With the baddest photographer 's knowledge of the cameras and being the best fashion/hair stylist to understand his logic to me, so, then my expression of fashion creatvity makes sense when we shoot..
Fantastic tips. Especially the 4 and 5, have done that, broken the rules many times, my dad back in a day telling me and even recently, my wife's cousin, don't shoot ever against the sun. Well, some of my most amazing wildlife images had to be done that way, since I can't position the subject any other way and just shoot and make it work, and it came out amazing. So I use the same theory in any subjects, even portraits. Dare to be different, break some rules is the way to go in many cases, great advice. I also do something to get inspired, listen to different music and depending on my mood that day and the music I listen to, it translates into my photoshoot. It is interesting how our pictures at times deliver the mood that we are in, if I am depressed or sad at the time, my images will be sad and depressing and of course, if I am happy and motivated, hence the images tell that story as well. Love photography and how it is related to life. Thank you for sharing your great points and advice.
Excellent set up tips. I love impulsive "quirky" images. The last shoot I did. The best shots by far were after we were wrapping and the motorcyclists were riding past me with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths.
How do you make your portraits stand out?
