Do note that the Motion Boom Plus has app support and you can create a custom EQ to your personal preference. The Skullcandy Barrel has no app support for custom EQ.
That doesn't matter because there is an app called flat EQ that sounds better than soundcore's app. At least that is my firm opinion lol. I love the 10 band equalizer. Makes it like Burger King I can have it My way lol

@@JaysStraightUpReviews Yes but the app typically has three band EQ but the one I use has 10 band EQ. I wish I could demonstrate it to you. It sounds remarkable so good 😊

@@mattelvislindsay1326 I'm familiar with a 10 band EQ...lol. The Soundcore app EQ for the Motion Boom has a 9 band EQ, which I guess you were unaware of. 😩

I like bass, quite a lot, but dont like it to blur the mids and highs when they're present.
MBP has slighlty clearer mids and highs. Barrel has slightly deeper bass.
I actually like both performances and at times sounded very similarly.
Depending on my mood or genre or song I'd listen to one or the other.
I think you chose the absolute peak of sound test songs. They bring out so many differences no matter which speakers are being compared. Keep it up!
Thank you for the kind words. I occasionally get a complaint about music played, but some people don't understand about copyright music restrictions.
Putting in the work. Listening through my barrel they both sound good but the barrel sounds more natural as in less processed.
I think the Barrel being the bigger speaker with larger drivers makes it perform with less effort, shall we say.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews sound quality can be subjective. I'll be honest though lol. Numbers don't lie. And 79 is a number I like when it comes to buying a good sounding Bluetooth BOOMBOX. Just think of this: at $79 the barrel is still $300 cheaper than the $379 JBL BOOMBOX 3. HOW INSANE IS THAT? Yes the BOOMBOX 3 is a little better, but in my opinion it's not $300 better. Maybe $150 better at the most. And even that is debatable, in my opinion. I mean until you get to 60% the boombox 3 is basically just an average sounding speaker. The barrel, on the other hand, sounds pretty awesome until you get above 60%. Above 60% the barrel sounds decent, but not fantastic

In my opinion JBL has some of the lowest distortion out there practically in audible.. almost no distortion when you have a JBL. I think what makes the school candy so amazing and sorry my phone is misspelling is the cheap price. Combined with decent sound and pretty darn good bass. I'm kind of wondering though if it's such a good speaker how can they afford to give it away for $79 lol
That Soundcore Motion Boom Plus blows for its compact size, and can fit in tighter places outside and blast away!

It's the dual mics on the Sony Xperia 1 IV. The phone has a great camera and mics.
I haven't pulled out the motion boom plus in a while. The last update to the speaker it sounded like it lost some bass and volume and never really pulled it back out. Have you had an update lately? Because yours sounds pretty good.
I haven't updated the firmware on the Boom + in a long time and it showed I was up to date when I broke out the speaker for this video. I guess they quit updating it.

With the boom 2 just being released, I'll wait top see if there is a boom plus 2 released.
I wouldn't expect that to happen, but Soundcore does like to release new speakers more than any company I can think of.

Hello, recently I was watching your videos, that Skullcandy Barrel XT caught my attention with its design so im interested to know more about this speaker, how good it is with bass o deeper bass. Is true that it has a "hiss" sound when no playing any song?, i saw someone demonstrating that, im concerned if that is true, im deciding about buying this Skullcandy or the JBL Encore Essential. I really appreciate your response.
A hiss or white noise sound playing through Bluetooth is common. Some have it louder than others, however. I did a Barrel vs Encore comparison video, so check it out.

I just got the notion boom 2 for the beach, did i make the right decision?
That should be good. You don't want to lug around a heavy Boombox to the beach and the Boom 2 is good for it's size.
The boom plus sounds like its further away in the background whereas the barrel sounds closer and has more clarity but I didnt use headphones.

depends on room size the soundcore with proper eq is much better then signature eq and ofc must be small room for 3 of it to shake walls
