Daniel you need to widen out your understanding. It is estimated that some 15 billion people have hitherto died . The vast majority have never heard of God, or his son, or seen any of His word or will. Since Jesus said "No man has ascended to heaven but he that descended, the son of man".. So what of those billions?. For most of them who died in ignorance are sleeping in death. Eccl 9:5,10. Psalm 146:3,4 they are in sheol, the Hebrew word for the grave. Not a hellfire either. That is why Jacob and Job wanted to go there, to escape emotional and physical pain. A number of verses speak of them "waking up" at a future time. That is called a RESURRECTION. The prophets spoke of it. Isiah 25:8, 26:19, Daniel 12: 13, Jesus John 11:11,14 , Mark 5:35,39, John 5:28,29 Luke Acts 7:60, Paul 1 Thess 4:13, 14, 15. They are in Gods super memory. In the "new earth" those billions will come back and show their true colors, having been educated in God and his will and purpose. Compare Isiah 11:9.
I dont know where you are quoting from Sir/ Madam. Acts 24:15 says KJV " ... there is going to be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust". The purpose of the 1000 year reign is largely for all who died before Pentecost 33CE to be resurrected and educated here on earth.. To be "anointed" or "sealed", one had to survive until then, and be in line for the "heavenly calling" Heb 3:1 . Compare Matt 11:11. Thus those ones can not plead ignorance when Satan and his angels are loosed to mislead those "in the 4 corners of the earth" Rev 20:7--15. Jesus :" Marvel not, the hour cometh when ALL those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out".KJV . They will be judged according to their deeds during the millenium, not on their past lives. John 5:28,29. Romans 6:7says "He who has died has been acquitted from his sin". In this way all will be given equal chance to be "saved." The Bible does mention certain categories, individuals of human kind that will not wake up, be resurrected, but that is another topic. "I believe he implied" wont stand unless you can back it up with scripture. Related to this is the fact that belief is not the same as assured faith that produces the doing and living by Gods will. This is made clear by Hebrews Chapter 11, the faith chapter. Also 1 John 2: 15--17, Jas. 2:18--26, Heb 10:36--39, Matt. 7:21--23 and much more. Shalom to you too.
But how about those ancient people who is far from the middle east where most of the old testament stories takes place? Like east asian and native american civilizations? Possible that they were not able to know about God (of christians) and his covenant. Are they saved too?
We are limiting God to our understanding of time and space. In God's view, everyone from Adam till the newest born today are existing in the same time&space. I believe that's Jesus died for everyone and to a much higher purpose than we can ever explain or understand.
Exodus 21 New International Version (NIV) 21 “These are the laws you are to set before them: ...20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property."... Is it right and moral to own somebody as property?
@84mvalles why? this man did not answer the question. JESUS "paid" for our sins not saved us. we have to be saved from ourselves. our lusts, our arrogance, all the sins in us have to be burned out of us. that is why the fiery trials in our lives so to burn the junk in us and humble us. again there is a difference between JESUS payment for our sins and salvation.
@Spooky Ghost "The Bible does not specifically condemn the practice of slavery. It gives instructions on how slaves should be treated (Deuteronomy 15:12-15; Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 4:1), but does not outlaw slavery altogether. Many see this as the Bible condoning all forms of slavery. What many fail to understand is that slavery in biblical times was very different from the slavery that was practiced in the past few centuries in many parts of the world. The slavery in the Bible was not based exclusively on race. People were not enslaved because of their nationality or the color of their skin. In Bible times, slavery was based more on economics; it was a matter of social status" I don't care if it wasn't based on race or a "social status". Why the fuck are you relativizing moral issue??? Was it EVER right and moral to own a fuckin human being? People were killing each other at that time as well as today, but God didn't have a problem to command "Thou shall not kill" Why does he have a problem with "Thou shall not own a human being and beat them"? Is moral an eternal Law of God of universe ever present??? Or is it a relativistic speculation and compromise between God almighty and little people, like "Ya know... naaah, they like to make wars and kill and enslave, just lettem have some fun... and by the way, just don't kill your slaves from beating, otherwise you're good to go". That seems he said...

