When you consider, that all the SEALs in Act Of Valor aren't actors. But active duty SEALs. The movie had an extra weight to it. Really enjoyed the insight you provided to this breakdown.

Director Scott Waugh is my uncle… I spent a few days on set while they filmed in FL! Met the SEALS(GREAT GUYS)! They Have a huge live fire range down there and the SWCC boats are super cool, but damn it was so loud!!!! They filmed the nuclear sub scene off FL coast as well! Took the Navy and DOD 3 years to clear everything for filming! Also had to halt filming for 5months when their team got spun up on a real mission! Phenomenal experience… I love our SEALS!!
7:57 When I first saw this scene I thought it was pretty damn cool and kind of a good idea. And then I bought a can for one of my rifles and realized just how incredibly loud it still was. Gotta love Hollywood!

@@frogmantactical True that. But even then I was surprised how loud those can be. I got a silencer ("silencer") for a .45 acp and, she might not make your ears ring but, she'll still get your attention.

You are so right about the nature end of it. A few bow hunting stories, I had a wren land on my arrow, I watched a squirrel run up a sapling and ride it down to ground multiple times at 5 yards away, had raccoons climb up the tree and down the tree within a few feet of me. Also had coyote spot me in my stand from over 100 yards.
Knowing what nature does is the field helps alot when you're out in it.
I went to JOTC Ft Sherman Panama, down there night movements in the triple canopy can be a challenge. Those Howler Monkeys, I still remember them howling and yelling.
I really enjoy listening to your insight and experiences! Could you do a review and feedback of the series SEAL Team? I've snooped around online after watching it and there seems to be a general feedback that it's pretty on point but it'd be great to hear it from someone who's lived it.

So first off, act of valor wasn't Hollywood, it was a small production supported by the navy and its intent was to draw in more hopeful SEAL candidates, hence the cool stuff that isnt legit which is part of why these guys wanted nothing to do with it when they were approached, the producers also dug up a bunch of events that actually happened to seals over time and then just made up a fictitious storyline. Theres a behind the scenes video that i recommend you watch. And also there are some clips in here that are not from act of valor just in case you're not already aware.

Movie title up front, then have all the clips from one movie at a time. I know a lot of us have seen these, but viewers who haven’t won’t have to dig/ask.
And am I the only one thinking it was weird the AOV clips weren’t with suppressed weapons?

20:31 - little correction here- the bog standart RPG used in the middle east is not hte RPG 7 but the older 2 version or the chinese 56
Mainly due to aviability. And their rockets don't have an arming distance, or well it does but it is 5meters when the initial booster sets in.

Nice breakdown, Jason! Thank you for your service. USAF here. Question: In the movie, Zero Dark 30, when the team is searching the house for UBL, one of the team members is saying something that sounds like, “Rarrrrr” or “Grarrrr.” Was he calling out a name or something else?
He was saying “Abrar”. It’s the name of one of UBL’s bodyguards. Abrar was the brother of Abu-Ahmed-al-Kuwati, who was the other bodyguard killed in the compound that night. Along with Abrar’s wife.
