I always thought Sweet were way ahead of their time musically! A lot of bands were influenced by them. Song from 1978. Great selection and reaction! Thanks!
I'm so happy someone requested this, and I'm so glad you liked this song! Sweet is my all-time favorite band (thanks dad) so this was a pleasant surprise. They don't get a lot of attention and are sadly kind of looked over. Keep in mind that the rest of their catalogue is vastly different as they were a quickly evolving band. They went from bubblegum/pop to glam rock to hard rock in the span of a few years. Sadly they are mostly known for their pop hits (they had a lot of them) but they were a seriously good hard rock band, and they inspired the likes of Def Leppard, Kiss and Queen. Recently Ballroom Blitz and Fox On The Run were used in big movies/trailers so maybe you heard of those songs.
The Sweet were awesome! This song, Fox on the run and Ballroom Blitz. Great music, thank you for the blast from the past. Brought back great memories of my youth.
This is one of those songs that I strongly remember from my early teen years in the very late 70's. It's implanted in my memory....in a good way of course. I can also see the comparisons with E.L.O. It makes sense to me seeing I was a huge ELO fan back then also.
thanks for your comments, this is the band i grew up with...and still is my favorite band.they schould be much bigger than they were rip brian mick and steve.
Love your reactions to this Sweet classic. Check out Fox On The Run, Ballroom Blitz, Little Willie, Teenage Rampage and Blockbuster just to name a few.
i love this tune,,, remember listening to it when i was teenager Maybe that's how we learned to stay focused,, our music was complicated, the words told stories, and they were often quite long in duration. loved your reaction!! stay safe!!
Was not expecting this! The single I bought in 1978 carried on the main vein of the song and fades out...which I prefer but Sweet is one of my favourite bands and grossly underrated . Check out the “B” side “Cover Girl”. needless to say, I love that too!
The Glam Rock Period by The Sweet ended 1974!!!.....Up untill then they wrote and produced all singles and albums by themselves and that had nothing to do with Glam Rock!!!
Sweet had a few good tunes. This is one of my favorites. Along with *"Ballroom Blitz"* and *"Fox On The Run."* I've always loved the layers of instruments in the longer version of this track. You didn't know what would come next. I could listen to it for another several minutes the way it was arranged. Have a blessed day...🎶🙂💜
nice to hear that you young guys like the sweet.i grew up with the sweet and they never got the attention they deserve..listen for example the album tracj''fountain''you be surprise
it's MY SWEET. ...I don't want to share this songs with anyone. ..these songs are my balsam. ..flowing like a river since I ever heard it 40 years ago. ..into the eternal future
This is my favorite song by them, but the whole Desolation Street album from years earlier is great. Ballroom Blitz, Fox On The Run, The Six Teens, AC DC, Solid Gold Brass.
great reaction to this song, there's a memory I have of this song from way back before I was even 10 years old. My older brother's girlfriend was moving away to Dallas with her family, so my brother drove me to the record store and he was too embarrassed to buy this song in person so he sent me in to buy the record for him, hahahahahhaha.
If you would like a quality Sweet song with similar remnants to this one, you two should really listen to "Fountain" or "Dorian Gray". Sweet actually played several different genres of rock through the years, the members at the core were really a hard rock band with an immense talent, but they were stifled for the sake of creating hits before getting some creative freedom. Great band!
Don’t remember this longer version. There most definitely was a shorter version for the radio. A classic rock song for sure. Been watching you for several months would love it if you manage to react to the band Morphine-Buena
loved the reaction,,, this is an amazing song,, so lovely in places i could weep , awesome! remember when it was 'new' . funny how the lyrics of rock are sooo insightful !! Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac is beautiful . maybe we can listen with you?
remember sweet playing it live and andy leans over plays the acoustic guitar brilliant sweet go prog. had sweet played Charlton.rock with the who in 1974 it would have kick started there rock carreer world wide .but because of what happened to brian at that time it didn't.happen. they had to cancel the uk sweet fanny adams .tour..and going to America nobody hear the real sweet in the uk as they didn't tour the uk or play any festivals after 1974 or play the old grey whistle test.a uk rock show I asked andy scott .why he said we wernt asked I said you should have been asking your selves.they should have been a stadium band sady wasn't to be back luck and management saw to that.

I've not heard this tune in years. After this I'll be checking out Sweet a bit more. I do remember them growing up in the 1970s.

The Sweet were awesome! This song, Fox on the run and Ballroom Blitz. Great music, thank you for the blast from the past. Brought back great memories of my youth.
Love to see your beautiful faces light up on hearing The Sweet - who were fabulous and this is certainly a masterpiece and it was recognised as such.