@J Ernest Salvation is: justification, sanctification and glorification. Justified by the life, death, resurrection and ascencion of Lord Jesus. Sanctified by a life time of good works, and the first of which is to be born again of water and Spirit. Glorified is when we are made holy and allowed to enter into a perfect Kingdom of Lord Jesus. So justification is not the entirety of salvation. Today is the day of salvation not yesterday. And since we are not promised tomorrow, today is the day of salvation. Paul says we should walk in good works, and we are nearer our salvation than we we first believed. Paul says Lord Jesus will return to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. James says faith without works is dead. Lord Jesus says He will reward every man according to his works. Lord Jesus says if you don't believe in His words then believe in His works. Lord Jesus says if we don't produce good works we will be broken off and cast into the fire. Lord Jesus says if we backslide into sin and lukewarm-ness, He will spew luke warmers out of His mouth. So faith in Lord Jesus is ongoing and continuous. Faith is active. Lord Jesus says freely give because you have freely received. Be born again of water and Spirit: Man of God. Not woman of God but a man of God who dunks you under water completely declaring exactly, "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." Titles baptism: "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit/Ghost for the remission of sins." Titles baptism is incomplete because it does not use the name of Jesus. Titles baptism is a modern day equivalent to John the Baptist's baptism. John The Baptist did not baptize using the name of Jesus, so we look to Acts 19: v1 thru v7 to see Paul completing our understanding that water baptism must be performed using the name of Lord Jesus. All the Apostles went out and performed miracles and water-baptisms using the name of Jesus Christ as well. The only way Matthew 28: v19 and Acts 19: v1 thru v7 and Acts 2: v38 can be reconciled is with the understanding Lord Jesus is Father Jesus. Lord Jesus is Father, Son, and Spirit. Lord Jesus has hundreds of titles, more titles than any other leader in history. Father, Son, and Spirit are just three of Jesus' titles. Before you go to that man of God, ask him if he knows the difference between titles baptism and baptism in the name of Jesus. If he doesn't then find someone who does. Apostolic Pentecostals know what is proper water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. You don't have to consider yourself an Apostolic Pentacostal just because you were water baptized by an Apostolic Pentacostal minister. You are being born again into Lord Jesus and His church, and Apostolic Pentacostal ministers are the few men of God who understand the importance of using the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus was, is and will always be a Jew Who said follow Him. Lord Jesus never talked about groups or denominations. And it was people in Antioch who first called Lord Jesus' followers Christians. So the first Christians were Jews. And we gentiles who are born again of water and Spirit are grafted into the Jewish faith and can just as easily be broken off and cast into the fire if we don't produce good works. If all a person can do is pray ? ... then that is indeed a righteous work which is commanded by Lord Jesus. So, after you are born again of water and Spirit, and you want to call yourself a Messianic-Jew, or an Apostolic Pentacostal, or a Christian ... so be it. I choose to call myself a born again believer in Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth Who is the one and only Lord God of Heaven. Remember, the oldest doctrine in the Holy Bible: God is one. Amen. And either before [Acts 10: v44] or after [Acts 19: v6] your water baptism of repentance, you will receive a second and separate Spiritual baptism. Once you have both water and Spiritual baptisms ... Congratulations, consider yourself born-again of water and Spirit. But that is just a beginning, it's not a guaranteed ticket to heaven because a person can always walk away from their faith by their own free will. Or just as tragic, a person's free will can let them backslide into sin and lukewarm-ness. To avoid those dangers we must be in an ongoing relationship with Lord Jesus, meaning a cooperation. Among other things, we must study and share His truth of the Holy Bible with others. When we sin after being water baptized we are to have our feet washed as commanded and demonstrated by Lord Jesus at the Last Supper. As well. Fasting from food and other things, along with prayer is a must. As singers would say, in harmony. Amen. Don't tell people you're "saved." Instead tell people you began-to-be-saved, are being-saved, and will-be-saved as when Lord Jesus returns in glory or He calls one home before that incredible event.
@Ilionshebnne Mro You are indoctrinated. Go to a man of God who knows the difference between titles baptism and baptism in the title-name-title of Lord Jesus Christ
I agreed with the one who commented that he happened upon this channel by chance, yet, as with me, God has a way of leading those unto His truth to those who desires it. Therefore; we happened upon this channel by the grace of God, through faith in Him who alone knows the desire of our hearts. He truly never loves us comfort - less. May we continue to seek after the righteousness of God through faith in Him who lives.
Thank you so much for this video and for your teachers that explain things so well. As credible as they are along with their credentials, it is simplified to where anyone can understand it. That is a true blessing from God. Keep fighting the good fight.
Paul says God is no respector of persons. Peter also makes such a statement in Acts 10. God saves everyone by the same way through grace and Jesus is God's grace personified.
Great words you shared! Yes, God has consistently operated according to judgement, mercy/grace and faith, from beginning to end! Sacrifices were repeatedly offered, not because they didn’t take away guilt but because the people kept sinning, and therefore guilt was always around. That Hebrews passage directly talks about the writing of God’s law on our hearts and of actually doing God’s will, in addition to forgiveness, in explaining how repeated sacrifices for guilt will no longer be needed. Or was God lying when He said He would recognize the animal sacrifices and actually forgive people? If a person still felt guilty, that was not the fault of the sacrifice, the priest, the law or God-but of their own lack of faith in what God Himself directly said. Thanks!
Ephesians 2:8-9: 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Thanks! The lamb was slain before the foundation of the world -- so all humanity throughout all time could take advantage Christ's atonement -- although it DID have to eventually occur in time and space.
@@kcoble1000 but the Bible says, you have to believe in the name of Jesus and gets baptized. So how did the old testament people believe in Jesus and baptized?
@@jatwangismyname900 you are taking a New Testament verse and trying to read it back into the Old Testament. In the Old Testament they were saved by faith. They were saved by believing in the coming Messiah. Jesus came in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. They were saved by believing the prophecies that he would come and be their redeemer. All the way back to Genesis 3:15 they were looking to a man born through a woman to bruise the head of the serpent. If Adam and Eve believed the promise of Genesis 3:15 they were putting their faith in the Christ who would later in the flesh be revealed as Jesus. They didn't have all the information we have, but even going back that far they were called to have faith. Adam and Eve saw in the garden that God shed the blood of an animal to cover their sin. These were all pictures looking forward to Christ who was eventually fleshed out in the New Testament.

