MOTOGP20 is so much more fun for me, I absolutely hate the mechanics in Ride 4. Every track seems like im racing on a sidewalk on Ride 4 the scaling is all wrong, and the AI doesnt scale at all they just take you out lol!
2021 now, If only I saw this earlier.. Would definitely save money and buy Ride 4. For those contemplating of buying MotoGP20, simply because of the price drop- Don’t. I just purchased one one of curiosity, I have Gran Turismo latest version and really enjoyed the realism, so I told myself- why not try a motorcycle game? I got attracted with the price and for someone who got used to seeing GT quality, this one will disappoint you. Details, shadow, and CONTROLS, my goodness. Top up to that the sound! Oh no, it sounds like a grass-cutter or speedboat. I hope they did it more bassy boomy big bike sound instead of trebly exhaust. I agree with review above on customisation- The beautiful part in MotoGP is customisation, lots of options in uniform, color, sticker, bike model, character etc. But during gameplay, that’s the downside. And having no 2 player battle disappoints. I bought this hoping I can play with my kids 😂
Great comparison. I’ve always loved bikes and really want a good bike game. However I always find motorbike games lack when it comes to physics in some ways, e.g. when the bike and rider go tumbling, there’s no debris flying everywhere, there’s no dust or sand kicked up when the rider slides in to the kitty litter. It all feels a bit flat and dead to me, which has always taken away from my enjoyment in some way.
Moto GP 20 is the better game for me. I love the choice of bike and tracks in Ride 4 but the handling in Ride is awful. Bikes have no weight to them they loose traction lift the front end too much. Not to mention as soon as you hit a rumble strip it goes off. It’s nothing like riding an actual motorcycle. Moto gp physics are much more realistic. Moto gp physics in rode 4 would be the ultimate game.
The rear steps way out. I tried to give it chance but it became unbearable after a while. I found it comical watching the rear just hang out a wild angle where you'd be highsided instantly in real life. No feel to the bikes just extra power that is hard to apply with the awful physics model.

@@AGardenShed I do ride a bike in real life, I’ve ridden for years. GP bikes are going to feel more different. Breaking points in a real life can be used in ride 4 as well. You are probably playing with all the assists and electronics.

I think Moto GP 20 is a better game. Ride 4 is an amazing project though. Bikes and sounds are the best in the world in terms of quality. Hopefully they will get the physics down in a few updates.
First person is no good even for experienced riders you need to see the bike if you can't feel it like you can in real life the first person looks good though
I think Ride is still missing all his potencial. For example, won't it be a good idea to give your bike(s) maintence? It was necesary on Ride 2, and it'll be awesome to buy fuel or new tyres, chain, brakes after some races (don't know how many laps). Economy doesn't made any sense on Ride 3, and doesn't looks much importante here, in Ride 4. In the other hand, Ride 2 was much harder if you were trying to get a lot of bikes: they all were much expensive. Why non endurance races doesn't consume any fuel? Ok, maybe it's not important to refuel in a street legal race bike, but at last, let ut choose how much fuel we want to load, and let us choose what power level need to use. AW, EB, PWR LVL, TCS, etc... shouldn't be assist, but bike settings, like the rest of your bike setup. Milestone has a lot to lear about races from, for example, F1. Not a full sim car racing, but a game with a lot of good ideas.

Hell yeah it's sick but the AI can be annoying sometimes. Like not braking when im taking him on the inside and he keeps pushing on me until i fall and crashes the whole race... But overall it's a good game with minor bugs! I recommend you to start with Moto3 because its better to learn the game with slower bikes.

So many bikes but a bunch of them are just "endurance" versions of each racing model. Handling needs lots of work. Haven't played Moto GP 20 yet but I'm sure 19 is still ahead of Ride 4, which feels lifeless like the TT games.
I'm a first person gamer regardless of the genre, its the way I like it, but the first person in both of these titles don't deviate from a perfectly upright POV which bugs me because I ride motorcycles and it would be frankly painful to try and keep you head that upright.
I haven't played Motogp 20, but i advise against playing Ride 4. It is too flawed to be enjoyable. The fundamental racing and physics are white-knuckle awesome, but the AI are almost unaware of your existence and often divebomb you, ruining your race. The difficulty scaling is also sloppy. Some races, i'll be way out front and easily win at 120% (max difficulty), and then on the next race i choose, i'll have to lower it to 80% just to have a chance of winning. It's not just my skill either- the AI is slow on some tracks and with certain bikes, and flawless on others. Tire degradation is too extreme, and there is way too much weather variability on short races. I don't want to go from full grip to almost none over a five lap race, but that happens all the time. Oh and maybe the worst part is when you choose how difficult the AI are to beat, you're only changing their ability to accelerate, not corner. In other words, at full difficulty they take every turn nearly perfectly and are just as fast as you on the straights- good. But if you dial it back to 90% difficulty, they will still take every turn nearly perfectly- they just get slower on acceleration and on straight stretches. So if you're not a complete master of a track, you have to turn down the difficulty, but they're still flying by and running into you in the corners. Then you fly by them on the straights. It's miserable. You don't get to have any fun passes, and it leads to a lot of collisions. I've got more gripes, but that last one is about enough to ruin the game by itself.

The amoung of time you spend in that game for literally nothing is incredible, everything is waaaaay overpriced. While in FH4 i can have any car i want within a few hours of playing/selling cars. So when i said you had to grind really really hard in gta to get stuff, i meant REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hard, compared to any other game where it doesn't take as long. If you like gta though, good for you and more power to ya!

@@HarleyBreakoutGuy I suppose that like everything in life, everyone has a perception of things. As I see it at home, for me it is amazing how the bikes look and how detailed they are. in fact I have a GSX-R and it is a carbon copy of my motorcycle, it has even the smallest detail.

to me ride 4 is more of a "gran turismo" for bikes, like a simarcade. MotoGP22 is more of a "assetto corsa competizione" I have both and love both.
