Idk about that. I ride bikes for real and iv never had my rear tire slide out like it was in the first ride of this video. That happens in real life, and your going to high side crash if it snaps back the way it was here. Will definitely make for challenging racing tho vs other real people
Happy to hear the underwater has been reduced from ride 3. Ride 3 was so much less fun than ride 2 for me. In ride 2 I could fly around the tracks and I was really used to the handling model, then ride 3 made all the bikes handle worse basically. It improves other things but the general gameplay was a lot less fun for me. Also in ride 3 it was near impossible to highside any bike other than race prepped 1000’s. The game looks a lot better but I don’t get why they skimp on simple things like a rider height adjuster or riding styles etc. Anyway if the handling is improved decently over 3 I’ll definitely get it. I am very impressed with the sound of the R1 though, sounds much better than previous titles, had more weight to it.
@@Hermelin.G1 I have Ride 1. Its rubbish. Weak sounds and poor handling. The Ducati game from 2016 is much better and the Moto Gp game from the same year also (but the difficulty is too high). I wish ALL game developers would put out free demo's so we could try them because I would not fork out the money on a Milestone game again without trying it first.

I’ve been playing ride 4 for a bit now and the 600s feel fine but the 1000’s revs build really strangely and seem kind of slow for some reason. I’m also struggling a lot to figure out braking and just being quick in general. I’ve always been really quite quick in all recent MotoGP (I was in fact in RRL a year or two ago despite missing many races due to my connection issues and the games too) and ride games but ride 3 was trash imo and this one is better but still weird... it feels a lot slower and looser than I’d like tbh. Either way it’s definitely an improvement over ride 3, but that’s not saying a whole lot in my opinion. My favorite handling game was VR the game, I could absolutely fly on that game, it was easy enough to figure out but still possible to make mistakes. It was all about braking as hard and late as possible and throwing it into the corner figuring out the quickest lines through the corners. In ride 4 I can’t figure out how to brake properly and consistently. Also I usually play with corner lines on which have never been that accurate tbh, I ended up using them as reference points more than actual braking points or lines. In ride 4 I go wide in almost every corner when I try and brake anywhere near the braking point, and I can’t get the bike turned in without crashing and rewinding 10 times often. Also when I try and brake a bit earlier to be smoother I get the AI occasionally just launching themselves into me mid corner. Perhaps I just need to play more but I’m not really enjoying it all that much so far, as soon as I start to get anywhere near my speed from other games I just crash constantly for stupid reasons and I can’t figure it out yet.
Really loving the new Ride 4. It's like if Forza and Grand Turismo had a baby with only 2 wheels - which is no bad thing. It rides a lot like Moto GP, but is not simulation to the point where it is too difficult, like GP Bikes.
It's excellent. It's very different from Ride 3, in a positive way. The problem for now is that it lacks content, but that will be fixed by the upcoming DLCs.
They probably put clutch on Y because if you ride Manual, you need to be able to tuck-in AND shift gears, so having tuck in on LB leaves your right thumb free to change gears with the face buttons. This the control scheme I've used in all motorcycle games that offer manual tuck-in.
I'll bet if I picked this up I wouldn't notice any physics / handling improvements over Ride 3. Still, I did have fun with Ride 3 - quite a bit more than I expected to. And I played it more than I expected to, as well.
What’s up with the back of the bike looking like it’s constantly sliding out or diving into the track? Seems like games still can’t get proper bike physics right.
I started playing 1st person view and it is fun, but difficult. I think it may be easier if the tires stayed in the center instead of the head on the screen. But that may not work for track view... Maybe if the camera split the difference you would make it easier cornering without loosing track visuals.. Do you see my point and understand what I am talking about.. Right as it is when you corner your tires jet off the course IMO.
At least you can play it, Special edition has been taken of the PS store and won’t let us download it, it should of released today at 12 but no... milestone haven’t said anything about it which is infuriating

There used to be a ps4 motogp game where you could powersteer the rear into the corners. It was brilliant. Milestone, unfortunately, can't make the bikes handle nicely (but I've only got ride 1 and motogp 16).
I love how huge the helmet looks at 10:50... Other than that - not sure it's worth £35 for me. Bikes sound as bad as they did in the first game and list of models they have seems to be almost copy pasted from all previous games too. Plenty of variants missing yet they're not bothering with adding them. Will wait for a £10 sale.

