      2. Listening to anyone popular on TV as a preacher (TV is filth why would they allow anyone not the same on TV?)
      3. Churches that are 501C3 IRS approved tax exempt businesses chartered by the state. They are a business with the name church in it.

Bible project is wonderful though I happen to see (just) two serious mistakes. (1) It omits that Jesus was actually punished for our sin in that he drank the cup of God’s wrath for us. (2) Tim Mackie also very surprisingly, actually said, very clearly that hell was “created by men” even though Scripture literally taught that it was prepared (initially) for fallen angels. Who else can prepare anything for the fallen angels other than God? Other than those two, I found the BP very helpful & enjoyable for a coherent view of the Big Story. Love it!

I was eating in public once with two people that got in a VEHEMENT discussion about predestination and it got SUPER heated and one threatened to get up and walk out. I just sat there and didn't say anything but was honestly madder than both of them because of how ridiculous it all was. So when we left one of them called me and said "Can you believe him?!" and even though I agreed with the one calling me I said "you're both fools" and they said "WHAT?!" and I said "Go read what Paul told Titus. He said avoid foolish questions and geneaologies and strivings and contentions about the law which are unprofitable and vain". I said that they both made fools of themselves and the Scripture doesn't say he who winneth arguments is wise but he who winneth SOULS. I'm a baptist preacher and very passionate bible lover but as I've aged I've tried to make a concerted effort to never "argue" with people because it's never to any profit as Paul said. God bless you for your honesty and I hope this story from my own experience can help you and I both to keep our eyes on the true prize. If you know you're saying what's right and people reject that then just shake the dust off against them and keep going but never do it for your own glory and God will bless you.

This is what the Lord spoke to Moses, at a time when Moses was caught up into an exceedingly high mountain, and He saw God face to face, and he talked with him, and the Glory of God was upon Moses; therefore Moses could endure his presence. As Christians the biggest problem i see is the guilt the devil uses to bring us down. We read and attend church and we become religious. God uses each of us different. Has us in places we feel we shouldn't be. But once ur relationship is strong with the Lord and you are walking with him and he knows your heart is right. You will see urself around the fallen and in places you think you shouldn't be at first. Look to him and he will show you his plans.

Faith and repentance are really synonymous: there can be no true repentance without faith; and true faith will lead to repentance. ___ Obedience is manifest by faith in the words of the Lord Jesus: "...make disciples of all nations, BAPTIZING them...". Disciple BEGINS at Baptism: and refusing to either baptize or be baptism, therefore, is refusing discipleship! ___ So it is faith that leads to repentance; repentance leads to obedience through the waters of baptism; and these will lead to receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Lord. ___ What? What about those who have received the PROMISE of the Holy Spirit and refuse to be baptized? They are in danger of hearing these words: "Depart from me, you workers of iniquity: I never knew you."

    • @paeng46
      @paeng46 4 года назад

      M Villla
I agree with you that true faith leads to repentance, and that there can be no true repentance without faith. They go along side-by-side. I also agree that obedience is manifested in the faith. That is your faith will bear the fruits and will show result of what kind of faith do you have. But I disagree with you that baptism (water emersion) makes out the discipleship, or discipleship begins at baptism (water emersion) in the context of obedience in the dispensation of the grace of God. Water baptism was given and commanded to the Jews being the subjects of the kingdom. This is to show their acknowledgment of John’s testimony, and thus by receiving the messiah who is to be the king of Israel, the kingdom promised to them, which is said to be at hand (Matthew 3:2; 4:17&10:7) is going to be physically given as a result of their acceptance of their messiah and king, in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Water baptism means public confession and testimony that is being done by the subjects to proclaim their acceptance of the messiah and king. In the dispensation of the grace of God, water baptism is no longer necessary to be administered to a believer. A person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ receives the promised Holy Spirit apart from water emersion. The apostle Paul made it clear that everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ receives the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 1:13-14); hence he said that he didn’t baptized any believers except the two Corinthian Christians in his time. Water baptism then is no more than a public confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, or a means of affiliating oneself to a particular Christian denomination, and not as a requisite to receive the promised Holy Spirit. A believer who believes in the Lord must do his teachings and commandments. This is the proof of his discipleship, not the water emersion; thus the Lord said-“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed”(John 8:31).

