I purchased a Titan 2000 5 years ago. It has been a dream! I haven’t had any issues with it other than one front tire had to be replaced. I have 220 hours on her. I do regular service changing oil every 25 hours of use. I went from a 2 acre yard to a 1 acre yard. I’m expecting 20 years of reliable service which should equal the rest of my life. Great job Toro
Love my Toro...dont care what anybody says about em...they are great!!!! I dont have the titan but the timecutter with the Kawasaki...never had one problem 🤷♂️
I love this new Titan Max model. I purchased a 2012 Toro Titan new. It’s got almost 400 hours on it now. I’m having issues constantly. I must admit it’s mainly my fault for not properly storing it out of the elements the past 12 years. It’s a 48 inch commercial which is why the deck has held up without completely collapsing. It does need some sheet metal work done to replace some huge rust areas before it becomes inoperable. Overall I have to say, it was money well spent, considering how long other lawnmowers I’ve owned previously that didn’t last many seasons. Thanks for sharing your video of this awesome 60 inch Max, enjoy it.
I bought a Toro Titan this year beginning of the season and I love it I bought one with the myride seat on it the best thing I ever did for my back... not a big fan of mowing at night everybody in the entire field comes right at your head LOL
Instead of bagging we would take clippings and use them in our garden for weed control, fertilization, and moisture retention. The only work was to turn them into the garden in the spring. Garden output was insane after a few years of doing this... beefsteak tomatoes the size of softballs.
I used to compost them with ground up leaves and chipped tree trimmings. Once composted I used it on the flower beds and lawn. That and some pine straw mulch would grow marigolds you wouldn't believe.
Purchased a Titan 54 in this May. Absolutely love it. As you know, here in North Carolina the grass can stay wet most of the day. Never a problem for the Titan. Putting Gater 3 blades on for the fall. You ought to give them a try. Bye, bye leaves. Love your channel here in Pleasant Garden, NC.
Do you still have it and also whereabouts in North Carolina do you live I am in the market for one but I have yet to find a good Toro dealer. I am torn between doing Toro, X Mark and ironically a Husqvarna. All of which are either a 54 or 60 inch deck. I like the Husqvarna and ex mark dealer near me the most but if I go with ex mark I can only afford a 54 inch deck where if I get a Toro I can get a 60 inch deck. But the nearest Toro dealership is 65 Miles away the ex mark is 45 miles away but it is also within a couple miles of my wife’s work.
@@Yamacamkaw Yes I still have it, and love it. We live in the Greensboro area, and I purchased the mower from B-T South which is located on Groomtown rd in Greensboro. What sold me was the machine is that it’s built like a tank, strong transmissions, great deck, and front and rear tire size. I use mine commercially 8 hours a week, a about 4 hours for family. Super easy to maintain. Zero issues so far with 129 hours. The Exmark is a great mower on paper, never owned one. I didn’t consider other brands after doing my research on machines in my price range.
Wanted the Titan Max in the spring. All the dealers around me were sold out and didn't know when they were getting more. Ended up getting an Exmark Radius E Series for about the same price. The only bad thing about it, was the smaller 22hp engine. I added a suspension platform for the seat and changed the tires to the same ones as the Titan.
@@nalley6815 mine does have the Exmark engine. So far I have 54 hours on it. And it's doing fine. Haven't ran into anything that it couldn't handle though. I did manage to break the little nipple that the oil drain goes onto after changing the oil.
Just found ur channel cus I’m looking to get a zero turn and seen you we’re donating to St Jude it Amazing to see being I’m a patient there “off therapy just go to checkups” definitely earned a active supporter!
I am always impressed wen I drive by the toro testing grounds and see what they put all there equipment through. I have seen them hit stumps, culverts and even football size rocks and keep going!
I agree with your statement about once having used a zero turn you won't want to go back to anything else. I have a zero turn that's been having engine problems that nobody's been able to figure out. As a result I'm using a spare tractor and it's the pits. It's slower than death, a smaller mower deck, and there's no suspension. BUT it's better than nothing. I'm trying a different dealer now hoping they'll be able to figure out the engine problem on the z-turn so I can get that baby back.