@George in S.C. So what do you have to say to those refusing to be properly water-baptized in the name of Jesus as in Acts 19: v1 thru v7 ? Why did Paul "rebaptize" those twelve even after being water baptized in John the Baptist's baptism ? John the Baptist who was sent by Lord Jesus to start the water baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Where is your understanding of having faith in that work ? Where is your understanding of foot washing at the Lord's Supper which is commanded and was demonstrated by Lord Jesus ? Salvation in not just being justified through faith. Salvation includes sanctification and glorification.
Only one way to remove guilt! Are you kidding? Romans 8:29 seems to provide the answer when it says that those He foreknew (which would be the OT believers) were conformed to the image of His Son. Even though the sacrifice hadn't taken place yet, they were still saved by the work that Jesus did on the cross. They didn't understand all of that, but God gave them all the benefits of the sacrifice even though it was a future event for them.

@@freightshayker Yes David those had their purposes. (1) prove him to be Messiah, (2)That God had shifted from Judaism to Pure Christianity after 1600 years, (3) compassion for the suffering, (4) to provide a foregleam of the paradise "new earth". Isiah 11:9, Psm 37:29, 34. Matt. 5:5, 2 Pet. 3:13, Rev 21:4, 22:1,2.
When the apostles had all died the miraculous gifts of the spirit FROM GOD ceased. Acts 2:4, 2:43, 5:12, 8:18, 11:15, 19:5. It was not necessary for the recipient to have faith. There were a number of miracles performed in which the person did not know who the giver was. Apart from one case of a demon there were NO FAILURES. Todays so called "spirit filled" "charismatics" "Pentecostals" various faith healers are Satans tools for deception. They have just a smidgeon of success. Compare John 16:11,12. No UNITY = all a sham.
Didn't Paul say that believers were allowed to eat pork and didn't have to be circumcized? This would imply that at least part of the old laws were not applicable to them. I'm not saying that's the case but its hard to reconcile those words. I've heard it said that Paul was not even a true apostle, but a false one sent by satan to deceive with a false gospel. If we are to obey all the Jewish law, how far does that go? Are we literally obligated to kill a disobedient child? Is it actually a sin to wear garments of mixed fabric? Or was Jesus mainly concerned with the ten commandments? The New testament seems to imply that salvation was not previously open to gentiles, but isn't it true that gentiles have always been welcome to worship alongside Jews? The Bible says there was one law for the Jews and for the foreigners among them.

