We never had free speech. We have human rights, which are worded in such a way it permits the government to remove and restrict that right. Unless we somehow get Free speech cemented into our own constitution, this is all considered legal and even permissible. That's the terrifying part. We have no say and our institution has no interest in giving us a say.

I lived in Scotland as a kid in the early 1980s, and really enjoyed it. Scots seemed the nicest people I've ever met -- a hell of a lot more polite than the English whenever I visited there. I doubt I could even visit Scotland now.

I lived in Scotland as a kid in the early 1980s, and really enjoyed it. Scots seemed the nicest people I've ever met -- a hell of a lot more polite than the English whenever I visited there. I doubt I could even visit Scotland now.

So depressing. Moving to Scotland has been my plan for a while, but don't know I can move somewhere with a government which is so insane. In my youth, I don't think anyone could have foreseen Scotland becoming the weird dystopia it seems to have become. I assume the SNP vote comes from people who just want independence at any cost, and they they just don't care enough about the weird shit to put them off?
