Life system was basically abandoned since Forces. It didn't appear in Frontiers too. And to be honest, it's better that way. You almost never going to run out of lives anyway. Lives were needed for hard modes in Heroes or Shadow 05 and in Unleashed because of Eggmanland.
Well the bad resolution of the video isn't doing it any justice, realistic environments really need good resolution for the colors to pop. but yeah, it's definitely more black and grayish compared to the orignal's more blue and purple look. the big pillars in the background also have those new high tech looking green lights that weren't in the original. in general, shadow gens changes all the returning environments somewhat. like sunset heights and kingdom valley having different weather effects, and radical highway being completely different

It has it’s moments. But overall, I a still not impressed with this games level design
I wish the level was more colorful and vibrant like in SA2. Here, it kind of looks dull and really desaturated.
