As Killer, I love the swamp's main building/boat for the crows. As survivor, I almost never have the killer head there after I trigger them. Like, those crows are loud enough you hear them through the whole map.
I just like the play patterns that result from indoor maps. They're more consistent in their layout than outdoor maps usually, so you're less likely to get fucked over by unfortunate tiles and the game becomes more like a mathematical calculation and less like a tombola made of safe pallets and gens in the middle of fortresses.
I love how strategy has developed and built on top of itself over 4 years of chases. We've advanced from standard chases To red light mindgames To moonwalking backwards To straight up standing still. Sometimes my genius is... it's almost frightening.
Scott, that’s what custom should be, you should be able to just be by yourself in it as killer or survivor, so you can test gen speeds and add ons and then just practice with killer. I want to get good at clown and just JUST practice bottle throws, but I just look silly and I get 5 min max of just throwing bottles around and then I have to wait mins to find a new lobby, and then I lose my angles and stuff. Don’t know why the devs are against this but I’d love this. It would help lots of nurses practice as well, and help Interact a lot more with his in depth killer guides lol
Overwatch and Valorant have this, and I cannot explain how much it has helped me. Hell, Overwatch Workshop gamemodes have helped me practice more than the actual practice range. If DBD implimented this, I would cry with joy. The only thing that would make me happier is fixing matchmaking and reworking DS
Well, as a killer who has never surpassed rank 17, most of these are too advanced for me, but I'm glad to know I'm doing one thing right as killer and survivor, Hating the indoor maps :D
Meliksah Gülmez ikr, they think applying pressure is easy, you can’t apply pressure sometimes bc u know the second u leave a guy on the ground for another dude another one gonna pick him up, while the guy u chasing gonna have a nasty set up, and you lost that easy hook
Should address one of the most common mistakes I see killers make: kicking gens instead of chasing, while the survivor gets an entire continent of distance.
If you don’t have pop goes than there’s no point of kicking the gen. But yeah kicking it with pop would buy you enough time to commit to the chase for a little longer
Idc I always kick gens, unless I feel it’s a SWF then I won’t. You can kinda tell off the playstyle, one time I kicked a gen that was nearly done, I chased the survivor. I managed to make him drop 2 pallets. I found another survivor downed and hooked him and by the time I went back to that same gen it was pretty much 0% it can be pointless without perks, but it works once you know what you’re up against. Once I notice a lot of gen rushing and they’re sticking to gens and I don’t have shit to make them stop then I won’t.
@@pennyroyaltea4500 it is worth it if you know the Survivor You are chasing off was the only one in the gen, if You are not sure you should chase directly, but yeah, kicking before Chase can regress all progress when you come back
On the first thing - I would rather say, look the opposite way then what the survivor seemed like they went. And Scott said m&a will allow you to see em, but you will be in chase, so you won't. But that is just a very small mistake that doesn't mean anything.
I know this isn't new, but I had to find this video. I was being looped at shack when Scott's stand still tactic popped in mind. Figured it was a good enough time to try it, and lo and behold, Feng came running right back into me. So, props to Scott for that down.
the standing still part is kinda funny even more so when you add a spirit into the mix cause now they are not even sure if your phasing or not she's such a good killer for heavy mindgames and unpredictability its why i like her
@@ScottJund It works for me when I when I do it, the survivors stuck on my left, I tried moving left without moving away from the window and if i cant move.. swiingg. There's also theres similar mechanic when you survivor falling from great height if you let go of w and then move again you do some type of drift that moves you from the atended drop great way to counter trappers. Thhoo if you time correctly it's hard to pull off but doable.
Be patient with your swings. Let the survivors do their cartwheels and spins until they tire themselves out (typically after 2 seconds, survivors can't keep spinning). Constantly try to keep track of them as they are spinning and then when you see the opportunity is right, take the swing. Additionally, if you know the survivor will try to do a spin, when they turn in the initial direction that they're desiring to spin in, you can just tap M1 when they're close enough, thus taking out the effort of having to track and then swinging. I always suggest being patient when chasing an injured survivor that hasn't used an exhaustion perk as a heavy majority of players run dead hard.
That stands still tip is so true. I'll randomly get confused and stand still to see where I am and survivors will sometimes just run into me cuz they expected me to keep moving
Thanks for the tips bro most of them I knew but the jingle Jim tip really helped me I never understood how to run them as killer but this video really helped me so thanks bro love your content keep it up 👍
I would also recommend running "pop goes the weasel" if you have trouble prioritizing gens. It lets you catch up the regression if you committed to a chase for longer than you should've. A good way to tell if you've truly overcommitted to chasing is if you have a pop ready but no gens to use it on because one or two gens got finished while you were hooking someone. The perk will give you leeway while still giving you good info and habits on timing the length of your chases.
Pop is a great perk. I like to run Pop goes the weasel with Oppression. One kick = 25% instant regression + normal regression on up to 3 other gens + potential survivor reveal. If you can hook survivors often enough, this will pretty much keep all the gens cold.
AURORA yeah? As Scott said, just turn around and pay attention. Now, here’s the reason why removing “techs” is a terrible idea: techs make the game fun, without techs, I’d just drop pallets safely and loop safely without having fun, which makes the game stale and as a decent player, makes it so you can’t lose. I never play pallets safely because it’s boring, techs make the game fun. Remove techs and the game gets boring and repetitive. It’s kind of like a risk-reward. You are making the same argument of “360’s take advantage of a killer not being able to turn their camera fast enough” or “cj tech’d are unfair and uncounterable” Exploits are taking advantage of mechanics that make it unfair for players, and if you think window techs are something like a crutch to win every game, you have a lot to learn about dbd kid Now I don’t want to make this about “who is better” or I don’t want to say that you are bad, because I don’t know you and that would just be mean. But if you are still falling for window techs and losing games because of one window tech, then I don’t know what to say. *The devs themselves said that while window techs are not intended, it’s not too big of a deal and not an exploit* There are a lot of techs that killers can do, some patched some newly discovered, and I’ve never complained, *not once in my 3 years of playing* *So just calm down and stop calling all survivors who try to have fun in this buggy game* Thank you for listening, -Cartar_2169.ttv :^D
Cartar 2169 nah bro lol. Being allowed inside a player model and justifying it while you get an advantage is dog shit. Keep your broken Perk selection. The exploits such as that kill the game. Such as dead Harding through a killers body. It should not be a thing at all. Ofc it’s fun when you get away with shit like that. Just like a killer gets his dick hard mori’ing you out of the game in the first 30sec
Just a few things you really need to know when playing killer. "Know when to drop a Chase. If you got the survivor injured/or a pallet and you see him running towards the shack or a strong set up, Just leave him". "Always keep someone down/on hook. If they dont have teammates to save/heal they are going to do gens. If they are not on hook, keep them injured at least." "Never ignore a survivor doing a gen If you are chasing someone. Split the pressure is always a must" "For last. Make builds with Focus on lethality. Gen slowdown or heal slowdown is nothing compared to a great lethality. I use Wraith with PWYF/haunted grounds/make your choice/Corrupt. If you keep Downing survivors, they dont have time to do gens." (Thats why Oni is a Very strong killer, his Power is Full lethality)
Learned the window tech thanks to OhTofu. I learned what it was by watching Ayrun when I had around 200 hours in the game but never knew how to counter it until I saw OhTofu walk backwards. It also sort of served as a mini mind game that might get me a hit in lower ranks.
