Thrash Metal, Power Pop Nineties-esqu vocals and Drama worthy of TNT....and I absolutely love it.

This particular song is not power metal, more pop rock. They do have many others that are power/industrial metal. They are officially classified as pop rock/power metal overall.

Sad to see that people are still fighting over what to call Amaranthe. Are they metal? Are they pop? They could be called yodeling squirrels for all I fucking care, but I'd still listen to them. Why? Simple: Because I believe that all music is worth listening to. Besides, labels mean absolutely nothing. Take pop for example. Anyone remember (or know, at least) Madonna, Prince, MJ, Abdul? They were pop in their day. Listen to a song from their early albums, then turn on the radio. You wouldn't think the shit they play on the radio would be called pop. You'd probably think it sounded like a bunch of computer noises fucking. Music changes over time, people, so to sit back and say that "this isn't metal, this is poser" just proves how very little you know about metal or music in general. If you really feel like metal has to fit inside the lines of your ignorant labels, then go back to your Zeppelin and your Priest.

Arzog der Schänder as a college student, I deeply wish that I could afford to buy all my hundreds of favorite CDs. However, for most people we simply cant afford it. I do choose to pay for a streaming service since I know it pays a little at least, which is more than just ripping off RUclips like many others. Hopefully one day I will be able to buy all the music I love

It's like a medium sized independent corporation, acting as a soul entity, brought the theatrics back to metal on a Iron Maiden / Kind Diamond level and added a dash Thrash Metal, Power Pop Nineties-esqu vocals and Drama worthy of TNT....and I absolutely love it.
