So funny I just got a big rock and saw this kit. Going to get it tomorrow so thanks for the direction! Just started watching your vids and I enjoy them!
Nice job on the body mods. Although I must admit, I love the Black satin finish. To each their own. Lool forward to viewing more of your RC videos in the future.
It's interesting that that body has a glossy finish. My blue body came in a matte finish. I did the Typhon wing mount and 6s Typhon wing. I like this way as well. Maybe I'll do this one next round. The Vortex wasn't a thing when I decided to add a wing.
I put a Typon wing on the back of my big rock plus a T-bone front bumper. It added a lot of character like you said, the body is does need some character it's rather plain
I put a rear spoiler on my Big Rock and it caused the body of my truck to split off the back end but it was really cold out . So I guess my advice would be to not do any serious bashing when it is below freezing . LOL!
It’s always risky bashing in cold weather. And having the wing attached to the body adds stress to the body as well. Still looks awesome though. Bash carefully in the cold. Thanks for sharing 😎👍
I modified my big rock with typhon arms to get it a bit wider, typhon wingmount and outcast wing to make it sturdy to take all the crashes and beefier granite front bumper. That also looks much better in my opinion when I lowered the bodymounts as low as they go with body still fitting. I run it with 1/8 buggy and 1/10 monster tires depending where and how I drive.
i bought the black version of this body for a project im working on, one little thing about the black one is its only painted on the outside so when you scratch it you will see through it, not sure why arrma didnt paint it black on the inside and flat clear coat it on the outside? (ill give it a coat of black on the inside) , also i like the wing you put on the blue body, looks cool.
Best and easiest way for me: Traxxas Maxx RoofSkidplate and Arrma 3s Wing Mount with Outcast 4s wing. (Yeah you have to cut the rear of the body. But it cannot be seen while mounted)

Very cool Mod's. With the wing attached to the body how well is it holding up?
So far so good. 😎👍

Love the vids AJ, got a 6s body for my 3s senton, any suggestions for improvements to the original body?
Not yet. We are still running our 6s body on a 3s but it is still stock. We may look into that though. Thanks for asking.

Sharp
Is that body painted from the inside ?
The blue one is painted inside, yes. The black one is flat or matte black on the outside. Thanks for asking.
Would have thought you would have used a wing mount and cut the body to fit.
To each his own of style. We simply like the look better.