I am sure you could probably redrill the mounting plate for your seat and mount it back a little to give you more room. Looks like a nice mower. I believe there are alot of good quality zero turn mowers on the market. I think the key point is to purchase a commercial unit. But most of them will stand up well for the first couple years. The real test of a mower will come 10,15,20 years down the road. My SCAG Tiger Cub is holding up strong and it is 18 years old. Love your channel, keep up the good work.
Exact same machine I bought but without the my ride. Going from a push mower to a 60" toro was like mowing with airplane wings lol. So far, I've bent the direct TV pole, cut a small gash in my shed siding but all in all I'm getting used to the 60" deck and my stripes are getting more straight lololol.
I'm going today to look at a toro walk behind mower for my small mowing buisness because I can't afford a stand-on... glad to see it's a reliable brand!
Have had a Toro Zero turn now for 6 years, 50 inch. I am not gentle on it. I bought this property, and the amount of trees, and shrubs is nothing short of insane. Cut mowing time to a bit less than 2 hours, from 4 hours on ride on type. I have replaced all 3 spindles 3 years ago, and have had to weld and replace some of the hanging gear on the deck. Will no doubt have to replace entire deck within the next couple years. It is only the stamped deck, and has taken a lot of abuse. Well line wrapped in the blades, 3/16 steel rod wrapped in blades, Had to zip cut it out. Thus the spindle replacements. Now as for fuel stabilizer, firm believer in it, and use it all the time. If I go get a jug of gas, I pour some in for everything I use. Side by side, Mower, Log splitter, Golf cart, even put a little in the chainsaw gas before mixing with the oil. I can tell you things run better, start better, and in the case where they sit all winter, it is just a matter of turning the key and away the go after months of sitting. Just got tired of the gas now a days gumming up the carbs after a few weeks and just making it extremely difficult to start anything, and then trying to get it to run right afterwards.
Also looked into the Titan but it was a little out of my price range. Ended up purchasing the Toro Timecutter in March of 2019. Very happy with the machine. We mow approximately 6 acres a week, it has been a pleasure to operate. Also worked on a state owned golf course that used all Toro equipment for their greens, never an issue as far as quality. Very happy with the company.
You got lucky both my toro timecutter50 both drives went out this week after only 80hrs of mowing replacing them under warranty but was told toro said I should upgrade my mower but didn't offer to help me out with the upgrade even though I'm under the acreage they recommend for the mower and it's only just over a year old now
i have a toro super recycler push mower that I got for free 10 years ago and it's probably close to 20 plus years old I had to do a little work on it when i got it but mainly maintenance stuff the previous owner neglected it but after I worked on it it runs great. Toro does build high quality stuff and that's great that you are coming to minnesota to tour them.
My home state. You should check out the Altoz mowers while you're up here. If you like your Toro you will fall in love with the Altoz. Then you have arctic cat and Polaris plants to visit. Yes I do deliver and load out from them and deliver all over the US.
I visited a small farm store in BFE over the summer, and saw one of those for sale for $2500-3000. I remember thinking damn that's a great price for a toro. I still regret not buying it.
I bought my Toro titan with my ride system I absolutely love it best investment I ever made except the steering is so stiff that I can’t hardly mow it for more than an hour
I bet you could bolt extensions to the foot pads made out of heavy sheet metal to extend them forward to give your legs a longer reach.....just a thought
I had a lawn care business the only thing about the Toro mower their belts are so expensive to replace that I always used John Deere & Kubota zero turning in my business when I had it before I retired
I thought buying a small tractor and a finish mower was the way to go, but I found out that a zero turn was a better choice for lawn mowing and my small tractor was better suited to using a brush hog or other implements. If I was to do it over I would have both.
Nice mower! I bought a Kubota ZD1211 last summer for the 4-5 acres I mow in northern Michigan and it’s been great, such an upgrade over the old John Deere riding mower.
When you don't bag your clippings it builds what is called "thatch". It turns brown and makes your lawn look nasty. Plus it becomes a breeding median for pests/insects like lawn moth. You could bag your and the cows would love it as feed.
