The wood piece with the owl on, it is likely to hold a recipe card, but would also work great for propping up a cell phone!
That’s a good idea, not many people use recipes cards anymore. Our mom still does
The wood block with the black owl on it holds receipe cards.
I have a box of receipes on index cards. My favorites are smeared with the ingredients of my cooking. It wouldnt have happened if I'd had the owl block 😂.

Years ago, I used to make those broomstick horses for the kids. They were really cute, and much nicer than store bought ones.
It just about makes me cry when I see RUclipsrs pass up brass candlesticks. When I list them them on Marketplace they sell instantly. Can’t get enough pairs of them.

The cat plaques are from the 70's and 80's. They sold SO many, everyone had them! I still have 2 of mine...not cats.

NP, it is usually marked Waterford. You can tell the difference after awhile high quality vers low

Omigosh that tote with the lucite handles was just like ones my mom and I had and we used them when we went on vacation to Alaska back in the 60's

I meant to say something about this before. When you were looking at the fish it had a wire hanger on the back of it. Apparently, it's the worst thing you can put on the back of a plate or a charger. Instead use plate stands.

The spiral thing that you picked up @18:05 is a "courting candle holder."
They were a sort of 'timer.'
Parents of young people who were courting would turn the wooden plug to raise or lower the length of the candle, which would determine how much time the lovebirds were allowed to spend together lol Once the candle burned down to the holder, it was time for them to bid adieu.
Primitive courting candles are hand forged; the one in this vid looks like a newer reproduction and the iron looks kindof cheap and thin.
Courting candles usually have a bottom and handle like a chamberstick.

It's a dinner gong(or bell)and mallet stand. Looks antique.
