Dunno if this counts, but the Leviathan in Devil May Cry 3. It eats Dante in a cutscene, you spend an entire level inside it, and end that level by killing it's three hearts.
I think the biggest lesson we can all learn from this video is CHEW YOUR DAMN FOOD!

to be fair to cronos, he did eat literally all his children which was only the entire greek mythos save for zeus, poseidon and hades and it worked pretty well in trapping the rest of his kids, maybe he thought eating kratos would trap him as well

I immediately noticed you didn't add DMC3, where you have to literally kill a leviathan by going through its body, and attacking it's heart, then bursting out, ergh, through its eye.

Despite most player characters having cool abilities, it seems like a lot of bosses in video games like to take those powers away.
Like Miitopia's Dark Lord. Come on man, you already kidnapped my buddies! You don't need to put salt in my already large wound in the heart & seal my powers away! Fighting without my mates already is traumatic! And three times in a row? Like, *WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?*

7:08 Speaking of Heart of Darkness, do a list of E rated games that should be a bit higher. If you haven't already... In some of the death scenes, the first encounter to that boss, he ripped you in half and you might think you even saw his inners, or when you were it when one of the shadow crawlers start eating the protagonist.
This is a much different list than bosses that killed *us* on the inside... RIP Sif.

@@HovektheArtist nah, still feel the Boss's death as sadder and more heart wrenching. Joker already dieded when you incinerate him and locking hin away in Bat's head was just a representation of the Bat beating back his own fears and whatnot.
The Boss on the other hand... she knew her mission was to dje amd be remembered as a monster and your mission is to deliver that fate to her.
What about Mari and Luigi: Partners in Time? There's one segment where you're eaten by a giant purple alien dinosaur and you have to spend a whole level in his stomach with all the Yoshis in Yoshi village so you can push a big rock into a hole, forcibly getting yourself pooped out by the dinosaur.
For that matter i think that Mario and Luigi inside story Will be a better Fit... Is a whole game around this concept
Fun fact: Some animals, including extinct dinosaurs, swallow stones to help digest food! The gizzard stone helps grind down food for animals lacking suitable teeth.

The only game I played that had me going into a boss' stomach (somewhat) is Okami, when the player had to steal the Dragon Orb inside the Water Dragon. It's strangely scenic inside

There are two segments in Okami when you go inside of bodies to fight - 1: the emperor's body and 2: the Water Dragon. Both are unpleasant levels for different reasons. And in neither do you actually fight the creature/person whose body you're in. Unless you count dissolving the Water Dragon's innards in acid or hitting the emperor's uvula to get him to spit you up. But technically Blight is a boss that you fight in the emperor's body and the Water Dragon kind of counts as a boss, right? lol.
Idk if anyone remembers but in lost planet 2 you literally have to crawl inside the mouth of a boss and try to deal a ton of damage before you get shot out of its ass. And you have to do it multiple times. That one stuck with me.

Eh...basically every game with a blank slate main char. Way too many to choose from. Though you could make it only about main characters with a personality. No Gordon Freemans, Samuses or XCOM commanders.

I’m going to disagree on the blank slate characters. I find that they, in my mind at least, reflect my personality. They become like a mirror to me, and I find myself relating to them because I see myself in them.

First you shrink down to fight a demon inside the belly of Sei'An City's emperor, and later you jump down the throat of a water dragon to find a sacred artifact... and also fight a demon. Old habits die hard.
Yeah, but you don't kill the emperor. You just kill the dragon, although that was an accident.
Heart of Darkness! This game was so good. One of the first game I played when I was young.. I'm not sure I finished it though, I remember finding it really hard.

A family friend would let us borrow his games, but wouldn't let us touch that one. He's not religious, but he said it was evil. He was also a new father at that point, so seeing a child maimed every ten seconds was probably rough.

You know, bosses like this one in Metal Gear Solid (I think it was Psychomantis but not sure) who predicted your movements before you did them and was unbeatable... unless you plugged your controller into the 2nd gamer port.

@@LordBloodraven I know, but troughout the whole game the game showed Lavos as this gigantic monster that flew from earth. It's only at the very end that we found out that it's the thing inside the shell. Plus, it's still Lavos' shell ao in a sense you do go inside it, at least part of it
What about Path of Exile's mountain-sized "The Beast"?
You fight your way through its intestines, gathering organs to unlock the path to its three hearts. Then you have to fight the Beast's creator on a tiny flesh island, in a sea of blood, in order to destroy the hearts and kill the Beast!
Later in the game you have to venture through its guts again, although this time, it is already dead. Unfortunately, that does not make the task _less_ gross.
Was going to post exactly this if I didnt find it already mentioned. Seriously, that dungeon is one of the most visually disgusting places I've ever seen in a video game, and needs to be inflicted on even more people!

You know, the way Ellen sometimes breaks into laughter is just the most adorable thing
Lost Planet 2, meet the Gordiant. A giant salamander Akrid that can eat you whole, which is basically *required* after the crystal on its back outside (read: the 1st weak spot). In there, you shoot the blobs attached to its walls, spewing stomach acid at you, while fighting against the current of its insides. There’s also lesser Akrid in there. Shooting said blobs raises up the crystals. But at the end of the beast you get crapped out, shot out its tail.
Link goes inside Jabu-Jabu's belly twice: first in Ocarina of Time, and then a second time in Oracle of Ages.
True, but the boss isn't Jabu-Jabu himself, at least in Ocarina. I don't think it counts. Otherwise, we could similarly include the Great Tree also from Ocarina of time.

