Hi Paulie!!! I hope you're having a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious weekend!!! 🥰 These are growing all over the trees in the RV park we were at in Florida. Only the ones there were ginormous. Made me go out and buy some, which I killed. L0L Watching your video made me want to try again.

How clever! I like the yarn method for caring and displaying the air plants. Unfortunately, mine died. I think your method might work. Hope to find another rescue plant at the office.

Great tips Paul. It's funny, I have Spanish moss growing everywhere and have to pull some off of the trees becasue they hit me in the face as I walk by. I try not to remove them. When I moved to Florida I was enamored by them.
You have presented some great tips. I have had tillandsias for years, but like many people, struggled indoors and outdoors with them.
About 6 months ago, I added some to my outdoor hanging plants, attaching them to the wires above the hanging baskets. The weight of each plant caused them to hang upside down. They are doing great.
I know that they don't like water sitting on them, but I didn't realize how much they would appreciate being in that position.
We are in our rainy season and I brought a white fuzzy one into the house because it is reported not to like a lot of water. I'll stick out in the rain every couple of weeks and then bring it back in to dry in the window.
I love the look you created by hanging them all together. I will be trying that soon. Thanks.

How did you attach it to the yarn? Did you use regular glue?

    • @paultheplantparent2702

@@beverlyhardy4398 hi Beverly. I used a hot glue gun. I let it cool for a few so I don’t singe the poor things before attaching. 😃😃😃

Do they usually die after blooming?

@@Planty-Mandy the main plant eventually lets go after a few months, but she leaves a few pups (baby plants) behind to keep the cycle going. Some even pup before they bloom, which is fun.

@@paultheplantparent2702 I had three trunks in basic soil. always thought it was one plant, Started dropping leaves. so I dug it out. turned out to be three ind. plants. Lost one, two separate plants now in water only, getting three hours of sun, some minuscule buds on main trunks "trying" to emerge, but seem reluctant. This was such a beautiful group two months ago. they don't look happy. Bark is pathetic. Roots look viable, but not really convinced this will work.