We are saved by trusting in the word of God which we hear in our heart. It is a positive response to God speaking to us. Abraham, Moses and many others were thus saved. Even Muslims can be saved if they hear God and trust His revealed word in their heart. With God, there are no Muslims, Buddhists or even Christians, only those who trust Him, and those who do not trust Him. However, Christians have the blessing to know that that word is Jesus Christ, the revelation of which we are commanded to tell others, but even then they still need to hear the word to be saved. There is no distinction. Not all who call Him Lord, Lord, will be saved. The first revelation of God in our heart is when one is born of the Spirit of God, and becomes His child. Very young children are not very good with language yet they can still trust.
This is one of the first video's I have agreed with on the two covenants, Most people believe the Old Covenant was the Ten Commandments but if you read what happens at Horeb between God and Moses and the children of Israel you'll The Old Covenant is given to Israel through the writing's of Moses that God instructs him to give them such as the feast days, the sacrificial system, the sabbatical system of worship and so forth. After the children of Israel agree to do all these things that God has given to Moses then he go's back up the mountain and receives the Ten Commandment's. The covenant was instructed to be placed in a specially design holder on the side of the Ark of the covenant and the commandments were to be placed inside the ark under the mercy seat. The covenant was not the commandments but the Mosaic Laws and ceremonies. The commandments are eternal, Paul says without the Law there can be no sin and John in 1 John says Sin is transgression of God Law, Paul also says I would not have know lust had the Law not said thou shalt not commit adultery. This being the case we can see that sin is breaking the commandments and if the commandments didn't exist then sin wouldn't exist because there wouldn't be a law to break. Like wise in heaven when Lucifer sinned there had to be Laws ( commandments ) to make a choice to break them. The Bible says Lucifer coveted God's throne and power for himself. Commandment number 10 " Thou shalt not covet. " In the Garden of Eden the same is true when Eve is tempted by the serpent which is possessed by Lucifer. When Cain murders his brother Abel if there was no Law or commandment against murder God could not lay a charge against him for any wrong doing. Then in Genesis 26:5 you see God speaking of Abraham where he says because Abraham kept all my Laws, statues, commandments and precepts he found favor with God. My point here is because people think the old covenant were the commandments they do away with them through the new covenant which Jesus gave to the disciple's this is not the case though. In Jeremiah 31:31-34 God says in the time to come I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. A new covenant with who? Israel and Judah, not the gentiles this happened at the last supper when Jesus broke bread with the disciples all of them were Jews not a single one of the 12 were a gentile. Then when Paul talks about the new covenant he refers it in a parable of an olive tree where the original branches have been cut off, those original branches were the Jews. Then he says when anyone Jew or Gentile accepts Jesus they are grafted back into the vine which represents Jesus and become part of spiritual Israel accepting the message the Jews were suppose to receive and accept but didn't That message was Jesus and his ministry. Jeremiah 31:31-34 says he would write his Laws into their hearts and minds also, this shows that the commandments are still valid for us today, we don't keep them to be saved we keep them because we are saved for they become part of the heart and mind when we truly surrender our life to Jesus and live a sanctified life through his word and his Holy Spirit. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I have come to destroy he Law or the prophets, I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. The word for fulfill here is pléroó which means to make full, to complete. In the context of Matthew 5:17 it means to carry into effect, bring to realization, realize. Jesus magnified the Law in and through himself as our example of how to have a perfectly sanctified life through the will to carry out the will of his father in heaven. This has to be the case because in Matthew 5:17 Jesus says think not that I come to destroy or get rid of the Law or the prophets, I did not come to destroy but fulfill. Now when we read on in verse 18-19 he says till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or one tittle shall pass from the Law till all be fulfilled the word fulfilled here means complete. What would be complete? certainly not the Law he says it won't fade till heaven and earth pass away, so the only logical assumption here that Jesus was speaking of was the completeness of his word and writing's of the prophecy's of the prophets which is not fulfilled until the passing of this world. Conclusion The commandments are indeed still valid and since this is the case my friends ask yourself one question why does the Christian world keep Sunday as the Sabbath instead of God sanctified Sabbath sundown Friday threw sundown Saturday and why do preacher's teach the old covenant was the commandments when clearly in Exodus and Deuteronomy it isn't even given until after the covenant is made between God and Israel.
Matthew 22:36 addresses where Jesus makes a more full understanding of the 10 commandments. If ones heart is yielded toward loving God and He loves his neighbor than all the rest of the commandments are fulfilled.
@@unitewithch Amen! People don't get it's a matter of Love for Christ in our hearts that is the fulfilling of the Law, However, Being saved requires Obedience as well. It was the Levitical laws of feasts, ceremonies, and ceremonial Sabbaths days that were nailed to the cross, All 615 Laws of Moses were a foreshadow of the sanctuary message and Jesus as our redeemer, once Jesus Fulfilled them they were no longer needed. But the Ten Commandments have always been needed, The Law acts as a mirror showing us the sin in our lives so that we can see it and come to Christ for cleansing. People preach they keep the spirit of the Law now, but if one is keeping the spirit then the letter is fulfilled because of our love for our Father in heaven and our fellow men and women in this world. John 15:10,11 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. clearly, Jesus wants and expects his disciples ( followers ) to keep the commandments.

