For God to be perfect judge, sins must be punished, so atonement is necessary... So Jesus is THE ONLY way and the overall picture of that is GRACE! And faith is a step in that process.... I hope you dig more into it to understand what I am saying. There is complexity in this manner. Not one line or word can be full explanation. Otherwise it'd never be necessary for Jesus to die for our sins when God can forgive from heaven, this is why Jesus's sacrifice is so important and valuable, and THE only way! Because God is perfect judge and one must be punished for their sins. And Jesus being God, He's infinite and he can take it all if He suffers enough,, imagine how hard it is to punish your own son for the sins of your creation. Unimaginable... Abraham's test was no close to being a match because we are lesser and we can be compromised by God, God doesn't need us, but Abraham needed God so He was more bound and there is more and if you think long and deep enough you will find the meaning of all this...... Remember there is a reason God created the sacrifice and atonement way for Jews, so that one day when Jesus comes they can understand how Jesus is the Sacrifice lamb of the prophecies....... Faith is just a step. Faith is not enough. Grace is a wider concept, I think it includes that Jesus died is also a love and grace thing and grace is not just a separate thing others may think....

He doesn't do a good job of explaining this one. The Old Testament Patriarchs were in Sheol (Hebrew for the afterlife) before Christ. At the second coming of Christ, the dead (including Old Testament Patriarchs) will be resurrected. If the second coming was in 70 AD then the resurrection of the dead took place in 70 AD.

His answer does not address the question at all. What of those who died before Christ? Now, today when someone hears of the sacrifice of Christ for them they can choose to believe it or deny it. If they deny it altogether then they are not saved and we know from reading the Bible that to go heaven we do so through Christ and Christ alone- not by deeds or anything else. So, the old testament people had no Christ who had died for their sins because it hadn't happened yet. They did not get to hear of the Gospels of Christ life. They did not get to be told that you can be forgiven completely and that a sinless man came and died for you to have an eternal life with God. This is a big problem with Christianity. I have just started researching this topic myself and I have yet to find any sort of answer that makes any sense whatsoever. Jesus did not say that there was any other way to get to the father. If there were some other form used to judge those who lived prior to Christ then it is very logical to concede that Christ would have addressed that. However, HE DID NOT. At least from what I have read, did he ever mention those who died before him and them going to the father in any other way. The Bible is very clear that the only way to God is through Christ. Any explanation that suggests some other standard was used for those people who lived and died prior to Christ would absolutely contradict what we know that the Bible teaches us. The other problem that Christianity has is addressing the reality that there are those who have lived and died, after Christ came and died, and weren't afforded an opportunity to know Christ. The Bible tells us that the Gospels will be preached to all 4 corners of the Earth. I'm not saying this is an absolute, but given that there are those who died with no knowledge of Christ's sacrifice, it sincerely makes me wonder if there may be another opportunity at salvation/ forgiveness AFTER each individual life here on Earth. Let me say again, I'm not saying this is absolute and I'm not suggesting anybody put their money on black and think that such is the case. But, if you consider this, for example, those who have been murdered who have had their lives cut short than intended and if you consider babies who were aborted like my twin siblings and children who have been killed and didn't have the mind to fully understand what Christ did and be able to make that decision as to whether or not they wanted to accept Him as Lord and Savior it then would not be hard to consider that it's possible that they have an opportunity to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. I do believe that Christ died for our sins and that his overcame all sin on the cross so I do believe he died for EVERYBODY who has ever lived and will ever live. The issue, for me, comes down to explaining how EVERYBODY is afforded an opportunity at forgiveness when so many souls have died without the opportunity to know of Christ and his sacrifice. And, I would also argue, that those who died prior to Christ weren't afforded an opportunity at FAITH in the crucificion and the resurrection which are BOTH equally paramount, in my opinion, to understand so that one can choose to have the faith in those things that have not and yet to be seen.
Think about the fact that, God still sees our hearts regardless of when we were born, he can still see what we would have done with the information. so what exactly happened to them? i don’t know, but god is the ultimate judge, and he is a fair god.
Would it be possible to say that since all mankind has a common origin in Adam, those coming from and after Adam would have been informed about God from the beginning of humanity? So,in a sense, all of mankind would have had an awareness/ handed down knowledge of God, but drifted from Him.
What about say the indigenous people in the Amazon that (were dated to have lived there for 30,000+ years) lived way before Christianity? Or what say never even heard of Christ? Most people lived and died before Christianity was even around. Do they get sent to hell automatically because they lost the lottery on when/where they were born?
Great question. We have good reason to believe from the gospels that God has set out certain rules for our salvation namely belief in him, the sacraments, and obedience to his commands. But God does not have to follow the rules because he created them, so it's likely that those in the undiscovered Americas for example who never heard the Gospel in pursuing God in their own environments were able to join in his grace when they died. 2 things to note is that if God is pure justice and mercy, we will end up in the right place. And secondly, nobody deserves to go to Heaven. Anyone who does go there, does so through the grace of God.

