Most hard rock songs have the contrast between slow/mellow and harder/faster movements, but they're very sudden sometimes in Tool songs. It's striking.
@@kodyk488 On the album, the bass swells were likely Taurus synth pedals, but the transcription suggested it. Would also pull the cable in and out of the plug for a sputtering rhythm like Randy Rhoads did on his Tribute solo, until I decided maybe that was wearing it out too quickly

4:02 I used to do the same thing with the swells at the start of Red Barchetta instead of a volume pedal. Don't need one!