I read a chapter of the Bible every day and read it as God's message/ guidance to me for the day. It has been quite effective in directing me to apply what I learned for the day and most of the time I even get the exact advice I needed for a particular circumstance which is awesome and further proves to me that God's Word is alive and exerts power and He really talks to us through it. However, these days, I do find it quite heavy and even berating at times when I read back-to-back scriptures where God condemns the Israelites (just finished the book of Isaiah today) as I tend to apply His words to them to myself. Is this a healthy way of reading the Bible?

    • @cputeq007
      @cputeq007 Год назад

I just now read this -- I think it keeps us honest. We're not to go on living using our freedom in Christ as excuse to sin - we're supposed to recognize God hates sin (read in Numbers where a guy is stoned for picking up sticks on the Sabbath!) and therefore we should learn to hate it in ourselves.
And in one sense, like the man in the synagogue that beat upon his chest and cried to God "have mercy on me, a sinner", we are supposed to bemoan our sin like the Puritans (and any good Christian) would do and like Paul lamented over.
But at the same time, this recognition of how deadly and horrible sin really is should ALSO cause us to exalt God in His goodness for saving us, *even yet* while we were sinners! So while we grow to hate sin more, we grow to also praise and thank God more that He has saved us by His grace.
I love how John MacArthur put it once (paraphrasing) - "People think Christians should grow more joyous as they age. In some sense that's true, but you also come to a clearer understanding of sin. The older I get, the worse I feel." God bless!

Small problem. Telling the truth, is not exalting one's self. Those readinng truth, are offended, and claim, self exaltation. As an example, too many professing Christians, believe Moses, gave the Jews, the ten commandments. They didn't come from Moses, but the voice of God, AND THEY HEARD HIM. Moses only documented the event. Also, the Israelites, (Hebrews), consist of 12 tribes. Only ONE, of those tribes, are Jews, thus disenfranchise of 11 tribes, AND, false, about Jews. It is impossible, for the Sabbath, to be Jewish.

The problem these days is many new believers are coming to GOD on their own terms, especially young generation , who read the Bible with 21st Century rose coloured spectacles, and decide that was written in the past was because of the Culture of the society back then. Thus its not relevant now, So as that generation are dependant on the internet for truth, they see on the likes of you tube new age pastors, churches etc who teach based on that factor too.. Yes they teach that GODS word has to change over time as the culture, society and its morals, ways have changed.. !
They teach GOD is not stagnant with his word, sow e shouldnt be,and adapt it to our society, cultures, morals ect….Thats why we have all these ‘new age’ theologies that twist scripture to suit their own feelings, understandings, ways in Life eg we have Christian ; Feminist, LGBTQ+, Socialist, Red Letter Christianity, along with doctrines of Same sex marriage, Jesus was a feminist, a socialist, A vegan, that Jesus doesnt mind if we sin as he love us as we are as they twist ‘GODS Love’ into something it is not.. So its easy to call those, and say to those christians ,As followers of Jesus, who state rightly , that we are still called are to fight back against deceptive ideas (the devil) that play to disordered desires (the flesh) that are normalized in a sinful society (the world), calling us Pharisees, in the way we talk to them. Especially when Jesus himself in righteous anger spoke harshly to them.
So i would not call it a mistake to challenge these people. They are already getting their ‘ears’ tickled in church, as thats been infiltraited by these people from top to bottom of their church, so to them we are already judged as being unloving, hate filled bigots, christian fundamentalist/extremist etc..

