Just subscribed to your channel, but do me a favour and turn the music off while your talking, i want to listen to what you have to say.
The deos has earned its money , makes our jobs so much easier
I love mine, how long have you had yours?
@@DecorDev I cant remember the month , but about two years now , I bought the deos and deros at the same time , couldn't be without them now , got a great deal at my local johnstones centre
Cool fantastic video with the music and all ! Super!

It's is a great product available from Isomat in Guildford 👍👍
Good video but your music is too loud to actually hear what your saying.
More of the same pls! 👍 music really loud carnt really hear u
Sorry about the music, I will try harder next time lol glad you liked it tho
Nice vid . Music a bit too loud though. Nice to see another painter using the Staalmeester . Great brushes.👍
Really pleased you liked the video, we love the Staalmeester, sorry about the music. Any ideas for future videos would be great 👍
The string will still move unless you strengthen the fixings that attach it to the wall.
If that is not possible, surely the string will still move enough to crack the paint
Most if not all paint, solvent or water based will crack over time, and I'm not aware of stretchy paint
It will probably go the same way after a few years.
On the fence with this one
Mastic tub nozzle pushed on a metal foam gun for amazing control with foam is worth keeping on van for gaps prior to mastic. Chippy trick that one for filling gaps. Is this mastic the same as CT1? Also toolstation sell puraflex 40, is that the same product?
I can buy CT1 local although £11. One other tip is to mask up wall and wood prior to mastic application can help especially if you're not good with a gun. Great video though. Thanks :) I'm going to look this product up now...
Hows it going mate ??
What method do you use for bad cracks in ceilings ??
I sometime use scrim tape but can be very time consuming on jobs with alot of cracks..also tried toupret fibcryl but fails after a week
I would spray with pva then expanding foam then caulk or powder filler
👍
Great vid mate, nice bit of work there. I was using Fibracryl for stuff like that, will give the stuff you used a try next time. Cheers 🍻
It takes a bit of getting to know, but it is really good stuff
Rake out crack, wet in with pva diluted. Inject expanding foam, cut it back and fill or use caulk. Movement is stopped between stringer and wall and therefor no more cracking! That’s my 2 cents! Works for me. Problem is flexible caulk will flex but u less the paint is also flexible you will just get cracking of the paint on caulk. Or crazing effect as it’s known as
Thats where this PU40 is great saves all that work
I used this method and it did work mostly but I've had a couple of cracks come back between the string and the filler. I think next time I decorate il repeat and use hybrid sealant instead of caulk
Hi. Excellent video i like the look of the mirkas can you recommend best kit to but for woidwork and walls and dust extractor kit. Thanks john
John we started with the round Deros which was great for walls and pretty good for woodwork, and then after a few months of saving brought the rectangular Mirka sander with the 20mm pad saver which is amazing for architraves etc. As far as extraction we use the Nilfisk extractor from Screwfix it looks exactly like the yellow and black 5mirka one except its blue and black. I hope this helps?
TJ Painting and Decorating thanks thats a great help. Me and my son listen to your podcasts every week. I think there great but could you do a topic on brushes for oil and water based paint
Fair play if you’re on a job like this, no point me using it though as I’m a new build house painter & id just fill the wall down to the string with filler then thin bead of caulk if needed.
Mind you I’m not surprised that stringer had cracked it looked like they’d used a catapult to apply it the amount you had to cut out.
There was loads on there wasn't there?
TJ Painting and Decorating
Yeah 😂 good job though guys.
Where did you get your caulking gun from please
thx for the tutorial bro! maybe check your audio levels a bit next time tho. in a nice way
In a situation like this, you need to apply something that will hold the wall and siktting board first which is expansion foam before you will apply the silicone
Where can you buy the isomat from? Always having problems with the stringa cracking! Love the videos and podcast 👍
Thanks Tom 🙏👍 we are lucky they arte in Guildford not far away from us, you can call them on 01483 51 11 13 👍 I hope that helps?
@@DecorDev so directly from them then? That's great thanks
not used courk on stringers for years as you can see courk cracks and splits. is this new stuff with flex better than using foam to bond the stringer back to the wall as i cant see courk doing anything to settle the shocks in the stringers just giving the customer an extra few years before the problem starts again. great vid by the way
Thanks for your comments, yes the Isomat caulk stays flexible. Ideal for stair stringers!! It has to be one of the worst jobs doesn't it?
@@DecorDev thats great m8 i will re-think on my next job. Yes my job im just finishing the hall and stairs had gaps of upwards 1.5inch in places and the flat is over 100yrs old with all plaster and cement off most of the wall, down to brick. would have saved me days of work if i used the caulk. cheers tip and vid again m8ty.
The trouble is with caulks that are this flexible is the paint film always cracks once over painted due to so much movement
Ct1 👍
Totally forgot about those guys, will try them next time 👍👍🙏
What is the multi tool called you are using.
It's the Purdy Multitool it's soooo handy, once you get one you'll wonder how you got on without one!! Here is the link amzn.to/2sZBms2
Music bit distracting, great tips don't need the music
Cant make out what your saying due to the music
Where can you buy this from please?
The music is too loud
Love the tunes!!!
@@DecorDev Me too, just makes listening to your good advice difficult and annoying 🤕
Yeah sorry I did get carried away, hopefully got a bit better since.
Music unnecessary and mixed too loud to audio, I just want to skip.
+The Agenda thanks for your feedback 👍👍
Can’t hear you because of the awful music.
