Just a correction on your insider trivia fact. Ford didn't initially reach out to Toyota to license their HSD technology. Ford began developing their own eCVT hybrid drivetrain, and when they realized their engineers had basically come up with Toyota's same design, they reached out to Aisin to license the technology from them rather than switch gears and build their own version. So, the transaxle is basically the same as you'd find in a Camry or Highlander hybrid (slightly different in the 4WD models as those use a driveshaft and a driven rear axle instead of an independent rear e-axle) but everything else is Ford.
You were correct that Nissan did license the tech from Toyota instead of attempt development. Ford also no longer uses the Toyota eCVT in their hybrids as they've now developed their own non-patent-infringing version.
Good demo sir, I hope I can get a similar model and in good condition.
Nice little Escape.
I love this car
