    Regarding 150 tiles, it's very possible that the tiles are smaller, so let's not draw too many conclusions from that quite yet.

      @dedubsplays...8284  Год назад

      Possible, but unlikely, I think. A tile currently represents a square kilometer, which is a nice round unit of measurement. I'd be surprised if they made a tile represent some arbitrary number of square meters.

    Regarding zoning there are four zone types i CS1, Residential, Industrial, Commercial and Office. I would be really disappointed if they don't make it possible to allow for mixed use developments though considering it's been on everyone's wish list since day 1, and even before that for us veterans. Preferably you should be able to mix and match, commercial with offices, residential with commercial, and even offices with light industry which is not at all uncommon. I also want a way to differentiate between light industry, i.e. non-polluting industry, and heavy industry. Heavy industry needs to be kept separate for obvious reasons, but light industry can be right next to a residential area, or even inside a residential area.

      Superficially, yes, but CS:1 treats the office zoning as high density industrial, and the equivalent achievement states "all 3 zone types." It is possible that they have separated office and industrial this time, but I'm optimistic that mixed use will be a thing this time around. As you say, it's been heavily requested by the community.

    nice video dubs! ;) yep mc sergey definitely will make us have better tools for building roads pretty much certain about this too and also that future parks are going to be like parklife from the beginning on. and yes transport lines. i am really goping for proper roll on roll off ferries, locks and drawbridges. 4 zoning types ok nice... didn't catch that... Good stuff is coming for sure. and yes i think it is also safe to assume that we will have a better map editor and better ingame tools for landscaping. as said good video.

      Thanks Drakkart. Glad you enjoyed it. The possibility of a built in asset editor is one that I'm super excited for. As a console player, that opens up a lot of potential for new assets, especially if they implement a way to share them.

    I've been waiting for you to make this video! ♥
    But man, the music on top of you talking is really distracting. Or the voice audio volume is too low. Either way, I've had to turn my speakers way up to be able to follow along.
    Awesome video! Loved that you freeze framed the interesting parts! Keep up the good work!

    i dont think enough people are talking about the round building around the roundabout, i think it will be better zoning mechanic that will allow for more organic buildings

      @dedubsplays...8284  Год назад

      That's a good point. I did wonder, when I spotted the building with the triangular shaped roof, whether it still had a square footprint. I hope there is more variation in footprint shapes.

      Interesting ideas. It can be tricky to create the seedier side of a city in CS:1 and these kind of ideas would definitely help with that.

    The trailer is confirmed to be made in Unreal engine, but CO confirmed the actual game will be in Unity. There’s no point speculating the graphics from the trailer.

    • @dedubsplays...8284
      @dedubsplays...8284  Год назад +1

      True, but the latest version of unreal is no slouch, and graphics capabilities have come a long way in 8 years. I think it's reasonable to expect cities 2 to step up their game on the graphics front.

    • @szymex22
      @szymex22 Год назад

      @@user-wq9mw2xz3j it is confirmed that Cities 2 will be in Unity: and the trailer is very likely in unreal due to a stock unreal gas station being used in the start of the video

    • @dijikstra8
      @dijikstra8 Год назад +1

      @@szymex22 It turned out that same gas station was for sale for Unity as well though. Porting a 3D model between engines is not all that hard.

    Hey,,, does anyone out there know how to give the Heimlich maneuver…? My pc is choking to death on all this free content we don't really need and could be in the workshop. THE ONES COMING MARCH 22 SHOULD BE JUST ENOUGH TO DO THE JOB... KIND OF THE POINT I THINK THE WAY IT'S GOING.
    MAYBE THEY COULD FIX THE FREAKING AI AND TRAFFIC AND DO ANYTHING AT ALL TO MAKE THE GAME WORK MORE EFFICIENTLY FOR CPU/GPU USAGE FIRST. lol
    We've literally spent 8 years doing more to help, FOR FREE ON OUR OWN TIME, THANKS ALOT, to help diagnose and test their mods and instead of putting that back into cities skylines 1,as a thank-you, they are taking all our hundreds and thousands of hours of unofficial/unpaid testing and using that to build a new game to make themselves richer and fatter... AND IN THE MEANTIME THEY FLOOD OUR GAMES WITH "FREE CONTENT" IN A PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE ATTEMPT TO THUMB THIER NOSES AT US AND RUIN OUR PERFORMANCE FURTHER WITH UNWANTED BLOATWARE ON THE WAY OUT... IT'S GROSS ACTUALLY.
    wow... fully fleshed out rooftops for skyscrapers... That's always the first thing I look for in a city builder... SCORE!

    • @dedubsplays...8284
      @dedubsplays...8284  Год назад

      It will be in the latest version of Unity, so should be better optimised.
      As a console player, I appreciate the free updates and DLC. I don't have access to the workshop so that's the only way I have to get new assets in the game. As for the AI, it's not really all that bad when you learn to work with it. It doesn't behave like real traffic, but it does have predictable behaviour. Once you learn what that behaviour is, it's not too hard to manage it.