But Abraham, David, Moses did not believe ON JESUS. That's the important distinction. Were they saved by believing God's other promises but not specifically on the atonement of Christ? I believe the just shall live by His faithfulness (Habakkuk 2.5). I believe in righteousness by faithfulness. God's faithfulness. So, then, God's people are saved because of His commitment to us, His unwavering faithfulness. It is only revealed in our faith.

What happens to those people who never got the chance to introduce their land or country in the bible, does that mean they’re all went in hell? What about those people who lived in asia, japan, philippines etc?
He only answered part of the question. What about those that never heard of Christ? Even today? Example: Some tribe of people that hasn't been found. Know nothing but trees and animals - how to survive. And I know even they worship something. We all have it in us to want to know "Why?" As in "Why are we here?"
@Jim Where does the Bible address this? Or is this just speculation? I ask because I've heard preachers say that people that have never heard of Jesus are going to Hell. Even the remotest tribe that live like ape men. (No, I don't believe in evilution.) Their reason is the only was to be saved is to believe in Jesus. If they don't believe they aren't saved. To me that makes no sense. How can they believe if they've never heard? I don't think anybody knows for sure.
My belief is that even if you've never heard of Christ or the gospel we've all been embedded by God with a moral code. So there's still a sense of right & wrong in every human. With that being said I don't believe that people will get an automatic free pass just because they never heard of Jesus. They will still be judged on how they lived and treated their fellow man & woman. People that have A) heard the true gospel and flat-out rejected it their whole lives B) accepted it then turned away from it and C) claimed to accept it and didn't live accordingly will be held to a much higher standard than those that never heard. People that never heard will be judged by what they did know innately through God's moral code.
@@ohyeah11000 Excellent questions! One answer that has given me some insight is that of Natural Revelation and Special Revelation. Natural Revelation is knowing that God exists because His attributes can be seen through nature (Romans 1:20). So perhaps one's honest pursuit to know the Creator could be seen as one's faith in God like many in the OT had their faith placed on the Messiah that was to come. Special Revelation is through the person of Jesus having manifested Himself in the flesh. So those during Christ and after believe in Him who had come and fulfilled God's perfect plan of redemption. One's faith is placed in God's promise to come and the other is placed in that which came. It's difficult to understand but I think that's an interesting thought to consider and possibly even start from, if plausible.

According to the Bible, the Jews believed in the one True God. But according to Paul ( in Romans Chapter 11 ) because they rejected Christ when He came they were cut off and not saved. Therefore, having faith in the one true God or even believing in God through nature and conscience does not guarantee salvation.

He never answered the question. The question was not about people who had heard "God's revelations" it was about people who had not. The common false belief is that they are all going to burn in hell. The Bible says otherwise. These people will be resurrected on earth and given a chance to learn about God and Jesus to once again live on earth but this time forever. The scriptures say the righteous and unrighteous will be resurrected. Be like a programmer programming a robot to flip burgers, which would be it's predetermined function. But let's say this burger flipping robot decided one day it would make french fries, then it would be breaking it's predetermined function and therefore have free will. Same is like people, I believe we have a predetermined function for what we're meant for, my belief is it's God. Seems to me "freewill" would (or should) mean "Do what you want and it will cost you nothing." But we cannot do that because we have a "sin nature." We often want to do the wrong things knowing they're wrong because of this sin nature. If we didn't have a sin nature we could do anything we ant because we wouldn't want to do anything wrong (sinful). Doesn't mean we wouldn't make mistakes. Just means we wouldn't curse when we do. (Just an example.) I don't understand how we can have "freewill" when we ae bound by the shackles of sin. Even bigger question here: I'm a sinner because I inherited a sin nature from Adam. Is it MY fault I inherited this sin nature from Adam? I it your fault you inherited a sin nature from Adam? Is it anybody's fault they are sinners? If it is not our fault we are sinners, why are we judged for our sins? How can we be? It's not our fault. This is something I have grappled with for years. He doesn't do a good job of explaining this one. The Old Testament Patriarchs were in Sheol (Hebrew for the afterlife) before Christ. At the second coming of Christ, the dead (including Old Testament Patriarchs) will be resurrected. If the second coming was in 70 AD then the resurrection of the dead took place in 70 AD.