It's so funny to me. Do people really just wake up in the morning and think, I'm going to go spend today watching RUclips videos about things I dont believe. And them make sure to reply to as many comments as I can of the people who do. I can't stand the taste of Pepsi so I have to spend today on the Pepsi comments telling people that I don't like it.
@Chait Singh Said the guy who demands natural "proof" of a supernatural God ... yet ... is fine with dark matter, dark energy, and inflatons all being hypothetical ... all outside the realm of known science ... ergo supernatural.
@Chait Singh Friend. The comparison between Creation and naturalism is lost on you. Because you don't know what believers know ... pause for effect ... you can only guess at what have believers. And you are stomping your proverbial-foot at lack of supernatural God-proof ... while you accept supernatural ideas that try and explain your worldview. You have been indoctrinated with so-called millions-of-years as to the age of the universe ... so anything contrary to millions-of-years is not even considered. Go look in the mirror and see how many times you can repeat your worldview's foundational statement: "We came from rocks." Good grief. After you stop laughing at yourself, go get properly water-baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins per Acts 2: v38 ... and you'll start to understand about what believers are talking.
@Chait Singh You can communicate without using abbreviations of swear-words. Then you can try to explain from where comes the ability to know right from wrong
What a good Presbyterian theologian. All he spoke is covenant theology. I think the Apostles creed applies here. No one was saved in the OT. They went to hell in a section walled off called Abraham's bosom. Jesus Christ descended into Hell and preached the gospel to them for 3 days Luke 16:19-31. And Jesus rose on the 3rd and ascended into heaven. Amen
I would love to hear you guys breaking down the more modern and accurate translation to things that relate to "The Dark Night of the Soul" such as Jeremiah in Lamentations Chapter 3 saying that God led him into darkness and not into light or Job saying that God raised Himself up as an enemy towards Job. Is this KJV text misconstrued or even less severe than the narraator's intent?
Lamentations if God or jesus ever came just once? over 1000s of years siting duckes living and dying with nothing is cruel in it self and impossible to believe. if Jesus just came 30 years later would have been long enough but not this continuing to oblivion over thousands of years going to waste .
Romans 5:9-11: 9 So, now that we have been made righteous by his blood, we can be even more certain that we will be saved from God's wrath through him. 10 If we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son while we were still enemies, now that we have been reconciled, how much more certain is it that we will be saved by his life? 11 And not only that: we even take pride in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, the one through whom we now have a restored relationship with God.
3 times The Bible says Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him as or for righteousness. It is belief in the trur God the same that it is in the New Testament it's just able to be a focused belief now in the Godman Jesus Christ the Lord the true middleman between us and the Godhead and the mediator of the New Covenant who seal our savation in His own blood the ultimate scapegoat for the sins of the whole world.
@@siouxcityelectric9281 Nope. The NT clearly teaches faith alone saves. If you put one ounce of our own merit as required for salvation then you will bust heaven wide open and all of it will pour out into hell
@@acarpentersson8271 Saved from what ? ... committing more sin ? ... hardly. Friend. Salvation is: justification, sanctification and glorification. Meaning faith plus works equals glory. Go get properly water-baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins per Acts 2: v38
Jesus also teaches that salvation is conditional. I realize that is an unpopular position in a world where Christianity has largely mutated into a lazy version of the first century active worship practiced by the apostles and disciples. However, Jesus stated in MATTHEW 24:13 that on the condition of those who ENDURE to the END that person shall/WILL Be saved. The language there is not present tense. It indicates a FUTURE HOPE. Most professed Christians claim to be saved, RIGHT NOW! Yet, Jesus clearly stated, USING EFFECTIVE READING, that “the one who has ENDURED to the end WILL BE SAVED. That’s a FUTURE PROSPECT. Before he declared this necessary component of salvation, Jesus listed events and things that would occur. Jesus foretold events as well as treatment TRUE followers of his would be required to ENDURE. Now, I’m certain all of his followers would not be subjected to affliction or killings but they were prophesied to be HATED by all nations. Consequently, Jesus informed his apostles and by extension anyone who chooses to follow him, that endurance was a requirement for salvation. Enduring opposition, trials, natural disasters, Nationalistic pursuits, wars, pestilences and famine is an expectation of Christ. Christians must demonstrate that nothing or no one will ever cause them to relinquish their relationship with Christ, compromise their faith, and waver in their loyalty to God. Either until God brings the aforementioned (events) to their end or until the end of your earthly life. In that manner you WILL or SHALL be saved. (ZEPHANIAH 2:3)
Bible Truth I don’t care which OPINION you believe. I subscribe to my own belief of who the true God is and no RUclips comment will cause me to relinquish my position. As I’ve stated many times, the TRUTH is only what we are willing to accept as truth. No one knows God’s true name which is why I’m not dogmatic about it. The people in the OT probably had no clue what the Messiah would do on the cross, but hoped for a deliverer from enemies. The people in the OT were saved by grace, but not through faith! Paul says, "But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian" (Gal. 3:23-25). You see they weren't justified by faith prior to Christ. Abraham was a prophetic type of this age of faith and justification.
The bible is clear on this. They were saved by the blood of the lamb. They looked forward to it in faith, we look back on it in faith. The dispensations of law and grace are unfounded. They had the blood of the lamb, just like we do.
Super lecture. Can you do a sermon on "the unforgiving debtor"? The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant is a parable of Jesus which appears in the Gospel of Matthew. According to Matthew 18:21-35 it is important to forgive others as we are forgiven by God, as illustrated by the negative example of the unforgiving servant. Amen
I think the first thing this Christ-bitten ignoramus should have made you all conscious of is the fact that the Gospel of Matthew, as were the Gospels of Mark, Luke and John was written by a person or persons unknown. The names attributed to the Gospels were added by the early church fathers to distinguish one from the other, no one knows who wrote them. My problem is that this chap who is preaching is either unaware of this fact or is deliberately concealing it from you all, either way it reflects very badly on either his religious education or his moral character.
So sad that not everyone understands the role of faith staying consistent throughout the Old and New Testaments. I have addressed this on my channel as well. Genesis 15:6 Is pretty clear "Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness"
A very good question and a reasonable attempt at an answer. I suppose it depends how you understand being "saved". Clearly, the patriarchs believed in Yahweh. The nation of Israel was in a covenant relationship with Yahweh. Jesus, a Jew, prayed to and worshiped Yahweh. Do you think Yahweh might have something to do with it?
Being saved meaning regenerated out of the line of Adam and into the line of Christ. The covenants had nothing to do with salvation but rather fellowship with god.
@@ewankerr3011 No, They we’re all clearly saved being regenerated out of the line of Adam and into the line of Christ. Salvation for the OT saints has nothing to do with them keeping covenants. Abraham believed god and it was accounted to him as righteousness. Lot who made terrible moral choices was seen by god as being righteous because of his faith.
@@unitewithch : So how are they regenerated out of the line of Adam and into the line of Christ if they died before the Holy Spirit was poured out and before they could be born again? If they were counted as righteous in some way, does this in itself mean they are 'saved'?
@@ewankerr3011 OT saints = born spiritually dead in Adam and needed to be regenerated by faith so that he can have a relationship with God and brought into the family of God. ( Jesus conversation with nicodemus) His regeneration was different than the NT saint because he was not permanently indwelled with the Holy Spirit or in Union with Christ (i.e David “create in me a clean heart”) The covenants given to the Nation of Israel were solely based on how God wanted them to relate to him in continued fellowship and had nothing to do with individual salvation. God imputing righteousness by faith is the same for the OT and the NT believer however the content of the faith was different, example NT believers are to believe in death, burial and resurrection while Abraham believed in directly what god told him. I.e “he will be a father of many nations”
It was a symbol, a reminder, that the Messiah was coming to take their place for their sins. Sacrificing an animal in waiting for the Messiah was an act of not only repentance but faith.
Excellent points. I'm sure that most, if not all, Jewish people had a belief that a future messiah was coming. But did they all have a belief strong enough to transcend into a faith that prompted them to act? Probably not. James (ch 2) says a faith without works is dead. He is saying that it takes more than just an intellectual belief. It takes a faith that is sufficiently strong enough to prompt you into action. For the OT Jews, that action was at least a continual practice of sacrifices. But their faith was in something that had not yet come. For us NT Christians, the object of our faith has already come. So our faith must be sufficient for us to put on Christ through baptism, and then rise and walk in a new and transformed life, one that glorifies God rather than self. A faith so weak that it doesn't even compel the obedient act of baptism is a dead faith from the get-go.
1:36 “The man named his wife Eve because she was the mother of all the living. I don’t think that means that she was the first woman so that descendants would come from her. I think it means something more than that.” But does it mean that? Was Eve the first woman and are all of humankind physical/genetic descendants of Adam and Eve?
Yes all humans get their mitochondrial DNA from their Mother -- so everyone today has the same Mitochondrial DNA as Eve -- with the exception that our mitochondrial DNA has been damaged and bears the replication mistakes that have occurred over the past 6 thousand years.

