Hi Gary, received an email this morning about me being the "victor" in your recent giveaway. When I reply it directs me to your video. I didn't even know there was a giveaway. I don't remember winning anything in a very long time. Let me know what I need to do. If I am in error, please forgive me. I anxiously await your next engine build video. Best regards, another Gary.
@@swmoboy hey man! Unfortunately there is a FAKE channel, with my logo that comments here and is spamming people. I did not send you an email as I don’t have your email address. There is a super clean giveaway going on but to enter you have to follow the directions that I state in the video.
@@VWJawbreaker Being a suspicious sort, I kind of suspected that. Glad I reached out to you. Thanks for your understanding. Keep up the good work on your videos!
One tip for the double thrust cam bearings, i sand them both together so it sands them evenly. I found that out by getting the thrust good on one half then the other, id torque the case and the cam wouldn't spin
That’s a good point man. However I personally prefer to do them separately to ensure they both are sanded the same and then check with the cam in the case and torqued together. As long as we’re getting the proper results, it’s all good.
That’s great! Definitely use them for reference and there’s other builds in my playlists as well. I can also direct you to other channels that have great content as well.
Good video Gary, always nice when turns putting the case half’s together, looked like the oil pump studs were a little short , looking forward to the next video, try to stay cool and catch you soon 😀😀
Great video, tons of great information. I enjoy your attention to detail and little tips you provide during your process. It helps guys like me who are new to engines immensely.

You’re correct. It didn’t concern me when I was doing the work but the mic really amplified the sound and kinda made me second guess things when I was editing 😂
Oil pumps need mentioning way more often. Like a fool i installed one but didn’t notice I had a 4 rivet cam…. Spun my main bearing after 30 minute run time. Expensive lesson learned

The "grinding" noise at 14:24 is just the oil slinger touching the case while you were spinning the crank. That will stop when you put the pulley on.
Ah yes, you’re right! I went over everything off camera and figured that out later lol
I have a 1914, I put a blower on and I lose my belt. Now i have no compression in 2 and 4 . Do you think that is a motor rebuild or rings on 2 and 4 .
I’d start with a compression check on all 4 and do a leak down check to see what the issue is without pulling the engine apart.
Another great video 👌👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome build series!!!!

What are your thoughts on putting the distributor drive shaft in during assembly to make sure it's oriented properly?
That’s perfectly fine if that’s how you want to do it. I prefer to do it later so the distributor isn’t sticking out when I’m assembling the top end.
