It makes me wonder if the Savage Stevens 334 offering is the same quality as the ATA offering. I know the trigger isn't the stock wood looks to be the same just not a thumbhole the bolt on the .243 Winchester I have was a bit hard to close when new after some lubrication of the lugs and shooting it has improved. I can't get the velocities I would like being limited to a 20" tube. Even with the trigger mine came with I have managed to pull off some really good groups with handloads at 100 yards the best with 87 grain Berger VLD Hunting loaded with Varget also 58 grain Barnes loaded with Winchester 760. Five shot group of the 87 grain measured .741" four of the group measured .244 the 58 grain measured .675 with an average speed of 3412 fps not quite a max load. The trigger is the biggest handicap of the sample I have the single screw adjustment doesn't lower the pull weight just the engagement. I scoped the barrel of mine with a Teslong scope and I was impressed with the condition very light tool marks that will most like polish out after use and it is easy to clean after break in. I thoroughly cleaned it after every 20 rounds until I hit around 80-100 rounds. I did add a rail portion to the front of the stock for an Atlas bipod and a padded cheek rest other than that it is just like I received it. I would likely buy an ATA they have more options than Savage offers and look like solid rifles.

Nice looking rifle. Thank you for sharing. You mentioned 6.5 Cre in some references, but I have a question outside of this greatly anticipated review. I have both 6.5 Creedmoor and the .260 Remington, but I have always been interested in the 6.5 X 55 Swede. Have you ever had the privilege of shooting a rifle in 6.5 Swede, and if so, how does it compare to 6.5 Creedmoor. Accuracy, Recoil? Thank you once more
There is a recent swede article on the channel and I own a swede and have owned another in the past. I also own two 260's. They all project similar bullets at similar speeds and the design of the rifle and stock overall has far more bearing on character than the cartridge itself.
Yes, the character has played a big role in my overall satisfaction of the 6.5 Creedmoor and. 260. 9:30 One is a Franchi 6.5 and the other is M77 Ruger .260. I shot a 6.5 Swede 30 years ago and love it. I remember it kick a bit, but it was accurate. It was a old Sako TRG 41. In the states, I could not find for sale. Well, there is still Tikka T1x Hunter available! 😅 Thank you for your time.