Is ride 4 better than the last ride (never played them so can't compare)? And is it better than the current moto gp game? What are the main differences between motogp 20 and ride 4? This game should be 1st person only (cockpit and helmet), 3rd person cam should be some kind of reward that is unlocked after completing a career on the highest difficulty level.

What you mean about the tuck in? Why wouldn’t you want it automatic? There isn’t a button to carry on holding onto the handle bars is there 😂 racers are always tucked in unless under heavy braking.

I wish Milestone would actually ride a bike, then they'd discover that the rear wouldn't swing the arse end out like it does in Ride 1, 2, 3, 4 and Moto GP 19! Its about 25% braking power of the front, and even with HH sintered pads in, brand new fluid with no air in it - you would have to REALLY stamp on the rear lever and hold it, to get the sort of reaction you get in their games. Might bargain bin this, as without a demo, I'm not shelling out to be disappointed yet again. Also, no new 765 Street Triple - really Milestone? The bloody bike has been out for 3 years now, and you're still pushing out the shitty 675?!?

There’s 4 tracks coming only 2 of which I can remember, there will be 2 free tracks which we’ve had in previous ride games and 2 new paid tracks, the 2 I can remember are Ulster GP and Kyalami
0:30 rider has no clear shadow or reflection on a shiny floor. It’s’ these kinda omissions, and generally poor implementation of ambient occlusion that give the Ride series that slightly tacky, low-budged feel that puts me off them. But that’s just my personal opinion - I’m sure others aren’t bothered and love the games.
Agreed, and for me it also doesn't help that bikes always look as if they float over the track. In first person the bike shakes and wiggles but the 3rd person view it's gone
Hi Robo - I think u should have selected Auto Tuckin...In any case Ride 4 will be interesting, based on what I have seen tyre wear could be an issue around some circuits.
All the reviews are moaning about understeer, but you seem to have no issues? Are they just crap at the game? Used to have some cracking battles with you back on Valentino Rossi’s GP game and the earlier MotoGP games, so I know you can play. Cheers for the content.
@Monsieurturmoil totally agree I have done 10 hrs and the only thing keeping me going is waiting to get to the endurance other than that it’s back to MotoGP as it’s no where near as boring the career could of been made more in depth and a bit of story something was needed.
Roboto both the world Suberbike and Endurance leagues are not to be underestimated by all means necessary once which two bikes you're taking into those two leagues be sure they're right for ya when it comes to it especially A.N.N.A
This depends on your ability to drive smooth. Overall its pretty realistic, but most people are not able to control throttle and steering smoothly on a controller.
@@humandroid53 yeah i kinda know what you mean, in the end it must be playable for everybody on a controller and therefore its sure pretty hard to simulate a real bike physics, but at least they try. There are not many 'non arcade feel' bike games :(
This looks like the Forza for motorcycle racing games. All I have played recently is moto gp and I'm looking for something different this looks like it's it!
The AI is all well and nice but it sucks to see the completely unrealistic throttle and brake application. Just ridiculous, that’s why you randomly get divebombed etc as well, because the AI has its own riding style that isn’t really realistic at all.
I know in Forza 7 you have option of manual, and also manual with clutch. The benefit of getting it right with clutch was quicker gearchanges. Not sure if it's the same here...
Special edition includes a Season Pass for all the DLC and early access to the game, standard is just the base game and you have to wait until the 8th to play it
The front end braking, or the sensitivity to trail braking sounds like SBK X and how bad that was on full sim. Sadly I had to drop the physics in GP 20 to normal as I just can't stop the bikes from going ass over tea kettle, normal physics makes it manageable but it's aggravating I have to do it just to make it playable for me. Glad to hear understeer isn't as bad, that's my biggest issue going from GP to Ride 3. Only the R class bikes are even playable. Probably going to wait on this one a bit. I just hope the Aprilia RSV4's are competitive again. They were beasts in Ride 1 and 2 but crap in 3. Haven't seen the whole vid yet, watching you round Mugello so haven't seen if you've shown the bike selection yet. Looked thin when you were choosing the R1 for Mugello, hoping that wasn't the full roster. Looks like over wheelying from a standing start is still an issue.

