I've had two Cockatiel's.
My last one for 17 yrs and one morning, I found him dead on the bottom of his cage. It's been about a year now, and I want to get another Bird. I think I would like a different kind this time, but don't know what kind. Not a lg one. Maybe a Conure.

on minute 7:10, I think it is said "go back to kindergarten" (to go step back on a trick train, until she is again confident in the last step you left on former session).right?
A good object to desensitize is a towel since Patty and Morgan had horrible experiences with them.

Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I have a cockatiel and she gets spooked by some objects but mostly by sounds. I now know what to do about the fear of objects, but how does desensitization versus sounds work? For exemple, if I forget to put my phone in silent mode and the phone rings...she gets so scared, she flies around the room screaming :( ! Is there a way to help her not to be so scared? I understand she can get annoyed at the noise and scream, but I don't want her to go in total panick like she does now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Great question! When I am taking care of all my birds in the morning it takes some time, and I play music on my phone the entire time. I started off with instrumental music and slowly progressed from there.