Before Christ people were saved by faith in a dimly perceived saviour to come and after the lamb of God took away the sins of the world, we are saved by faith that history is true. It has a beautiful chiastic structure just like the book of revelation.
All the ordinances in the OT, yet all they had to do was look forward to the cross? Also the apostles had no understanding of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus until the very end of the gospel accounts. In the words of Peter "Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee."
The substance of the gospel was understood to the Old Testament believers. They certainly knew that God was going to have to send the Messiah, that this Messiah would be perfect, sinless, and totally innocent. They knew He would have to bear the sins of mankind and yes, they knew He was going to rise from the dead. Even Job, the oldest book in the Bible, speaks in very clear terms about the resurrection. So there you have it. The death, burial, and resurrection of our sin substitute, the "Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world". Btw, When John the Baptist preached that they were still under the Old Covenant all the way up to when the Lord Jesus Christ, our sinless and innocent Lamb, paid the price for our sins on the cross and rose again. When Jesus preached to Nicodemus that "ye must be born again" he was talking to a man under the Old Covenant who was well aquainted with the Old Testament. This clearly means that Nicodemus, under the Old Covenant would have to be saved the exact same way as anyone else, by faith in the sacrifice of the Lamb of God who shed His innocent blood for our sins and rose again.
I have a question. Please help me. I agree that the people in the old testament were saved like us by faith in Jesus Christ. But what i dont understand is this: Why did they have to keep all the law, sacrifice animals, keep all rituals? Why do we say that they were "under the law" unlike us who are under grace? Why would they work for their salvation by doing all these things if they were simply saved by faith?
I would asnwer that God requires perfection. So that sacrificial "atonement", yet being temporary, gave them their forgiveness. But Jesus is the fullfilled, sacrificed lamb. Once, for all. FOR all people. The idea God lets us into heaven dirty is just not true. BUT, Jesus, being a spotless, blameless, atoning sacrifice for us, while we were still sinners, paid for it. We "go up", because of Him who lives in us. No merit by our works, because our works are like filthy rags. The Jews are blinded, in part, by the richness of the truth they were half understanding all those years ago. Pray for Israel! 🇮🇱
They CHOSE to be under the law. In Deut. 28, Moses offered the law to them. If you recall, they told Moses "we don't want God talking to us directly. Instead, YOU tell us what God wants and we'll do it. As a result, there could be no fellowship. The law doesn't offer fellowship/friendship -- only obedience. Also, the law can't fix anything -- it only shows us how broken we are. As Christians we can fall in to the same trap, thinking that God owes up something when we're good or work hard for Him. But it's a trap. We don't mind the law when it gets us stuff -- but we all hate the law when we fail. I prefer grace -- which the option made much clearer but the act of atonement demonstrated by Jesus on the cross.
Less than a minute into this vid, & he's absolutely correct!! Edit: 2 mins in & I object. Adam named Eve before the fall & had no knowledge of any redemptive promise of God at that point in history. Noone had fallen yet.. That being said, I do agree with his conclusion.
JESUS did "pay" for ALL sins from Adam and Eve till all the sins going on this world today. but the sins that JESUS paid for still have to be destroyed and that is what salvation is. salvation means saving us from ourselves. we have to be saved from within out. as in "clean the inside of the cup" ONLY GOD'S holy spirit {power} can accomplish that. JESUS said when the comforter the spirit of TRUTH comes it will teach you ALL things. that holy spirit came in full force on the day of pentecost.
The sacrificial lamb was a symbol or type of the great and last sacrifice, even the lamb of God, pure and unspotted. From Adam on the people were to look forward for the coming of the one who would redeem us, even Jeshua. Faith on him then and now (which includes receiving the covenant) and by his grace, in love, saves all. The covenant inherently entails doing His will, not ours, and enduring, no matter the cost. A high price, but the promise is that it is worth it.
everyone back then went to sheol, but alot of them went to the good side in paradise, but Jesus had to actually go there in order for them to be saved and go back to heaven
Salvation by believing in a "coming deliverer" or "looking forward to" the cross is a Mormon doctrine (1 Nephi 11:33, Jacob 7:11, 2 Nephi 6:9, etc). Nothing could be further from the truth! No one was ever saved "on credit" ahead of time. They could only establish their "righteousness" by obeying the laws and commandments (Deut 6:25) which had to be maintained until death (Ezek 18:24), yet even then their personal righteousnesses were regarded "as filthy rags" (Isa 64:6). It could get them as far as "Abraham's bosom" (place of comfort), but not to heaven. It was a system of WORKS pure and simple.
How do you explain Genesis 15:6, and Romans 3:25? As well as Ro 3:20, Ga 2:16, Eph 2:8-9 and many others. Are you trying to say that there were other means of salvation? I thought the Lord made it as clear as possible that Christ is the only way to heaven (John 14:6)

