Gasly is amazing with the right car
What do you mean by 'the right car'?
Latifi is better than both
Idk why , but Ocon is massively underrated for some reasons .
Mostly because He crashed Into Max , and most French F1 fans like Gasly .
1st off, thanks for bringing the music back!
2ndly, I had no idea how equal these 2 were in stats.
Based on the good comments points, Ocon has consistently had better cars and also better teammates. Recently, Gasly has dropped performance (his moral is prolly low about his non-RBull future), while Ocon has upped his game to the promises that Merc spoke about him when he was a rookie.
So I'd pick Ocon.

Ocon is more reliable despite what DNF stat say but Gasly is faster imo
Gasly is faster over one lap perhaps, but not in terms of race pace.
Ocon is very consistent and has a very smooth and effective style, a bit like Button.
Ocon had the better car for the majority of his career.
2017 is not even a question, the Force India was mighty fast.
2018 same story, the Force-India was way faster again.
2020 Ocon again was in the faster car, still Gasly managed to outscore him.
2021 Pretty equal cars for the most part, AlphaTauri slightly faster.
2022 Current Alpine is just way better than the current AlphaTauri, at the beginning of the season they were more equal.
Just in season were both raced in, Ocon beats Gasly in terms of points. Gasly is only equal with Ocon currently, cuz he scored a lot of points in 2019, while Ocon didnt score as many points in the period when Gasly wasnt on the grid (manor tax).
Overall, I would say both are pretty close together, still, I would say Gasly was more impressive so far.
@@notfrom63rd6 12 races to be exact, not a complete season, and he did underperform in that period, that is true. My conclusion was just based on the season where both raced in, to clarify that.
I don't know what you smoke, the AlphaTauri last year was as quick as the McLaren, datas on hand.
The Alpine was under developped in the second half of the season.
Ocon spent like 8 races at manor in 2016, but its crazy how close they are, basically even is stats
I like the part where u completely ignore The part where Gasly raced for REDBULL .
And yeah , 12 races in RB >>>> 3 seasons in Alpine
@@mrdude9671 he's only comparing the seasons where both drivers raced in F1 so 2019 doesn't count.
Ocon has something called consistency that Gasly doesn't have + Ocon has more time to grow as he is younger and has experienced teammates
hes 1 year younger that makes no diference
He's like 6 months younger
This will be a very interesting battle this year. I predict fireworks and Gasly just beating Ocon.

Very good point. Except for Max V, Gasly has routinely had poor teammates.

-Gasly is really mid at tire management, i remember quite a lot of races where his speed fell off.
It's a yes and no answer. Gasly is definitely better than Ocon in qualifying. Ocon is much better than Gasly in race craft and race intelligence

The Alphatauri was the 5th car in 2021, nearly on par with McLaren!
Gasly had indeed overall better cars!

You know why? BECAUSE of Tsunoda who was the worst driver on the grid after Latifi that season.
Also, points ≠ datas.
The potential of a car is unrelated with the amount of points.
Data wise, the AlphaTauri was close to the McLaren for majority of the season.
