I just stumbled on to your site after taking the Santa Monica and Adventon Adventure 2 for test rides with a friend. Both good but I thought SM was better. But I sure liked Aventon's self cancelling turn signals. Should be required on all street oriented ebikes. When I was shopping for my 1st ebike my priorities were low weight (under 45 lbs), comfort, suitable for street or gravel, & under $1,500. After narrow it down to Aventon Soltera 2, Velotric T1ST, & Propella C9 V2. All were good bikes & my testing was by the seatofmypantsometer. I opted for the Propella & after 300 miles am very happy with it. Its a great bike made even more comfortable better with the Kinekt suspension seat post and stem. IT would be be great to see you do a comparison on the light weights.
Ebike newbie here and I could use some assistance from this seemingly well informed comment section. There are so many makes and models and I'm just looking for something reasonably priced with a decent speed that would do well for fairly short distances. I don't need anything too fancy, fast or even all that good looking; I just want to get from A to B in a decent amount of time without having to sell an organ to do so.
We would have loved to have them participate, unfortunately it didn't work out this time. We will let them know when we do this again and hope we can get them involved! Would have loved to see the RadCity 5 Plus or RadRover 6 Plus against this field!
With more and more people looking for affordable modes of transport, we had to see what you could get for a fairly affordable price. I think we had most of the bikes we wanted for this test. Are there any others you'd be interested in seeing go head to head?
Agreed! The XPress would have made a great contender in this video. You will be seeing the XPeak in the not so distant future though, so stay tuned for that. Thanks for watching!
Bruh I have had ebikes for years the best ones are the 800 n under ones they last longer and their customers service numbers actually work and help you fix problems with your bikes you want a bike they last 7plus years bud one your self for 1200 bucks
@@MicromobilityIndustries useless. Voltage is not the same for all batteries. A lower Ah battery can have higher capacity if it has higher voltage. Hope this helps. Oh. BTW motor power specs and battery ah are for the dummies. What matters is NM and WH specs.
These are all terrible values compared to the Philodo H8 which for only $1299 gets you dual 1000 watt motors, a 35 mph top speed, 23 AH battery. can accelerate 0-20 in under 6 seconds
That sounds like a fun bike right there! Looks like it’s $1700 now though, from what I see on their website. We’d be down to review it if Philodo reaches out ;)
😂 I'm calling BS on this whole review, first of all the discovery 2 has way more power and speed than any of those pieces of junk. I own a couple of them and 10 no mad ones and if you unlock the discovery 2 it can reach speeds of 32 miles an hour I am 406 obviously you are pushing the Tahoe brand or whatever it is that Discovery 2 Stan's out way above any of those other bikes, look at the frame designs between the Tahoe versus the discovery😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Mike! We’re actually pretty fond of the discover 2, and it’s a great new offering from Velotric. For all of these bikes, we don’t unlock any of them, as most could have got some more top speed potentially. Also, we didn’t mess with amps on the controllers, which can also get you more power and torque. They were all tested in stock configuration, as most people will ride them. Don’t get it twisted, all of our personal Ebikes usually have some form of unlocking or another. So we’re fans of it, but as I said we just tested these stock. And as for the ELUX bikes, we were just as surprised as most people watching this, based on our assumptions going off the specs. So, no pushing products here, I think that’s also evident in the fact that we’re not using affiliate links for any of the bikes. All of that said, we appreciate you watching the video and giving us your feedback on the discover 2 ;)
Yea way more power and speed! Except it doesn't dawg! Santa Monica is a superior ebike, but whatever you have to do to justify your purchase. I've ridden the D2 and wanted to get one until I rode the Santa Monica.
and they all suck. who thought that a 750 wat limit was a good idea? We should limit gas power too! Get an EUC, or build your own. bikes sadly have been made impractical (too big, heavy, expensive for what they bring to the table. just like modern women)

Bit strange you didn’t test any offerings from the biggest e-bike company in the US. RadPower undoubtedly on par with Aventon and Lectric.

Been riding my AIMA Santa Monica everywhere, absolutely fantastic ride! So glad I made the right choice!
Good choice!! It seems to have great features all across the board.
Love to se the low-end content, since this is where all the growth is!

Bummer that the XPress didn't come out in time for a comparison like this, but good video

You gotta tell the people what these unicorn brands are! 😱
Battery capacity must be given in Wh. Ah alone is useless.
Well, not useless, right? Just multiply it by Volts and you're good to go ;P

That much power makes it illegal to ride on most trails as 750 watts is the max allowed in most states.
@@RicLevine even 750 watt rated ebikes aren't really 750 watts, that's their nominal rating they usually peak much higher
@@chuckwolf9869 - Correct. And the laws are based ON the nominal rating of the motor.
