    Hi Andrea, there is a way to make your toilet paper smell pretty longer. As with freshening up potpourri, after putting essential oil drops inside the roller, put the roll inside a ziplock bag and leave it to permeate, the longer, the better. You may find you don't need as many drops. Sealing it up allows each sheet of paper to absorb the scent and as you unroll the paper, the fragrance will be there.
    I raised 5 sons, I completely relate. It's nice to see your ideas.

      It would be so much more efficient and easier if you pulled up the hinge caps. They pop up pretty easily and you can unhinge lid as well to make it easier to get to without using those tedious Q-tips. Seems kind of pointless to just wipe the leakage from the sides instead of what is trapped underneath. Also, the round ball-like covers covering the floor bolts pop off too. Just thought that since you are making videos about tips to clean the toilet, you might consider a more efficient way to actually thoroughly clean it without using so many different tedious objects. My grandfather made sure when we were kids that we knew how to correctly clean a toilet, the way the Coast Guard taught him. He insisted we knew how to do this to help out our single mom around the house.

    Love the baby oil trick! I have used baby oil for many years to eliminate sewer gas from coming up infrequently used sinks, tubs, showers and drains (like in the basement bathrooms, floor drain by the furnace and the pool backwash drain for winterizing (when we had a pool). The baby oil smells great, its inexpensive and actually seals the drain from sewer gas coming up. It keeps the water in the P-traps from evaporating and therefore nothing comes up that shouldn’t. Just don’t forget to add more if someone uses it. And its environmentally friendly!!!!!

    I have a hand-held spray steam cleaner. It has different snap on ends for various places.
    But, truly, my bathroom smells better cleaning with steam than after using any brand of cleaner/vinegar I have used to clean all nooks and crannies!
    The steam is strong enough to blow out everything deep inside every crevice !
    And the steam dries fast!
    You just have to easily wipe off the debris that has been blown out.
    Wait a bit, and it is already dry! No scrubbing and yucky cleaning essentials needed. 🧼🧽(Except, maybe some paper towels🧻)
    Easy Peasy 😊🚽
    And it is economical!

    The best is to invest in a portable steam cleaner! It gets every crevice & sanitizes 100%! You will not need to get your hands near any gunk or breathe in any fumes from cleaning products. You will run around your home excitedly trying to find other items to clean. The steamer works great on artificial plants without destroying your arrangements. You’re welcome 🥰

      Yessssss!!!!! To this comment 😁 steaming tools have become my besties. My first steam tool that I invested in was my steam mop 3 years ago. I have a compressed disc in my back that has given me hell for many years. I enjoy cleaning as it’s therapeutic for me but when it came to mopping my floors, the constant bending and carrying I had to do with a traditional mop and bucket always made my disc flare up and I would be in bed for a week in pain. I use steam to clean about 90% of my home now and it has completely been a joy for my back. Let’s not mention how I was able to cut back on chemical usage to clean. I steam clean then I use wax melts or essential oil diffusers to freshen the air even more inside my home

The squared back part that you was cleaning with the q-tip is where you disconnect it just pull it up and pull outwards, Not upwards and it will come out easily. Because I used to clean it that way BUT the urine (I have 2 boys) stays stuck inside those little squares!

Run a disinfecting wet wipe between the tank and seat. If you have a bowl that is hard to clean way down in the bottom, pop a couple of denture cleansers tabs in the bowl overnight and will be clean in the morning. Please don't add cleaning liquid or tabs in the tank. It will slowly eat away at the rubber seal. HTH

      Yeah I pop off the tabs and clean it every time I clean my toilet I do need to take it apart though but ours is really hard you have to have like pliers and what not to get it off. I'm hoping we can get a new seat that just pops on and off with easie.

      Agreed. Way easier to clean and u can get under too. And cleaning the screws that hold the seat on helps too. Bottom and top.

      Yes! So easy to pop those tabs up and slip the whole seat off! She’s only getting the outside! It’s yucky under the tabs!

    Right now I have taught my grandSun who is nine that it is perfectly ok to sit when urinating, that being said he has also been taught to aim straight. I am happy to say we don’t have any problem. With that toilet seat, would dismantle it. 🙏

      There you go Evelyn~ I've done the same w/my boys & grandson. I also keep a tub of Clorox wipes under the sink, & have trained them to do a quick check after they're done- especially if they've had "yucky poops". Lift that seat to check the underside of it, & use a wipe on it before you wash those hands. I'd say they remember about a third of the time- which is far better than no help at all!

      My husband and son - no religous affiliations- also sit to urinate. But this has it's own issues. If not paying attention, urine can spray directly under the seat and drip down the front of the base of the bowl. Yuk!

      According to research from the Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands, sitting down to pee allows for ‘a more favourable urodynamic profile’ [translation: the flow is stronger] which helps ward off prostate problems.
      My husband and boys all sit at home. And was also taught that you still need to aim while sitting. It works in my household. Happy mom, happy life! 😊

    I spray CLR along the inside toilet rim, sprinkle baking soda around the bowl, pour vinegar on top of that, let it fizz up for 10 min., then scrub with Clorox toilet wand. Same for the tank. Also scrub the toilet bowl with a pumas stone to remove hard water marks in bowl and tank. Shutting the water off and draining the tank to get all the settled debris that accumulates every month from the chain rust helps too. I have a battery operated siphon pump that works good for that. Denture tablets, 6 in the tank and 6 in the bowl to finish it off works great too. Letting them set for about an hour before using the toilet again. As far as cleaning the exterior toilet areas, I make my own disinfectant with equal parts hot water, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, witch hazel, listerine and 20 drops of essential oil in a spray bottle. Works like magic for not only the toilet, but all the bathroom and kitchen.

      Listerine? Um, that’s silly.

    • @mi2ube
      @mi2ube 3 года назад +1

      @@nineteen8122 it’s not silly. Listerine is antibacterial. It can be used as an antiseptic too topically. Just like Vodka. 🙂

    • @sadee1287
      @sadee1287 2 года назад +1

      @@mi2ube Sure, but the peroxide you're using is antibacterial enough, not to mention the rubbing alcohol. You're kind of over doing it adding the Listerine and witch hazel. Consider as well that combining them all together could create a toxic reaction.

    • @mi2ube
      @mi2ube 2 года назад

      @@sadee1287 thanks for the comment, but I’ve been doing this for years now, and there is no toxic reaction. Now, clr and bleach is toxic together. I don’t do that. Over the years, testing different household cleaners compared to my combo, household cleaners didn’t produce the results I’ve noticed in my concoction. I’m happy with it and my family as well. None of us, or our pets, have had any sensitivity issues or irritations. It works for me, every home cleaner will find his or her own formula that works. Happy cleaning! 😊🧼
