A British man opened up a grocery store in Halifax called Pete's Froutique. He imported some of the same bars we were used to seeing here, like Aero and KitKat, but made with chocolate from England. It was very popular here as we found the chocolate much better quality. He moved on to wine making and sold his store.
Actually, interesting thing about the Humpty Dumpty brand. It used to be a dominant brand in Canada. They were at one time, the major competitor to Frito-Lay in Canada. They got taken over by Old Dutch some time ago, and they did a brand-flip a long time ago. We don't get much of Humpty Dumpty branded stuff anymore aside from a few things like what you're seeing, and their dominant brand in Canada is now Old Dutch. That used to be a brand only available south of the border until the takeover, but the flipside of that is that the Humpty Dumpty Brand is now the one sold in the U.S. Hope this helps!
Old Dutch took also the flavors of Humpty Dumty and applied them to theirs. The BBQ chips are the Humpty Dumpty flavor I remembered. For products that Old Dutch wasn't producing they left the Humpty Dumpty brand on them.
I remember Cadbury chocolate use to be sooo much better in Canada as a kid growing up. Use to have such a smoother creamy taste, I loved it, and it felt like special chocolate compared to your usual chocolate bar.
You know that a lot of things in the UK and eastern Canada especially should be fairly similar because well... we are still under the crown. You have to deal with legal things... it is under the crown.

I love that you have to catch yourself before you say the word “walk” in front of Penny 🤣 We had to start spelling it too but we think our dog Comet has begun to catch on to that as well! I love the big Kit Kat, haven’t had one in a while but I remember getting it from the vending machine at my old job as a pick-me-up treat mid way through my shift 🍫
My mom & her sisters had to spell "walk", "ride" and "flyswatter" in front of their dog when my mom was about college-age. For some reason their dog was terrified of flyswatters and would hide under the bed whenever they got one out. He was never hit with one, so they don't know why he acted that way. My maternal grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at a young age and that dog protected him when he (the dog) knew something was wrong. Pets aren't with us on this earth long enough (unless you have a bird, tortoise or turtle; some of them live to 100 years old). Kate- you're looking very tan, the sun must like you. If I don't wear sunblock I burn & I have skin cancer/precancer in my family so I don't take sun protection lightly.

We in the US (although not me) are insane about pumpkin spice. It’s ridiculous how many things are pumpkin spice. Pretty much every edible product and it’s spread to things like deodorant. The only thing I hate about fall.

We have all of those here in Ontario Canada too but I haven't eaten most of those chocolate bars. I have had all the hot chocolates though and the Humpty Dumpty. LOL
❤I Love that yous or Debbie (whomever does it) keeps your Christmas Lights on the bush outside. My Grandma used to do it in my childhood, and it bugged me because she kept it from November til like April but now she is in an Assisted Living it gives me happy vibes.❤
It's actually our dad who keeps the lights on year round! Technically they are just fairy lights but they definitely do give off Christmas lights vibes doesn't it!! Glad it gives you happy vibes 🥰

Interesting...I've found the drumstick KitKat has far more caramel than the rolo. I tried saving the coffee crisp pumpkin spice bars for a care package to a European friend and ended up eating them all 🤣 I love the flavours of the spices in pumpkin spice - individually or together, but I wouldn't buy a pumpkin spice latte. It tastes, to me, like a watered down chai and I'd MUCH rather have a chai latte. We definitely agree on the dairy milk. You can never go wrong with Cadbury's!
How funny! I wonder if each one is slightly different as ours really didn't have that much! Our Rolo at first also didn't have much! Really I think they are being a bit tight on the caramel aren't they! How funny as you would think as a drink it would taste more natural but you're so right!