Way to brighten things up. The only thing I do not like about my Zero is how much junk you get up on you. No I’m not turning against wind just a lot of sand.
We recently bought a Toro and it has the my ride seat (think that’s what it’s called) it’s my first time on a zero turn and it was pretty easy to use. My only complaint is if I let the fields get to long it misses in the middle of where the blades meet up and I’m having to go over area twice 😔 but it could also be operator error lol
@@rayclark8920 That’s what I told my husband, that it shouldn’t be doing that and we just put brand new blades on it thinking the other set was bad but we also just bought this like 4 months ago.
@@Maybe_Crazy05 Well if you hit something hard with it concrete stump something like that it may have bent your deck on your mower causing that problem if you haven’t hit anything they you a deck issue.
@@rayclark8920 hmmm that makes sense, my son did hit a dog proof trap and the mower rip it out of the ground and tore it all up 🤦♀️.. That’s why I changed the blades. The field I was mowing was almost knee high not grass but a weed that looks almost like wheat, I can’t recall the name of it. I ended up taking the flail mower to it because I was getting annoyed having to mow over everything twice. Thank you for all the help, I really appreciate it.
Those lights look cool, but those bolts stick out quite far, and almost exactly at head height.... If you were in a rollover those bolts could cause a lot of damage to your head or face. I'd use shorter bolts that didn't stick out and then fit some sort of cover/padding on the bracket just in case my head hits it.
I have a 1990 jd 265 garden tractor with a 17hp Kawasaki single cold cylinder engine that purrs like a kitten it has mechanical shoe brakes And also, if you need to disengage the hydrostatic transmission, there is a small lever under the transmission near the trailer hitch that all you do is simply pull it gently and then you’re able to push it back wherever you need to go and then to reengage it All you do is hop on the tractor. Start the engine and it will pop back into place , whereas the zturn? you have to manually stop it put the break on pull the sticks out and then pop the two pins out manually and then move that to where it needs to go and then manually push the pins back in and then you can use it, that’s the benefit of my 1990 jd is I don’t need to do all that bullshit

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer you could have done a time lapse on that, Josh. It would have completed the scene, and only added a few short moments to the video.
I have a Toro 54” Timecutter that is great at what it was designed for. My problem is it can’t hold the grade when cutting along my fence line. The mower will steer into the fence and I think the hydros are overhanging. My other problem is I am 272 pounds. 🤣. With the more powerful hydros do you think the Titan Max might be a better option? Obviously you aren’t here to see the conditions. Some angles of cutting are 7 - 10%
Couple of questions for the Toro Experts: 1) I have a 3.5 Acre yard with lots of elevation changes. Any issues with traction ? 2) I am not familiar with Kohler Engines, are they as reliable as Kawasaki engines? Thank you in advance
Kawasaki engines are best. I have the Toro brand engine on my Titan 2000 of which I was told that it was made in China, Yikes! I don’t have any traction issues however if your running in the high RPM range you will experience wheel slippage on sharp turns and reverse motions which can damage fescue turfs. This is just my experience on my 1 acre yard. I wanted the Kawasaki engine however the dealer didn’t have any available at the time. I know a commercial lawn guy and he had a similar model Toro as mine and he had to replace deck bearings and a starter after 200 hours of use. I questioned him about it and he admitted that he was taking it to the car washes a couple of times a week spraying it down which is probably why those issues occurred? Mine has 220 hours without experiencing any mechanical issues. I have never put any water on mine in 5 years.
I would like to see how you sharpen your mower blades. I like to sharpen things. I have sharpened lawnmower blades to the point you could shave with them. I don't recommend it. You can make some fine knifes with lawnmower blades though.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer That's a pretty good tool. If it's throwing sparks it's heating the blade and that bad. I have about 18 Bastard mill files in assorted sizes, shapes, and grit. For files grit is not really the word for it. I have 8 water stones of different grits and sizes. I don't think you quite got my meaning when I say sharp enough to shave. The only thing I use on my Lawnmower blades is a 12 in Bastard Mill File. You should see my draw knifes after I finish stoning them as I call it. I make it a habit to look at them every time I pick one up. The only way to keep from getting stitches. My Old Hickory butcher knifes the same way. By the way the best knife you had was that Boy Scout Knife. It was a Case knife I believe and I use to have one just like it. Some body walked off with it and my folding boy scout knife too.