I have personal experiences why I believe. Since I was a child, I suffered from sleep paralysis. Demonic beings would stab me, choke me, throw me around the room like a ragdoll. The little boy turned into a black smokey figure and flew away. And this all happened before I even read those words. It’s a miracle! And til this day, I am healed from sleep paralysis. His answer does not address the question at all. What of those who died before Christ? Now, today when someone hears of the sacrifice of Christ for them they can choose to believe it or deny it. If they deny it altogether then they are not saved and we know from reading the Bible that to go heaven we do so through Christ and Christ alone- not by deeds or anything else. So, the old testament people had no Christ who had died for their sins because it hadn't happened yet. They did not get to hear of the Gospels of Christ life. They did not get to be told that you can be forgiven completely and that a sinless man came and died for you to have an eternal life with God. This is a big problem with Christianity. I have just started researching this topic myself and I have yet to find any sort of answer that makes any sense whatsoever. Jesus did not say that there was any other way to get to the father. If there were some other form used to judge those who lived prior to Christ then it is very logical to concede that Christ would have addressed that. However, HE DID NOT. At least from what I have read, did he ever mention those who died before him and them going to the father in any other way. The Bible is very clear that the only way to God is through Christ. Any explanation that suggests some other standard was used for those people who lived and died prior to Christ would absolutely contradict what we know that the Bible teaches us. The other problem that Christianity has is addressing the reality that there are those who have lived and died, after Christ came and died, and weren't afforded an opportunity to know Christ. The Bible tells us that the Gospels will be preached to all 4 corners of the Earth. I'm not saying this is an absolute, but given that there are those who died with no knowledge of Christ's sacrifice, it sincerely makes me wonder if there may be another opportunity at salvation/ forgiveness AFTER each individual life here on Earth. Let me say again, I'm not saying this is absolute and I'm not suggesting anybody put their money on black and think that such is the case. But, if you consider this, for example, those who have been murdered who have had their lives cut short than intended and if you consider babies who were aborted like my twin siblings and children who have been killed and didn't have the mind to fully understand what Christ did and be able to make that decision as to whether or not they wanted to accept Him as Lord and Savior it then would not be hard to consider that it's possible that they have an opportunity to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. I do believe that Christ died for our sins and that his overcame all sin on the cross so I do believe he died for EVERYBODY who has ever lived and will ever live. The issue, for me, comes down to explaining how EVERYBODY is afforded an opportunity at forgiveness when so many souls have died without the opportunity to know of Christ and his sacrifice. And, I would also argue, that those who died prior to Christ weren't afforded an opportunity at FAITH in the crucificion and the resurrection which are BOTH equally paramount, in my opinion, to understand so that one can choose to have the faith in those things that have not and yet to be seen.
Think about the fact that, God still sees our hearts regardless of when we were born, he can still see what we would have done with the information. so what exactly happened to them? i don’t know, but god is the ultimate judge, and he is a fair god.
Would it be possible to say that since all mankind has a common origin in Adam, those coming from and after Adam would have been informed about God from the beginning of humanity? So,in a sense, all of mankind would have had an awareness/ handed down knowledge of God, but drifted from Him.
What about say the indigenous people in the Amazon that (were dated to have lived there for 30,000+ years) lived way before Christianity? Or what say never even heard of Christ? Most people lived and died before Christianity was even around. Do they get sent to hell automatically because they lost the lottery on when/where they were born?
Great question. We have good reason to believe from the gospels that God has set out certain rules for our salvation namely belief in him, the sacraments, and obedience to his commands. But God does not have to follow the rules because he created them, so it's likely that those in the undiscovered Americas for example who never heard the Gospel in pursuing God in their own environments were able to join in his grace when they died. 2 things to note is that if God is pure justice and mercy, we will end up in the right place. And secondly, nobody deserves to go to Heaven. Anyone who does go there, does so through the grace of God.

I believe the just shall live by His faithfulness (Habakkuk 2.5). I believe in righteousness by faithfulness. God's faithfulness. So, then, God's people are saved because of His commitment to us, His unwavering faithfulness. It is only revealed in our faith.