@@swtor20 Your comments prove my point. You say Christ is the only way to heaven. That's true. But if "Abraham believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness" (Gen 15:6), why was he not in heaven after he died, but rather on the other side of a gulf watching souls be tormented? even talking to them (Luke 16:19-31) but unable to help them? From Genesis to Revelation - Everyone is saved by the FAITH, Through Grace of God.
In the old testament they had to sacrifice animals to clean their sins
We are limiting God to our understanding of time and space. In God's view, everyone from Adam till the newest born today are existing in the same time&space. I believe that's Jesus died for everyone and to a much higher purpose than we can ever explain or understand.

In Bible times, slavery was based more on economics; it was a matter of social status"

@J Ernest
Salvation is: justification, sanctification and glorification.
Be born again of water and Spirit:
Man of God. Not woman of God but a man of God who dunks you under water completely declaring exactly, "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins."
Titles baptism: "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit/Ghost for the remission of sins." Titles baptism is incomplete because it does not use the name of Jesus.
Amen.

Such a good panorama of the Bible. Thank you so much for expounding on this.
But the way grace came was different back then.
So Abraham, Moses, Joseph, etc etc we're not saved? Is that what you're saying?
Thanks!
Hi i don't 100% know what you mean, but God can not possibly lie :)

Agreed. I’ve heard the dispensationalist arguments and they are unconvincing. Nice work!

Ok but for real where can I find the tie Dr. Gentry is wearing? :D
John thanks so much for that breakdown brother. bless your soul
@@bradkemp7433 your welcome brother glad you liked it, and hope it helped. Some people though for all their degrees still don't get it.
Then you all keep contradicting the scripture is that a sin? in a way it is because you choose like most people who are christian do it often enough. who will fallow such ? an idiot might but not one with the slightest of intelligence.