Hi Josh! Can you remind me what spray you are using? I know you mentioned it once, but I can’t find the video again. Weed and grass control is a big issue for me, but I refuse to spray glyphosate or similar toxins on my property.
I have had a Cub Cadet Z-Force Zero Turn with a steering wheel rather than leavers. Its a bit more stable on hillsides as the Front wheels don't swivel ; We mover to a larger property so I have upgrades to a Ventrac for the large area mowing but I use the Z-force for close trim work. I heard that TORO had bought Ventrac ... Is that true?
Ive had my Toro for about 10 years but had a lot of trouble with battery issues and it trying to start itself even with the key not in it. I have read other folks having the same issue. What's up with that??? Now it will not move at all.
I have had a Toro 4800 titan Z for about five years. Have had to replace the cylinder head twice after multiple push rod failures and last evening, I blew a silver dollar sized hole out the side of my block. I have 5 acres to mow, and it seems to me that's too much area for my mower. I gets too hot. As much as I like the machine, I'm not sure I want to replace the motor. Going to talk to my dealer Monday. Given what I've seen on the internet for cost of engine replacement, I'm not sure I'll stick with Toro.
Josh-you need to find a good woman and have some young uns so all that hard work can become a second and third generation farm. We really enjoy your work.
i know you have done cub cadet in the past, but if you are ever able to could you look into the cub cadet z-force s/sx steering wheel zero turn mowers? been thinking of maybe getting one in the future.

Hello from Minnesota. Love my Toro Z-ture. It's not as fancy as yours but it does a great job!
I have a kubota b2650 with a belly mower. After 2 seasons of mowing I’m considering a zero turn.
yep....you'll cut your mowing time in half
When you don't bag your clippings it builds what is called "thatch". It turns brown and makes your lawn look nasty. Plus it becomes a breeding median for pests/insects like lawn moth. You could bag your and the cows would love it as feed.
The best torooooooooooooo
Way to brighten things up. The only thing I do not like about my Zero is how much junk you get up on you. No I’m not turning against wind just a lot of sand.
Great review
They're fun. Mine can do a wheelie 😁
be careful...not a good idea my friend....had a close family friend get killed on a zero turn
Check your blades to make sure they are not bent and they are sharp. If so you need to have the dealer take a look at it it should not be doing that.
@@rayclark8920 That’s what I told my husband, that it shouldn’t be doing that and we just put brand new blades on it thinking the other set was bad but we also just bought this like 4 months ago.
Slow down a bit and make sure the deck is clean (underneath). Sounds like it’s not getting enough lift.
Love the flag. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for the video. My question is how many hours did you put on the zero turn in 6 months. Will keep watching as you might mention it.
Those lights look cool, but those bolts stick out quite far, and almost exactly at head height.... If you were in a rollover those bolts could cause a lot of damage to your head or face. I'd use shorter bolts that didn't stick out and then fit some sort of cover/padding on the bracket just in case my head hits it.
there's always a way to improve things for sure brotha
That's not high grass, Josh. You can come over and look at my yard!
lol
Josh. You mentioned using an organic compound in the sprayer. Curious what you are using??
I have a 1990 jd 265 garden tractor with a 17hp Kawasaki single cold cylinder engine that purrs like a kitten it has mechanical shoe brakes
And also, if you need to disengage the hydrostatic transmission, there is a small lever under the transmission near the trailer hitch that all you do is simply pull it gently and then you’re able to push it back wherever you need to go and then to reengage it All you do is hop on the tractor.
How do you like your "Tow Behind" Sprayer?
A video on this would be a Great Idea for NEXT Tuesday! (I know that you did a "short one" a while back, just offering a suggestion.
Hello from the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington State!
Josh, you might want some zip ties to neaten up your wiring for your lights.
