Another great video and what a car and the history !! Thank you both for what you do and your knowledge Can never get enough of Purists Motorsports videos !!!
The car is definitely a rare piece of history. The PAS Collection has so many key pieces like this. Thank you for the kind words. We wanted to do just that. Educate and bring you a front row seat to the history of these unique vehicles.
This the car that really started my love of Saleens. I have focused on a bunch of foxbody, gt500, lightnings etc over the years, but I wished I would have looked for this one many moons ago. Might be a tribute build one of these years! but thank you for sharing one our dream cars. People still talk about this car, especially the rear rollbar glass/plastic insert.
How about a video on Mark's backstory. How did the PAS collection begin and come into existence? How did he track down all these rare examples? etc, etc...
We can definitely do that. He's got almost 25 years in owning Performance Autosport. More years than that in the high end car market. Saleen's have been a large focus over those years.
Modeled my Saleen Fox after that dream car ........it started my Saleen quest, all I need is the color code for the wheels...have been hesitating on painting them since they are the Speedlines. The funny thing is that since mine is black with the same stripes and similar wheels, now I want it in white/blue combo. Oy....-___-...never satisfied lol
They are standard Saleen one piece Stern spec. 17x8 and 17x9. I think the fronts are 225/45's and rears are 255/40's. That's what Saleen used on most of the cars. But, it wouldn't surprise me if cars came with different tire sizes in production.
The lip is very small. 1/2” or so. The LMR wheel isn’t an exact copy. It’s very different in design and construction. My $.02 is they those aren’t a replica at all. More of a new design based on this style of wheel.

I drooled over this convertible for years. Thanks for reviewing this car gents.
This car makes me want to add a convertible to the fleet. Love hearing the history on these cars.
Best 1991 model year Saleen ever built !!
Yep, a 1991 chassis built by Saleen in 91 and updated by them to a 92 and then a 93. It wears many badges.
Man I had that poster in my room, super cool!
Yep. She's probably witnessed more stuff as a poster than she should admit. 😂

Great job Mark in getting this car back to "poster" status, truly iconic!!!
I absolutely loved 🥰 this car
Same here. It was awesome to be around it for a day.
Bob I am loving this whole series from Mark's bunker.
Thanks Brother.
This Car was Everything back in the Day... It was one of the Pinnacle Mustangs.
It really was for a lot of us. Iconic. A friend of mine just recently took the poster of this car off the wall at hisMoms house.
I know it was on my wall!
Love this one Bob! Looking forward to some S351 videos…
Take care
Stunningly beautiful car 👍
Man I love all your videos it was good meeting you at the Saleen meet in Florida
It was great to visit a little. Seemed like a quick whirlwind at the show all week. Thanks for following along. Hopefully we’ll connect again soon! 🙌
I have a rare speedster cover for my fox vert. I haven't seen anyone else with one other than these saleens spyders. there pretty sweet

Never satisfied. I don't know what you're talking about. Lol!
Hard to see in the video but how many miles are on it?
Ya Ben I was going to ask the same thing I couldn't see the miles either
I just asked Mark. It has 81k on it. It was driven and used a lot by Saleen.
Tim Allen reference -- I can hear the 'monkey sounds'.....
The Saleen / Allen RRr racing team used that.

How much of a lip was there on those wheels on the front and back? Are they the same as the sc wheels LMR now sells?
The lip is very small. 1/2” or so. The LMR wheel isn’t an exact copy. It’s very different in design and construction. My $.02 is they those aren’t a replica at all. More of a new design based on this style of wheel.
Is the 1/2" lip on the front ones or are they 1/2" lip front and back?
Same all around on the faces/outside of the wheel. Fronts and rears look the same.