Do you know what it means to be born again of water and Spirit ?
Answer: You should.
Salvation is: justification, sanctification and glorification.

Thinking about the cross is not the entirety of salvation. Because the cross means nothing without the White Throne Judgement. That's when Lord Jesus will say: It is done.
Bible Truth
I don’t care which OPINION you believe. I subscribe to my own belief of who the true God is and no RUclips comment will cause me to relinquish my position. As I’ve stated many times, the TRUTH is only what we are willing to accept as truth. No one knows God’s true name which is why I’m not dogmatic about it. But I’m willing to accept the Tetragrammaton as true. If you are not, so what, you’re free to believe and accept what you wish. Have a good day!
Be well...

24 And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
2 For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.
1 Chronicles 21:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
21 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.
The Lord is Satan.
Beautiful!
Great response.
Thank you was wondering about this.
Very good Thank you !
I never heard this before. I always thought that the death of clean animals sacrificed in the temple brought our cleanliness back after we sin.
When I asked lord Jesus Christ about this to give answer to this question God the Holy Spirit told me the same answer as you told
So sad that not everyone understands the role of faith staying consistent throughout the Old and New Testaments. I have addressed this on my channel as well. Genesis 15:6 Is pretty clear "Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness"
But his works perfected his faith justification and righteousness came at different intervals . His faith was made perfect....James 2
Abraham knew my day and was glad.
Is there a promise of resurrection of dead in the Old Testament? Any promise of heaven for old testament saints.
thx a lot
John 8:56
Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
@@unitewithch : So was no one saved until the time of Christ? Was there no hope for Abraham.,Moses and the prophets?
@@ewankerr3011 No, They we’re all clearly saved being regenerated out of the line of Adam and into the line of Christ. Salvation for the OT saints has nothing to do with them keeping covenants. Abraham believed god and it was accounted to him as righteousness. Lot who made terrible moral choices was seen by god as being righteous because of his faith.
@@unitewithch : So how are they regenerated out of the line of Adam and into the line of Christ if they died before the Holy Spirit was poured out and before they could be born again? If they were counted as righteous
in some way, does this in itself mean they are 'saved'?
For they believed GOD, by the ONE to come, ✝ who was and is and is to come
So what was the point of animal sacrifice?
It was a symbol, a reminder, that the Messiah was coming to take their place for their sins. Sacrificing an animal in waiting for the Messiah was an act of not only repentance but faith.
Great!
I have a question regarding this video, to whom may I direct it to?
1:36 “The man named his wife Eve because she was the mother of all the living. I don’t think that means that she was the first woman so that descendants would come from her. I think it means something more than that.”
But does it mean that? Was Eve the first woman and are all of humankind physical/genetic descendants of Adam and Eve?
Yes all humans get their mitochondrial DNA from their Mother -- so everyone today has the same Mitochondrial DNA as Eve -- with the exception that our mitochondrial DNA has been damaged and bears the replication mistakes that have occurred over the past 6 thousand years.
What does it make out of what the hell your trying to form or get at.

What about our ancestors that didn't live in the area
Before Christ people were saved by faith in a dimly perceived saviour to come and after the lamb of God took away the sins of the world, we are saved by faith that history is true. It has a beautiful chiastic structure just like the book of revelation.
When the Bible says Eve is the mother of all the living I believe it means just that, everyone, except for Adam.
John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
King James Version (KJV)
But what i dont understand is this:
Why did they have to keep all the law, sacrifice animals, keep all rituals?
What about people from other countries who didn't have the Law and didn't hear about Yahve the God of Israel?
Alex Damin evangelicals don’t care. As long as they’re “saved” it wouldn’t occur to them about people being saved outside of their little systems
Less than a minute into this vid, & he's absolutely correct!!
Edit: 2 mins in & I object. Adam named Eve before the fall & had no knowledge of any redemptive promise of God at that point in history. Noone had fallen yet..
That being said, I do agree with his conclusion.
Great teachings, but be careful about quoting romans 3:25-26 . You might also consider How Melchizedek fits in

Amen.
Faith in the living God, repenting and not devoting ones self to paganism.
Sioux City Electric “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Galatians 1:8-9 KJV
@@swtor20 Your comments prove my point. You say Christ is the only way to heaven. That's true. But if "Abraham believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness" (Gen 15:6), why was he not in heaven after he died, but rather on the other side of a gulf watching souls be tormented? even talking to them (Luke 16:19-31) but unable to help them? His FAITH required WORKS (James 2:21) to be complete, as it will again in the Tribulation (see Rev 12:17, 14:12) but yours and mine does not.
@@LuisPerez-fy6up "And I saw another ANGEL fly in the midst of HEAVEN, having the EVERLASTING GOSPEL to PREACH unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (Rev 14:6-7) Notice there is no mention of the new birth, Calvary, Christ, the blood, the death-burial-resurrection, "grace through faith", etc AT ALL!
