    I just bought a pair of RM Williams Blaxland Boots (in my mind theire best option) in a dark brown suede. Gonna be my winter boot together with the C&J Conniston in Rough Out Suede. I'm looking forward to rock the hell out of these!

      @jessupsays  10 месяцев назад +1

      Great choices! I think that probably is the best RM boot honestly, I got the Kanga which is a close 2nd for me. And yeah that Conni is one of the nicest boots out there! I always look at a pair for myself. Enjoy them! Let me know how you go!

    This is so true. As i get older (and my taste get more expensive lmao) i think about what is the most versatile that can be worn more times than for one specific event or reason.
    But my goodness sometimes i slip 😂

    • @jessupsays
      @jessupsays  10 месяцев назад

      Funny how those correlate! More expensive or objectively better? Hopefully the latter lol.
      That "buy it for the event" thing always makes me cringe. But there almost isnt a good option sometimes. e.g. my pair of Aquila Patent loafers. Which I would only use for a Tux (seriously irregularly). It seemed wasteful in that instance to spend >$500 on a pair.

    • @dickwintered
      @dickwintered 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@jessupsays so true man. Speaking of Aquila, how do you rate their quality? I feel like they are way overpriced nowadays for subpar quality and material.

    • @jessupsays
      @jessupsays  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@dickwintered If I'm being honest, they don't even deserve a rating. Even their premium stuff (which is maybe Blake stitched) has some of the worst leather I've ever seen. Its like painted cardboard lol. I wouldn't pay more than what they're worth ($60-80) If you've looking at comparable global options. Man reading this is harsh, but also true. At $200+ its a laughable cash grab. I feel if I made a video about them it would be tooooo scathing hahaha. The ones I referenced have been worn once for 1 day (a wedding) and the sole is fkd already.

    • @dickwintered
      @dickwintered 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@jessupsays yes! Omg. Glad you agree with me. I cannot believe how much they gauge up the price for not much essence. I feel bad for all the men out there who already feel uncomfortable enough with fashion, walking into Aquila thinking theyre being fashionable and spending a lot on shoes that are marketed as premium, but are getting shit house products.
      Although, maybe, you should do a "scathing review" episode HAHA - or maybe not - keep your doors open hey you never know who might want to sponsor you :)

      @jessupsays  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hahaha it's more that any publicity is good publicity. I don't want that haha. But maybe it is worth a think how I could phrase it without it being about them specifically. Food for thought 🤔🤔 but yeah man. It's awful. Garbage, expensive and won't last. It's a sad scam. Maybe another article coming hahaha 🤣

      @@jessupsays I’m trying to find myself a pair of Crockett loafers but impossible to try on as can’t find a store with the range for my size 12 ish foot. Then I can’t decide between leather or city rubber

    • @jessupsays
      @jessupsays  7 месяцев назад

      I'll have to find someone who makes them or gets Magnanni in locally. If I do I will come back to this thread!

    • @jessupsays
      @jessupsays  7 месяцев назад

      Ah! Trying on locally is such a big win, but short of that I've sent traces of both feet to Crockett and Jones directly by their contact page and asked for sizing advice, which is the size I use to today. I'm on the opposite end (6.5) but on either end of the curve its always a concerning point for sizing.
      What kind of climate do you live in? I've heard great things about the City soles, and I'd be keen to try them as they are softer and more grippy than other rubbers out there (From what I've read/ heard). Saying that, if in a mostly dry country, leather is always going to be my go-to.