I don't think anybody knows for sure.
My belief is that even if you've never heard of Christ or the gospel we've all been embedded by God with a moral code. So there's still a sense of right & wrong in every human.
With that being said I don't believe that people will get an automatic free pass just because they never heard of Jesus.
They will still be judged on how they lived and treated their fellow man & woman.
People that have A) heard the true gospel and flat-out rejected it their whole lives B) accepted it then turned away from it and C) claimed to accept it and didn't live accordingly will be held to a much higher standard than those that never heard.
People that never heard will be judged by what they did know innately through God's moral code.
@@ohyeah11000 Excellent questions! One answer that has given me some insight is that of Natural Revelation and Special Revelation. Natural Revelation is knowing that God exists because His attributes can be seen through nature (Romans 1:20). So perhaps one's honest pursuit to know the Creator could be seen as one's faith in God like many in the OT had their faith placed on the Messiah that was to come. Special Revelation is through the person of Jesus having manifested Himself in the flesh. So those during Christ and after believe in Him who had come and fulfilled God's perfect plan of redemption. One's faith is placed in God's promise to come and the other is placed in that which came. It's difficult to understand but I think that's an interesting thought to consider and possibly even start from, if plausible.

According to the Bible, the Jews believed in the one True God. But according to Paul ( in Romans Chapter 11 ) because they rejected Christ when He came they were cut off and not saved. Where is he getting this from? There is no indication in the Old Testament of this concept of going to heaven after death, so no Jews in the time of (the mythical) Abraham believed that everybody was heading for heaven or hell. The idea that they would wake up in heaven to be told they had achieved their eternal reward because they had been washed of their sin by a man who did not exist yet, but would die for them in the future is nonsensical. However, that is what WLC is saying.
The New Testament does not address this conundrum either. If it did, then WLC would have quoted it, although other apologists have attempted to pull a verse or two out of Paul's epistles and twist it to answer the question, the argument is made out of his head. To be fair, at least WLC does not claim to be a modern day Prophet like fraudsters such as Kenneth Copeland etc, but he still likes to speak with an assumed authority on such matters. I still maintain that he sounds as if he was making much of what he said up as he went along, although he suggests he has answered the point before, so may be repeating something he previously said. In other words, it provides an articulate and authoritative answer to the question, without really addressing it properly. Another example of WLC doing this can also be found on RUclips when he answers the question about the morality of the Israelites killing all of the Canaanite children as commaned by God in the OT. Certainly, some were saved with no knowledge of Jesus. See for example Romans 4:9 and Hebrews 11.

First, why think that Abraham was "mythical"? Second, the ancient Jews did believe in a resurrection of the dead to life and immortality. So, even if they didn't believe in "going to heaven" (an erroneous view of the end times) or "going to hell" (a doctrine not explicated in those times), this does nothing to undermine the claim that the benefits of Christ's atonement could be applied to them because of their faith.

This misses the point of the story, which was God's faithfulness to Job and Job's faithfulness to God. Satan is the enemy of God and purposed to turn Job away from God. Had Job in fact turned away from God, he would have shown himself unfaithful and not been called "steadfast" in the Epistle of James. Who else does James mention? Abraham and his faith being counted to him as righteousness.

So, your argument is that he didn't mention biblical inerrancy in a two minute clip because he's avoiding the task of defending biblical inerrancy and wants the latitude to just make stuff up as he goes? God shows Himself through natural revelation and by creating a conscience (a conscience helps convict people of sin and helps guide them to follow God's law). so, those people could be saved even if they haven't heard the Gospel. anyways, it is only ultimately the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that allows for entrance into heaven.
and remember, God is just and fair. no one is getting unfairly judged in the afterlife. God is the ultimate standard of fairness, justice, goodness, and love.

He never answered the question. The question was not about people who had heard "God's revelations" it was about people who had not. The common false belief is that they are all going to burn in hell. The Bible says otherwise. These people will be resurrected on earth and given a chance to learn about God and Jesus to once again live on earth but this time forever. He know this but does not want to admit it because it goes against what he preaches.
The scriptures say the righteous and unrighteous will be resurrected. (Acts 24:15) And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. It is Jehovah God's intent to judge people under his righteous new kingdom after they have been made perfect like Adam. With exception to a few people most will be given a second chance at life without Satan and his demons.

