Just finished experimenting with 4 sets of buttons on my end, and the winner ended up being Sanwa hands down. And Sanwa sticks are a no brainer for me ever since my first TE Mad Catz stick over 10 years ago now.

@22:55 Both the Happ and IL's have 3 lines on the joystick for the Clip. Only 2 of the lines are usable. Each line is for whichever pivot you use. There's a long pivot and short pivot. One is for metal cabs and the other is for wood. That's the actual purpose of those lines. Perhaps 2Dai4 is talking about something I'm not aware of...perhaps you can use the joystick without the pivot??
With that said....iL/Happ sticks are awesome and my go-to compared to Sanwa's. Sanwa's are too clicky and look like toys compared to iL/happ.

iL convex buttons are where it's at. To me playing on Sanwa's feels like I am playing with broken or worn out buttons.
I like the stronger response of the iL's themselves and the ease of switching out to different strength micro switches.
Right now I have some 50g zippy switches in there and they feel great.

for Street Fighter its JLF + OSBF buttons . I have tried almost everything and always end up going back to sanwa , install the otto mod for the jlf . For SHMUPS seimitsu ls56. Crown buttons are underrated imo they also do a microswitch version that I never hear talked about . I grew up on American parts in the arcade but after invested so much time I have much better execution on Japanese parts . The 1 player conversion deck 2Dai4 makes the cab look much better IMO .

What do you guys think of Korean Joysticks (Crown, Taeyoung, Fanta, etc)?
And what about Mechanical Keyboard Switch Buttons (Gamer Finger, Samduksa, Paradise Arcade, Qanba Gravity)?

Ah, I haven't tried all those brands but maybe something I should look into for testing purposes!

Should I swap my gates in my street fighter Shinko to the octagon that it came with? I’ve heard the square is less wear and tear whereas the octagon gate will grind it out.
Also microswitches are key. 50g seems to be the sweet spot. 75g is arcade standard but wear my hands out during long sessions.

It's all up to preference for Gate selection. Plastic is pretty durable I don't think an Octogon Gate would wear down

Not as plug and play as the GeeekPi. I'm exploring other options, but I do know you can use an Ultimarc APAC or U-HID controller, but it requires a lot of wire splicing