Excellent song & reaction!! I loved it as a kid in the 70s & it never gets old. You totally need to hear "Fox on the Run" by Sweet as well!
brilliant selection and bravo on the reaction
There are alot great songs that didnt get alot airplay, i applaud you for going outside the box. Thank you
This song sounds kind of like something Electric Light Orchestra would have done. Well done, Sweet!
Thank you so much!! So sweet!! We Sweetfans knew that all along so great to hear that from others!! 🎸❤️🎶
Goosebumps alright!! ❤️
i love this tune,,, remember listening to it when i was teenager Maybe that's how we learned to stay focused,, our music was complicated, the words told stories, and they were often quite long in duration. loved your reaction!! stay safe!!
Such good memories. When the dance floors were lit with color, and the clothes were SO funky!
Thank you two.
The 70s. Such a beautiful era musically. Sweet were fantastic.
very cool version of this song!! awesome!
Enjoyed your comments.....from the Oregon Coast USA......have long thought SWEET should be in the HOF
Was not expecting this! The single I bought in 1978 carried on the main vein of the song and fades out...which I prefer but Sweet is one of my favourite bands and grossly underrated . Check out the “B” side “Cover Girl”. needless to say, I love that too!
This is the full album version (and much better than the single). IMO the best glam rock song ever made.
The Glam Rock Period by The Sweet ended 1974!!!.....Up untill then they wrote and produced all singles and albums by themselves and that had nothing to do with Glam Rock!!!
Thanks to the person that requested Sweet ! Happy that you two enjoyed it.
I first heard this song about 2 years ago, I would have sworn it was ELO at first
Sweet had a few good tunes.

This track comes from the album Level Headed. The last album from the full band together.
SWEET Love Is Like Oxygen Reaction...I was 17
it's MY SWEET. ...I don't want to share this songs with anyone. ..these songs are my balsam. ..flowing like a river since I ever heard it 40 years ago. ..into the eternal future
The Bass Guitarist Steve Priest sadly passed away this year on the 4th june age 72 RIP Steve
This is my favorite song by them, but the whole Desolation Street album from years earlier is great. Ballroom Blitz, Fox On The Run, The Six Teens, AC DC, Solid Gold Brass.
This is so much better and far more interesting than the heavily eviscerated radio version.
Brian Connelly.Mick Tucker.Steve Priest.Andy Scott! Enough Said!
great reaction to this song, there's a memory I have of this song from way back before I was even 10 years old. My older brother's girlfriend was moving away to Dallas with her family, so my brother drove me to the record store and he was too embarrassed to buy this song in person so he sent me in to buy the record for him, hahahahahhaha.
Musical apogee of 1970s rock and roll.
Wow was just thinking you guys should react to this one COOL!
4 great singers in a band with 4 members..........Just like 10cc (before 1977 anyhow) .......
Great band!
Great song from the 70s.
sweet...… love it
This was the original album version. IMHO the best version. Also checkout Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run also by Sweet.
Great song great production
Love your reaction to sweet. It would be great to see you react to the kinks waterloo sunset. Thanks for the content.
Great song , great reaction
I don't know which I like better. The song or Savio's reactions!
This is the original album version, also the only version I've ever heard.
Sweet and Deep Purple used to rehearse opposite each other in the early 70'S, Sweet was much heavier in their sound in the early days
This is the cut from the album, Level Headed. Try the Sweet tune, Fox On The Run.
Also Namaste !!
Their best compilation of tunes smashed into one song, something lennon and mcartney did often, while wearing fabulous bell bottoms.
You should check out the lies in your eyes by sweet and then blockbuster by them that's my favorites
Don’t remember this longer version. There most definitely was a shorter version for the radio. A classic rock song for sure.
Been watching you for several months would love it if you manage to react to the band Morphine-Buena
I have this song downloaded. One of my favorites by this band. Very ELO type of song. Sweet had a lot of good songs. Check out Fox on the Run
Air On A Tape loop.
That is a good one indeed!
You would like Terry Callier's Dancing Girl
Nice reaction for Great band.Thanks.Hope for more Sweet/for ex.Set Me Free is their masterpiece/.
loved the reaction,,, this is an amazing song,, so lovely in places i could weep , awesome! remember when it was 'new' . funny how the lyrics of rock are sooo insightful !! Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac is beautiful . maybe we can listen with you?
Do "ballroom blitz" by The Sweet
remember sweet playing it live and andy leans over plays the acoustic guitar brilliant sweet go prog. had sweet played Charlton.rock with the who in 1974 it would have kick started there rock carreer world wide .but because of what happened to brian at that time it didn't.happen. they had to cancel the uk sweet fanny adams .tour..and going to America nobody hear the real sweet in the uk as they didn't tour the uk or play any festivals after 1974 or play the old grey whistle test.a uk rock show I asked andy scott .why he said we wernt asked I said you should have been asking your selves.they should have been a stadium band sady wasn't to be back luck and management saw to that.
It doesn't get any sweeter than that.
Best version of this song. Think they must have been hanging with Mike Oldfield from the breakdown.
lucky man.. :)
My suggestion would be You're So Vain by Carly Simon written about an ex.
back in my teenage years.....pls do next -lady in black- uriah heep..``
Try Fountain from the same album :-)
Thanks , please do Wig Wam Bam , also by Sweet
My requests: Riders On The Storm by The Doors. After that listen to The End. You won't regret it.
Great song but i prefer the shorter version...the one they played on the radio! ❤
Roller rink late 70s, jr. high.......
I like the short radio version better.
ELO ( Electric Light Orchestra) also covered this in late 70's early 80's? Their version is really good too!!
Would you play BoB Seger Roll me away
Good song... kinda sounds like ELO
fox on the run is a way better song
Nope not even close. This is a masterpiece