﴿بَل قالوا أَضغاثُ أَحلامٍ بَلِ افتَراهُ بَل هُوَ شاعِرٌ فَليَأتِنا بِآيَةٍ كَما أُرسِلَ الأَوَّلونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٥]
But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]."
- Saheeh International
﴿ما آمَنَت قَبلَهُم مِن قَريَةٍ أَهلَكناها أَفَهُم يُؤمِنونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٦]
Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe?
- Saheeh International
﴿وَما أَرسَلنا قَبلَكَ إِلّا رِجالًا نوحي إِلَيهِم فَاسأَلوا أَهلَ الذِّكرِ إِن كُنتُم لا تَعلَمونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٧]
And We sent not before you, [O Muḥammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.
- Saheeh International
﴿وَما جَعَلناهُم جَسَدًا لا يَأكُلونَ الطَّعامَ وَما كانوا خالِدينَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٨]
And We did not make them [i.e., the prophets] forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth].
- Saheeh International
﴿ثُمَّ صَدَقناهُمُ الوَعدَ فَأَنجَيناهُم وَمَن نَشاءُ وَأَهلَكنَا المُسرِفينَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٩]
Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors.
- Saheeh International
﴿لَقَد أَنزَلنا إِلَيكُم كِتابًا فيهِ ذِكرُكُم أَفَلا تَعقِلونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ١٠]
We have certainly sent down to you a Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] in which is your mention. Then will you not reason?
- Saheeh International
﴿وَما أَرسَلنا مِن قَبلِكَ مِن رَسولٍ إِلّا نوحي إِلَيهِ أَنَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلّا أَنا فَاعبُدونِ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٢٥]
And We sent not before you any messenger except We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."
- Saheeh International
﴿وَقالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحمنُ وَلَدًا سُبحانَهُ بَل عِبادٌ مُكرَمونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٢٦]
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.
- Saheeh International
﴿لا يَسبِقونَهُ بِالقَولِ وَهُم بِأَمرِهِ يَعمَلونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٢٧]
They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command.
- Saheeh International
﴿يَعلَمُ ما بَينَ أَيديهِم وَما خَلفَهُم وَلا يَشفَعونَ إِلّا لِمَنِ ارتَضى وَهُم مِن خَشيَتِهِ مُشفِقونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٢٨]
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.
- Saheeh International
﴿وَمَن يَقُل مِنهُم إِنّي إِلهٌ مِن دونِهِ فَذلِكَ نَجزيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذلِكَ نَجزِي الظّالِمينَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٢٩]
And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him" - that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
- Saheeh International

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?
- Saheeh International
﴿وَجَعَلنا فِي الأَرضِ رَواسِيَ أَن تَميدَ بِهِم وَجَعَلنا فيها فِجاجًا سُبُلًا لَعَلَّهُم يَهتَدونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٣١]
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.
- Saheeh International
﴿وَجَعَلنَا السَّماءَ سَقفًا مَحفوظًا وَهُم عَن آياتِها مُعرِضونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٣٢]
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.
- Saheeh International
﴿وَهُوَ الَّذي خَلَقَ اللَّيلَ وَالنَّهارَ وَالشَّمسَ وَالقَمَرَ كُلٌّ في فَلَكٍ يَسبَحونَ﴾ [الأنبياء: ٣٣]
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.

What is "free will?"
Think hard.
Free will is the ability to make a choice. The actions that follow are already predetermined due to the moral foundation on which the choice is made. No action is unique and the choice on which it is founded will play itself out through said choice. That’s why God says in Matthew 12:30
“He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” Also, in John 8:44
When he says:
44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
In conclusion, because you have CHOSEN to follow Satan YOU WILL lie because those are the actions that follow the choice you’ve made. :)

* I don't say "100% free will" because it really cannot be less than that to have. If you have 50% (or any number less than 100) free will you have none.
One "good work" can void any amount of faith, if you decide to depend on that instead of Jesus. Just another example of "one or the other."
But if someone has faith they know good works don't save. "Good works" are the result of salvation, not a requirement.

Be like a programmer programming a robot to flip burgers, which would be it's predetermined function. But let's say this burger flipping robot decided one day it would make french fries, then it would be breaking it's predetermined function and therefore have free will. Same is like people, I believe we have a predetermined function for what we're meant for, my belief is it's God. But you see, sin, or evil is the thing that makes it so we break pre determined functions because that stuff is not intended for God's kingdom etc. Hopefully this helped, im always down for friendly conversation.😊

When I think of the words "free" and "will" I think "at no cost" (free) and "what you would do or have done" (will).
Seems to me "freewill" would (or should) mean "Do what you want and it will cost you nothing."
But we cannot do that because we have a "sin nature." We often want to do the wrong things knowing they're wrong because of this sin nature.
If we didn't have a sin nature we could do anything we ant because we wouldn't want to do anything wrong (sinful).
Doesn't mean we wouldn't make mistakes. Just means we wouldn't curse when we do. (Just an example.)