The biggest mistake is to assume that Paul was a real apostle. See Jesuswordsonly.com. There were only 12 apostles, not 13. Paul did not qualify. See Acts 1:16-26. He never knew or talked to the real Yahshua. Paul got his doctrines, like Joseph Smith, from a light and a voice in his head. Paul was not inspired. Peter warned that Paul's writings were nonsensical and would lead others who were not versed in the Torah, into their own destruction. All of 2 Peter is a warning against false teachers, prophets, and false apostles like Paul. Do not add his anti Torah teachings to the Word.

John 5:39-40 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
You Christians are a paradox. You believe Jesus inspired the human authors of the Bible. You also believe he lives in your hearts through faith. So the author of your holy book lives in your heart, but you need to study the Bible. If the author lives inside of you, what purpose is there in your diligent study of scripture? Can you not take your questions to him if he is inside you? Is the author living in your heart a mute? Can he not speak for himself?
    You are deserving of pity.

Secular history reading Divine Allegory can't understand Imagination is the only God in man, judging is classic theology that thinks God is outside. Nothing new under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Taking an even closer look at how God interacted with Joseph and the reaction by his brothers we see that it was God's intention for his brothers to grow in resentment toward him. Not just his father giving him the special coat, but the revelation that God gave Joseph in his dream regarding how his brothers would bow down to him on top of it all.
Clearly we can see God's intention and it played out in how their actions against Joseph played into the sequence of events that went into causing Joseph's life to take the course that it did.
Cleary Joseph saw this in the end and spoke about this to his brothers in the last chapter of Genesis. Joseph spoke of two aspects. One was the evil intensions in his brothers hearts, and also the will of God in everything that happened in order to bring about the events according to God's will.
We also see this in other places in the bible where God brought the Assyrians against the nation of Israel in order to punish them, but then turning around and punishing the Assyrians for the intentions in their hearts against Israel.
We also see this discussed in Romans 9 regarding Jacob and Esau, Pharaoh, and the potter having power over the clay.

These are definitely important. I thank you sir for your imparting of wisdom. I have found in my experience that these are true of us more often than they should be. I would add one more, I believe important, rule to scriptural study. That is the two witness rule. Whenever considering the practical application of lesson learned in the scriptures please remember that we should never act without a second witness. Actually he said "whosoever heareth these SAYINGS OF MINE and DOETH THEM shall be likened unto a man that built his house upon a rock". The context was the end of the sermon on the mount and Jesus was saying HIS WORD is what is to be built upon since he had spent a great portion of the sermon saying "ye have heard it said BUT I SAY UNTO YOU.." Only being obedient to the Word of God can truly allow a man to stand when it's all said and done. Certainly he went on in Mt 16 to describe himself as the Rock and certainly he was the Chief Cornerstone but in the context of the sermon on the mount "the house built on a rock" was the house that was built on "these saying of MINE".

#1. Even if you change your life, how do you know that what you're doing is right, or is God's will? You could always be misinterpreting the Bible, or misinterpreting God's will. The Bible is often vague enough to leave this possibility wide open. The Bible itself confirms that Satan can appear as angel of light.
So HOW DO YOU KNOW that you're right?

    • @cputeq007
      @cputeq007 Год назад

You see it in the fruits of the Spirit or fruits of the flesh. This is often talked about, esp. in the New Testament. A Spirit-filled life yielded to God *will* produce fruits of the Spirit - and a life yielded to the flesh yields the fruit of sin.
So, while yes, there are some more difficult passages that Christians often lovingly (hopefully) debate over, there are *plenty* of Biblical passages that are very clear on how to please God.
That being said - maybe your question is : How do we know the Bible is true and not a ruse of Satan? We might look at all other religions, which all teach some form of works-righteousness system and compare it with Christianity, which teaches salvation by grace through faith, and that not of our own.
So either Satan invented a singular religious book and system that teaches us to praise God, bear with evildoers, repent, and know that we bring nothing for our salvation...or he didn't, and it's God talking to us ;)
Also -- every Christian I think should have a personal testimony -- I used to be very sinful, not following God - lustful, hateful, prideful, arrogant, and disobedient. I'm still that way unfortunately, but way, way less, and I'm learning to love God and follow him - more patient, way less lustful, less prideful, less disobedient -- I still have a long way to go, but one must admit -- those are good qualities to improve upon, yes?

