  • More than 1,000 North Koreans try to escape the country every year. They risk being killed, imprisoned, or trafficked, as they escape through China, Mongolia, and different regions of southeast Asia. This is Yeon Mi Park. She escaped North Korea when she was just 13 years old.

While it is not right, class distinctions exists everywhere. Bribing officials to get your kids into top colleges they dont deserve to go to and that eliminates those who are poorer and have to work hard to get where they want to go is a good example. (Side note, I think universities are a scam. It's a prestige thing and all it does is cause you a tremendous amount of debt and you likely can't get a decent job doing what your education said it would.)

NK is a living case of what happens when a nation state fails to technologically and sociopolitically evolve.
This is what happens when a nation fails to evolve beyond an absolute monarchy.
Believe it or not, this is how it was back in the era of Kings, Queens and Emperors ruled the world.