@@Leveraction-xr4uz we use a lot of them at work (zip ties) and one thing that our boss requires is cutting the tails off when we use them as we cut a point on the end to use them to hang plastic for power washing.
Yep...all was zip tied...didn't show it in the video...had to cut that part out in the interest of time...I used a zip tie gun to ensure they were tight
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer that's good, Josh. I don't picture you as one to take unnecessary shortcuts.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer you could have done a time lapse on that, Josh. It would have completed the scene, and only added a few short moments to the video.
@@danielbigs2224 he replied to me and stated that he did zip tie it, but cut that part from the video for time sake.
How does it handle bumpy yards, i am wanting to switch from my kubota BX2350 tractor to a zero turn but my yard is a little bumpy....
just fine...however if you have a bumpy yard there's tons of solutions out there on youtube for fixing it
My New Mower (Toy)
Man Josh that brown shirt makes you look like a UPS employee. lol
He's retired UPS
lol....if UPS wore grey uniforms I guess...it's my shop shirt....love my Truewerk shirts...so comfy!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I think your shorts color kinda made me see the shirt as brown. I had to take a second look to see grey.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer ahahahahahahaha 🤣 tryna get ya worked up
Very corporate, the Stoney Ridge Corporation.
Some angles of cutting are 7 - 10%
man...I'd have to see it to understand what you'd need brotha
Tell us more about the organic spray you use!
here's a link from my amazon store amzn.to/3wuybt5 (this link earns commissions for the farm)
How many litres of petrol do you use for cutting 3-4 acres? 👍
Seeking you have had both the Toro Titan Max and the Cub Cadet ZTX5 ,if given a choice why one would you choose?
I would like to see how you sharpen your mower blades. I like to sharpen things. I have sharpened lawnmower blades to the point you could shave with them. I don't recommend it. You can make some fine knifes with lawnmower blades though.
check out my vid on shaving with a lawnmower blade!
Wow you do have a lot of grass to mow.
I would turn those Ubolts the other way or cut the ends off. You hit a good bump and bounce you up enough to hit your head on a bolt and OUCH!
Hi Josh! Can you remind me what spray you are using? I know you mentioned it once, but I can’t find the video again. Weed and grass control is a big issue for me, but I refuse to spray glyphosate or similar toxins on my property.
How is that kohler engine holding up? Do they have plastic valve covers? I wouldn’t expect that for a now $7K mower.
For speed...zero turn
I said woooooooo…….😬
I have had a Toro 4800 titan Z for about five years. Have had to replace the cylinder head twice after multiple push rod failures and last evening, I blew a silver dollar sized hole out the side of my block. I have 5 acres to mow, and it seems to me that's too much area for my mower. I gets too hot. As much as I like the machine, I'm not sure I want to replace the motor. Going to talk to my dealer Monday. Given what I've seen on the internet for cost of engine replacement, I'm not sure I'll stick with Toro.
Got a new toro 4000 zero turn. Cannot lower the ROP. Can you show how yours works?
You should ask toro if they can make foot rest extenders
Josh
What stayer is that on the zturn? Size and brand?
Was hear. Wooooo!
Hey Josh. I just bought a Titan Max yesterday. How’s fuel consumption? What are some must haves for this unit? What problems have you had?
I put the light kit on mine....fuel consumption isn't an issue..all around great machine on year 2 now!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer good deal! I’m looking forward to this mower. Looks very beefy and has lots of power! Thanks for your feedback!
Josh-you need to find a good woman and have some young uns so all that hard work can become a second and third generation farm. We really enjoy your work.
Well buddy...let me get through this mess of a divorce before I stick my head in another guillotine

Good thing about men is we don't have that biological clock ticking away.
What is in the sprayer you use on the driveway?
Hey Josh, where has the wife been, have not scene her lately.
Stoney do you know of any zero turn mowers that has eletric or a hydraulic deck lift?
swisher big mow does
i know you have done cub cadet in the past, but if you are ever able to could you look into the cub cadet z-force s/sx steering wheel zero turn mowers? been thinking of maybe getting one in the future.