And now, everyone has had the opportunity to experience that, whether through the official remake or the *slightly* better fan remake.
Happens surprisingly often in skylanders aswell, in swap force you take down the fire viper by being swallowed and attacking its heart. Then later in the same game. You defeat giant evilized kaos in probably the most disgusting battle in history. Step 1. Smash his giant toenails. Step 2. Get eaten and smash his teath when he tries to chew you. Step 3. Get sneezed out and fall into his ear to beat up his brain. Step 4. Launch yourself out of a cannon to hit him in the forehead and defeat him. This whole time you get a nice view of His heart underwear
Does that part in South Park: The Stick of Truth when you, uh, enter Mister Slave to disarm a nuke count as a boss battle?
Oh. & The achievement for using the Mr Slave summon whilst inside Mr Slave
And that you can friend Big Gay Al by answering the cell phone stuck inside Mr. Slave. Yuck.

Make a list about bosses that you did all the work but somebody else killed (Devil May Cry 5's Goliath for example)
Tiago Silva Magicka has a good example of this, with a Star Wars reference.
Also happens with Miraak from Skyrim. This game is a funny example because I remember once when I was close to killing a nameless dragon when one of the village guards mounted his head and performed the execution animation.
Or when you killed a boss during a fight but didn't in the cut scene....Darksiders 3. Or vice versa....Deus Ex Human Revolution.
There's also that wierd ape thing in Devil May Cry 3. He even steals the weapons you would have gotten!

Wooow that is a deeeep cut. That's the only magic School bus book I had as a kid! Kinda a dark over tone looking back at it, Arnold was left feeling abandoned for the whole day!
I think I still have that episode memorized. I was a serious magic school bus kid. It was the 90s. I was only allowed to watch pbs. My childhood was excellent, I think. Ms. Frizzle was my best friend.

I was about to shout "BLASPHEMY!!!" when Old Ms Frizzle shows up and explains that this is her younger (slightly hotter) relative (I think sister, but could have been cousin, or niece, can't recall), and that Classic Friz got a promotion and is passing the torch to New Friz.
Unfortunately, they dumped the smart, quiet, white girl Phoebe for another ethically diverse character. I would have watched more of it, but by now I'm a 34 year-old man and have better things to do with my time. 😋

‘heart of the hive’ from Broforce. Great game, great characters, lots of aliens. One of the first alien bosses you fight is finally killed by going INTO its mouth and destroying its heart from the inside

Gosh, I really hope StarFox Adventures gets remade for the switch. That was the first StarFox game I ever played, and it would be so great to see it again on there! There are things I hope they’d add to a remake, as well.

Yeah, killing that thing after I cured it of demonic infection is something I definitely remember happening.
You forgot Turok 2: Seeds of Evil's boss, "The Blind One."
You enter this thing's stomach where it drops in larvae, spews stomach acid and whips tentacles at you like a Japanese adult anime monster.
The nastiest part is that its eye is lodged in the ceiling of the stomach.
There are so many things wrong with this thing's anatomy.
Can't forget the Alien Hive Mind from Dead Space 3. You go inside it twice. First to shoot it with data probes, and then during the boss battle to kill it.
5:56 I almost cried because what happened to Carmine.
Carmine kinda horrifies me because his character is clearly included just to die to prove things are serious, but also to just be shrugged off. The guys joke to Carmine about wearing a helmet getting you shot by snipers, which was how a previous Carmine died. I know humor is a coping mechanism, but damn. Carmine is just a normal guy doing his best without plot armor, and he gets butchered, and realistically that would be my fate.

I loved Heart of Darkness back in the day, I had a copy of it for PC. My favorite memory of it is playing the PS1 version on a demo kiosk in a store, rushing through the story to where the first disc ended and then leaving the demo kiosk on the "Please Insert Disc 2" screen. Luckily, there were other kiosks there for kids to play with.

You’re forgetting Skylanders:Swap Force. Kaos turns himself into a shadowy giant, and proceeds to eat the player in the 2nd phase of the fight. You fight inside his mouth as he swallows killer robots to finish you off. Once don in there, proceed to his brain where you beat up his subconscious, and win.
I haven't seen Gears 2 giant worm for a loooong time. What a throwback, and on a Thursday of all days(for me).
One of the first bosses I remember fighting from the inside is Amorbis from Metroid Prime 2.

Just wanted to say thanks. You guys do a lot more for people's mental health than you'll ever realize. I got sick a few weeks ago and now my heart is being wonky. I've been really depressed and it's hard to do anything. I put your videos on to distract my mind while I try to live my life. There's also a raid boss in Vindictus called Lakoria where a few players occasionally have to fight the boss from the inside.

How can you forget Insidious from Bayonetta 2? You go through an entire level & a half, destroying its insides until it gruesomly splits apart into a million pieces of demon flesh & a huge cloud of blood.

Oh Heart of Darkness. How lovely it is to see one of my favourite childhood games acknowledged. Yes, CHILDhood games. I was probably not even 11+ when I trembled my way through it. The nostalgia is real. I still know all the cut-scene dialogue by heart.
And no, I am not traumatized by seeing Andy get snapped in half and the sucked into the holes of those terrible rock-wall-worm thingies, why do you ask?

In Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn during the World of Darkness 24 man raid, 8 people need to shrink and go inside Cerberus's belly. When you're done he vomits you out and then you feel bad for making a giant 3 headed dog sick while everyone wails on him.
There's also the Alexander raids which happen during Heavensward. All 8 raids take place from within Alexander.
Also, don't forget Sin in Final Fantasy X.

Legend of Legaia was intereting in that the final dungeon is inside of a powerful monster, the only enemy in the game that you never really fight directly. Though I guess it didn't so much swallow you as transform into a 'biocastle' that you go inside.