Is it right to follow the teachings of any ONE MAN, or should we expect to be individually taught through the study of the Bible?
The Scriptures answer, "One is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren" (`Matt. 23:8`). We should not follow man, nor manmade creeds or systems.
God exercised the supervising over His consecrated people; as we read, "Now hath God set the members, every one of them, in the Body, as it hath pleased him" (`1 Cor. 12:18`); therefore He advises Christians to come together to assist in building each other up in the most holy faith (`Heb. 10:24,25`). He directs the church to select elders--not Lords, nor Masters, nor Reverends (`1 Tim. 3:3`; `Titus 1:5-9`). These are "overseers" to feed the flock of God (`Acts 21:28`; `1 Pet. 5:1-3`). St. Paul says, "Be ye followers of me, even as I am of Christ." The most faithful have been followers of the Apostle, who followed in the footsteps of Jesus. This is not following man, but following the Divine leadings through the Lord and the Apostles. Similarly today we note God's leadings through His servants. In this we are following Jesus Christ, not man.
Individual study of the Bible seems indispensable to proper Christian development, and is commendable, just as individual study of Geology would be commendable; but one must not ignore the aids to Bible study which God has providentially furnished; to do so would be as unwise as for a pupil in astronomy to ignore the astronomical instruments and findings of others who have preceded him in the study of the same science. "Study to show thyself approved unto God (not unto men); rightly dividing the Word of truth" (`2 Tim. 2:15`).

Your first point repentance; the reader should be changed.....the bible says it is written to the children of God.....It's not for every man it can't be understood nor accepted by the natural man, as they will see it as foolish. Some might think these are the scoffers but in fact the scripture has only one right way of being understood…..the way God wrote it. But there are countless interpretations….Why? How many that read it are in fact natural men? What's more what is it to repent? Every person reading scripture is doing so in hopes of changing something. Buddhists understand they are fallen. I think most people would legitimately say they do not/are not able to live up to their own standard let alone what they imagine God's to be. That however is exactly the problem with most readers of scripture they imagine God….He is a concept they have become convinced (intellectually) of. Religion everywhere of every kind has one focused, to change the behavior of those who follow it. But a man cannot change himself and the bible while being an exceptional book is not God.
Scripture is not how a person is saved nor is it the way by which they are or can be renewed. The apostles asked what hope is there for any man and Yeshua said what is not possible for man is possible for God…..A man reading the scripture and expecting change by that would be equivalent to him reading a book that describes brain surgery and then attempting to perform it on himself.
God didn’t give us His word to save us…..Yeshua saves us and does so by relationship….not my opinion; it is written…..
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from (faith) for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
So then what is the change that comes?
The change is a new nature one that by love like God can no longer sin…..right?
But all men sin and they don’t stop; not Paul, not Yeshua’s mother, not David one after Gods own heart, not Abraham the father of the faithful, not Moses, who never entered the land because of his transgressions….but you say reading scripture will/should do it!
Well the man who makes Yeshua the master of his life will sin far less often and that pleases God….humm is that true?
The man that makes God the master of his own life can as easily remove Him….that man is his own god.
It is impossible to please God except that we walk by faith…..
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
    So what is faith?
For most faith and belief are basically one and the same…if so why two words? Is belief the source and faith the outcome? Most treat it as though that was the case but in fact exactly the opposite is true…..
All who have faith believe, its unavoidable unchangeable, but not all that believe have faith and it is for that reason many that have been raised up to hold a belief in God walk away as soon as they are able.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
In the not so distant future there is to be a great falling away for that to happen the persons falling away must have first been of the church or at least have claimed to be Christian….In reality though they were of a mind that claims works salvation, rather than trusting God.
I get easy believism seems to be an affront to all that the church small c teaches and a man that believes God will save him no matter what is as wrong as one that thinks because he has done good thing he’s saved. Not by works or the lack of them are we saved but by faith alone….
The great question that should be asked and taught is how and where faith comes……
What is it and how do I get some?
If you are convinced faith is believing and you do…. and to prove it do works….(Lordship salvation) then I don’t think anything I could say would/could change your mind.
But scripture says that faith is the outcome of encountering God….
For those who like to quote James; I will remind you that until James saw and spoke to his risen brother he did not believe….
Paul was on his way to arrest Christians when he was turned to a different path by an encounter with God….there is not a single man of whose salvation we are sure that has not encountered God personally….even the thief on the cross….by an act of the God that saves came to see his messiah…. Was he saved; Yeshua said so, and how? Recognizing Him was the difference….not works.
What is it to repent and of what? What is it to sin?
Adam fell because he failed to recognize God….not because he was disobedient….
He was disobedient because he failed to see.
No one who sees God turns away from Him but those who do not see Him do and in doing so sin is made manifest, worked out; but sin took place before the act. It was in the blindness in the man, not seeing God. Faith gives us eyes to see and a mind to understand.
Repent therefore and know God His voice His will.
It is to seek Him with all your heart believing as you are a man that there is something greater. Believing but not yet knowing Him. As a man or woman might know somewhere in the world is my soul mate and not being willing to rest or settle until that one has been found.
What power was it that spoke to them and convinced them not to settle? Why were they so sure the search would pay off?
Maybe they were not sure but only that to settle in their minds was unthinkable….
So too is it with the people that find God….not because He’s hiding but because He is for them the only possible outcome of life. So He gives them eyes that can see and the sight is called faith.

