Thank you for this tutorial. It worked perfectly. I saved guite a bit of money. I didn’t have to buy a new speaker or have to send mine off for repairs. Plus, while changing the battery, I got all the dust cleaned out of it.
Thx for the comments. It's good to hear that the video helped you save money by doing it yourself. I'll continue making various videos and hope they might others. I'm still using that bluetooth speaker.
Thank you for this tutorial! My old speaker is now working perfectly without plugging it. I broke a few minor parts in the process, there are definitely a few scratches that weren't there before, and it took me over an hour, but I made it, thank you! I'm glad I won't have to throw it away any time soon.
Will the speaker "forget" any previously connected device? I have an old phone which was connected, then broke, and I've been unsuccessful in "resetting" the speaker.
No issues connecting to all devices. I was connecting to an older Samsung phone then last week i got newer Samsung phone and it connected it with not issues. I used the speaker everyday. You can try to press and hold onto the power button to connect to you phone see if that helps.
@tonedubb4325 thanks for the fast reply, I think it needs taking apart anyway as the '+' button is sticking (needs a clean) ... your video has come in really useful.
Not even sure the difference between the two. I thought lithium is lithium. Replacement one is probably some cheapie from China. Only last for a few hours on each charge. Good enough, i guess.
Wow they make you work for that. If only it was external and fixed in place with a screw. My parents one has a failed battery so I'll give this a go next time I'm there.
Thank you, very useful your video! My speaker doesn't work and I was determined to throw it away. I didn´t know it has a battery inside!. I have ordered a new battery. Excited to know if my speaker will work after changing the battery. Thanks again!
Haha, everything that's wireless got a rechargeable battery inside. Except a hammer. Nowadays you can get replacement parts easily. Good thing you didn't toss it away. For a few dollars, your bluetooth speaker is as good as new.
@@tonedubb4325, haha, after my comment I thought: " wait a minute, of course has battery, you have to charge the battery! 🙄" I didn't deleted my comment because it was so "genuinely stupid" 😅 Needless to say, electronics is not my specialty, but at least we've had a few laughs with the speaker battery 🤣
A lot of effort to disassemble in order to get to the battery. I wonder how Sony would have constructed the device if they were legally required to do the replacement upon their Customers' request.

So what are the signs of a bad battery? Mine only turns on when plugged in.
Only works when plugged in. 😆. Or only last for a few minutes on a charge.
Was the original batter lithium ion or lithium polymer?

Didn't want to toss it away. It's a good speaker worth fixing i guess.
how does the bluetooth work. I still love this thing oh yeah!
You press and hold on to the power button until it makes noise to pair. You can instructions online to set it up.

bluetooth doesn't work lol!
Oh.. then i guess it's not worth fixing. Double check the settings. Maybe it's not pairing correctly.
Set your speaker to pairing mode ,blue and red flashing led ,or check on line how to set it to pairing mode.
So so difficult 😭😭😭
Really? Try a hammer. Lol. It wasn't too bad unless you got fat fingers. Hehe.
