Does the type of leather matter? I want to do this on my airforces or my gym red Jordan 1
I’m pretty sure as long as the texture is smooth it would work fine. I’m not 100% sure but I think so. I wouldn’t try it on a tumbler leather because i think that would affect the sanding.

are you able to still paint the suede after ,like if I make white suede will i be able to dye it into a tan color, or will it not take the dye, because its technically leather
That is a great question. I haven’t ever dyed or re-dyed a sneaker so I’m not sure what kind of results you would get. This was the first time I ever tried doing a “custom”
then the university blues were born

Thanks man 👌 after I did 1 sneaker I went and got the sheets of sand paper that can be cut. That made it easier than using the block in the video.

How long did it take you to use the alcohol for the purple to get a distress look? I’ve been doing it for about 5hrs now taking breaks
It didn’t take that long. Make sure it’s isopropyl alcohol. It took me maybe a total of 1 hr to get the desired look. That’s with taking breaks to let it dry.

This only works good on Jordan highs because the leather is very different than the leather on a Jordan mid or low and Air Force ones.

I have seen people do it on other pairs too. I think you can do it on just about any pair that is all leather. 👍

Hahaha I didn’t have isopropyl alcohol and thought that would work 🤦♂️ definitely doesn’t. Rubbing alcohol has been hard to find because of Covid, had to search everywhere.