It's too bad Ride 4 is NOT Xbox One X Enhanced. We bought this $500 console in 2017 only to have it abandoned when XSX came out when the GPU in it is perfectly capable.
I love Ride 4 but one thing i hate about that game is ridng style which is if u compare them to other rider its not that accurate specially if u use racing superbike

I just found out that there is a track in this game that I grew up going to, that alone makes it worth it to buy.
I like the rider animation moving from left to ride on the motorcycle. It’s improved since Ride 1. They need a stamina system for your rider though.

It’s’ these kinda omissions, and generally poor implementation of ambient occlusion that give the Ride series that slightly tacky, low-budged feel that puts me off them. But that’s just my personal opinion - I’m sure others aren’t bothered and love the games.
Agreed, and for me it also doesn't help that bikes always look as if they float over the track. In first person the bike shakes and wiggles but the 3rd person view it's gone

Hi Robo - I think u should have selected Auto Tuckin...In any case Ride 4 will be interesting, based on what I have seen tyre wear could be an issue around some circuits.

All the reviews are moaning about understeer, but you seem to have no issues? Are they just crap at the game? Used to have some cracking battles with you back on Valentino Rossi’s GP game and the earlier MotoGP games, so I know you can play. Cheers for the content.
There is still understeer but not as bad as RIDE 3, stock tyres are worse

Is there a reason when I go to multiplayer I only get 1 bike choice for each cc class? There is no customization or anything in multiplayer..

@Monsieurturmoil totally agree I have done 10 hrs and the only thing keeping me going is waiting to get to the endurance other than that it’s back to MotoGP as it’s no where near as boring the career could of been made more in depth and a bit of story something was needed.
Roboto both the world Suberbike and Endurance leagues are not to be underestimated by all means necessary once which two bikes you're taking into those two leagues be sure they're right for ya when it comes to it especially A.N.N.A
Use the inside ride 4 episodes to your advantage every single one of them.

Why are the bikes so wobbly in games i'll never understand.
This depends on your ability to drive smooth. Overall its pretty realistic, but most people are not able to control throttle and steering smoothly on a controller.

@@humandroid53 yeah i kinda know what you mean, in the end it must be playable for everybody on a controller and therefore its sure pretty hard to simulate a real bike physics, but at least they try. There are not many 'non arcade feel' bike games :(
How do the physics compare to motogp 20?
This looks like the Forza for motorcycle racing games. All I have played recently is moto gp and I'm looking for something different this looks like it's it!
The AI is all well and nice but it sucks to see the completely unrealistic throttle and brake application. Just ridiculous, that’s why you randomly get divebombed etc as well, because the AI has its own riding style that isn’t really realistic at all.

The benefit of getting it right with clutch was quicker gearchanges. Not sure if it's the same here...

Yes you can do endurance online but looks like only 30 laps maximum online

Hi could you tell me the difference between ride 4 special edition and standard edition?
Special edition includes a Season Pass for all the DLC and early access to the game, standard is just the base game and you have to wait until the 8th to play it

The front end braking, or the sensitivity to trail braking sounds like SBK X and how bad that was on full sim. Sadly I had to drop the physics in GP 20 to normal as I just can't stop the bikes from going ass over tea kettle, normal physics makes it manageable but it's aggravating I have to do it just to make it playable for me. Glad to hear understeer isn't as bad, that's my biggest issue going from GP to Ride 3. Only the R class bikes are even playable. Probably going to wait on this one a bit. I just hope the Aprilia RSV4's are competitive again. They were beasts in Ride 1 and 2 but crap in 3. Haven't seen the whole vid yet, watching you round Mugello so haven't seen if you've shown the bike selection yet. Looked thin when you were choosing the R1 for Mugello, hoping that wasn't the full roster.
Looks like over wheelying from a standing start is still an issue.
Finally somebody I can trust to review honestly....hope it feels realistic like MOTOGP20?

It's too bad Ride 4 is NOT Xbox One X Enhanced. We bought this $500 console in 2017 only to have it abandoned when XSX came out when the GPU in it is perfectly capable.

Yeah bike games are generally harder to get to grips with than car games, keep practicing and you will get there 👍
where is the diffrence between 3 and 4 other than maybe newer bikes ?
Physics have been tweaked, sounds have been slightly improved, I will be putting out a comparison video at some point 👍
I love Ride 4 but one thing i hate about that game is ridng style which is if u compare them to other rider its not that accurate specially if u use racing superbike