Dear Dr. Plummer, the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures are the inspired words of God.!.. However, the translaters of these words have sometimes mistranslated, most likely so that the words will now match their own belief! This has caused many cases where it would seem that the Bible is contradicting itself ! This is not so. Our advise to all is , when in doubt go to the original scriptures to get a more accurate understanding!..

God knows your heart and your mind even better than you do. Be as patient and honest with Him as you can and continue to ask for guidance and revelation. Consider fasting too, with the purpose of your search in mind.
From my own experience, I was attracted to Christ based on the symbolic or abstract truth of the gospels a number of years ago following an exploration of such truths in other spiritual narratives. It seemed clear that the story of Jesus went far further than others in describing the nature of God Who IS Love and Truth. As a solution to our sinfulness and an explanation for our innate longings it's simply perfect. I believed this without knowing whether the story was literal or not, because I wasn't there and the resurrection seemed so fantastical.
Eventually a series of very clear communications and miraculous signs in my own life and in the lives of others mounted up to demonstrate that not only was God drawing me back like a prodigal son and making it clear that the Old and New Testaments were His Word, but that if He could do what He did in my life then nothing was impossible for Him. On reflection that for Jesus to be a mere allegory would be too empty for The Living God, I could not help committing to believe and as usual I found that in the deepest heart of my soul I had already known.
You will have to experience for yourself though, and God of all beings understands. Do check out inspired works of people who write and video apologetics if you need, including The Bible Project recommended in this video, but read the Bible and pray for discernment and understanding and guidance and revelation.
      God bless.

Faith comes from hearing and reading the word of God. The whole Old Testament points to a coming Messiah- towards one who could fulfill the prophecy and become our Savior- The New Testament is a record of Jesus and His fulfillment of that, and of the establishment of Christ’s church- the body of which Christ is head-
God’s word is truth and truth will withstand a close audit. If you honestly search the scriptures it will lead you to the knowledge of Christ and will help you develop faith in Christ.
Curiosity can lead you to knowledge- knowledge can lead you to faith- faith should lead you to obedience- obedience will allow you entry into the kingdom of heaven (the church)- ultimately your passing will make permanent your relationship with God-
