Protip for anyone who decides to play this (or Innocent Sin). You don't actually have to fight for exp separately from when you negotiate for cards. If you kill demons before you parley with one for their Arcana cards, you'll still get exp from the ones you killed along with the cards. It's only when you negotiate right away without killing anyone that you don't get EXP along with cards (since a successful negotiation ends the fight)
@@laserwow can you download it directly from your ps vita store or do i need to buy it on a ps3 then download it to ps3 and then transfer it to ps vita?
Personally, I felt the Innocent Sin PSP remake was very slow and clunky compared to the original two. I'm glad they kept most of the original system in the EP PSP port. I would even say the PSX version of IS is better than the recent port, In my opinion
This is my first Persona game. I just bought it last night for $3.99 (in the psn store). I've heard the series are really famous. So, I hope they're that good as people say they are. ( I Haven't played it yet). Good review by the way.
Raul Rodriguez first of all thanks for the reply, and okay I'll give it a try. My comment was a month ago and, funny. I only got to... Really don't remember but I really liked the game a lot. I just didn't have time to play it. And I sold my PSP to buy a Laptop. LoL. But thanks though. Any other games with awesome stories (I can play on PC)?
To be fair, the only voice in this game that I thought was horrible was Tatsuya during that FMV cutscene, and even then, he sounded decent outside of that imo.
+HylianBelmont Actually I just replayed it recently and while his voice was fine he actually sounded awkward in places I didn't even remember him sounding "UGH! but it's not too LATE!" I suppose I'll just pin the blame on the awkward voice direction the game received as even guys like Wittenberg and Lani Minella didn't sound as good as they could have.
Thumbs up, TJ. BTW, what was the very brief movie reference made in the middle of the review. The one about staring into the sun and then doing math problems really fast. Anyone know? It's not 'A Beautiful Mind', right?
I can't say about the first 2 games but persona 3 portable has a few cameos that connect to persona 4 but overall they are not connected stories just set in the same world
it is connected somewhat. They have thier own charachters and stories. but you may see a cameo appearance. like in persona 3 for psp briefly or in persona 4 arena where you can play as some of persona 3 charachters.
I don't know if it's correct to say they are all connected, they all take place in the same universe and share some common themes, but generally the plots are unrelated.
3 and 4 at least exist in the same universe, though whilst the two's storylines are not connected that has been some crossover like events from Persona 3 and locations from P3 being mentioned in 4 but only a fan would probably notice as their vague references. I can honestly say you can play 4 before 3 and not have any issues with plot as all the main characters and the plot is unique to that game, same with P3. P2 I have no clue on having not played it. And than there's P4: Arena on PS3/360
The fighting is your standard turned based gameplay sans the negotiating with demons. Navigating the menus is clunky though. That's my only real gripe and thing I'm glad they fixed in P3 and 4. Also, everyone in your party can switch persona unlike the latter 2 games in the series
shin megami tensei 1 and 2 are connected. as for shin megami tensei if...isn't connected it is just simply a "what if" type of story. but you are correct about persona 1 and 2(innocent sin and eternal punishment) are connected.
This is a pretty old series so it deserves some slack since 90% of JPRGs of the time were traditional. If you can ignore the clearly dated gameplay and just enjoy the plot then you'll have fun. Just be prepared to grind and grind if you want stronger persona and to get your own level up
I know right Ulala and Katsuya are the best, also all of the badguys do a fantastic job. It's all incredibly over the top and it fits the games mood and atmosphere perfectly.

I had no idea and was just about to start this from scratch again since it's been two years since I started it for a short burst. Thanks! You rock!
Im playin it now in 2020 and I kind of enjoy the classic games more than the newer ones
nesto gevara agree, just buying games to slowly build up the collection but really enjoying the older games as well

I played this RPG years ago along with the 1st Persona and it's sad no one knew about it back in the day, until the famous P3

You should play Innocent Sin before Eternal punishment.

I don't think this is available in any form in the UK. Innocent Sin is, seemingly. Do they need to both be played for the narrative to make sense?
Just change your account to a U.S account. Games here are much cheaper. Just got the game for like 5 bucks.

is it worth playing since i only played P3, P3P, P4, P4G, and Persona Dancing all night?
Oh trust me, it is, though it might be more difficult to get used to the game, the story is really cool
