This was the clearest, most helpful explanation on how to add Windows x86_64 to my M2 Mac that I have found. You have given me invaluable help. My only problem was (and this is unique to me) I needed to install Oracle Database Express after this. It requires Windows Pro, not Home. That was the only thing I needed to change. I caught it on my second installation after looking at the Oracle software requirements. Which I should have seen myself. Just being lazy. Thanks again, Nigamelastic!
Hi ! Your video was very helpful, thank you ! Only one problem... at 15:57, it tells me : " This snap-in cannot be used with this edition of Windows 10. To administer user accounts for this computer, use the User Accounts tool located in Control Panel. " I'm not sure if I should follow its steps. I'm running a M1 MacBook Air on OS 12.4.
There's a Reason for Why your Father/God is giving Windows Away for Free. It looks like Windows, however it isn't. It can't run the decades of Enterprise Programmes you've written.
@@jambonavecdubeurre Just letting you know that's probably because that feature is reserved for Windows 10 Pro and you're probably using Windows 10 Home
Can this all be done so the Windows 10 is on a External Drive? i don't have a large internal drive on my Macbook Air. And don't want to use up the space.
instead of installing utm to ur apps install it to an external ssd , also u can right click on your machine, and simply copy it to a different location and then open it with utm. I havent tried it in a while but that should work. github.com/utmapp/UTM/issues/1205#issuecomment-1414153709 here is a discussion on the topic
Well I need this for a very specific program that requires x86_64 windows which doesn’t run natively on the apple arm architecture so I am very happy with this development albeit very, very slow.
Shouldn't I use arm64 version of windows 10 ? x86 is only compatible for Intel Macs right? I can see that you have successfully installed x86 64 on your mac but does it properly? Does it install 3rd party softwares?
Thank you for the excellent video / tutorial! I have been looking for a solution to virtualize Windows Server OS's ( for educational /training purposes ) - have you tried that with UTM? Based on this video I cannot see why it wouldn't work?
I'm about to watch this! My objective is to allow me to share a folder from Windows and have it accessed from my host, and share a folder from my host and have it accessed from Windows, and have port forwarding for MySQL from Windows to my host (though I'm running Docker on my host). This was all working on the Intel setup and I used Vagrant with VirtualBox and it all worked fine. We shall see!!!
Thank you for this very clear explanation Edit: (this has been fixed) ~~When installing windows, the installation rebooted, and now i just get brought into a shell prompt , almost as of windows did not boot~~ Has anyone seen this? Will try to install again....(booting from cd seems to restart the install) Edit: just reinstalled and everything worked great
Man I dont like to be rude but 20 minutes and almost no info. Sorry if I want to emulate/virtualize the chance is that I already know how to run app, how to download ISO etc. But what would be interesting more is info about the emulation and choices you made and why...

*17:07 Does this also disable the spying options from windows with telemetry,.. which we normally have to agree to?
thats a good question, unfortunately, I don't know that for sure
Thanks for sharing but how to upgrade processor to 2GHz because it's too slow
thnx for tutorial man. Been using VBox for years now and am new to UTM so getting stuck in UEFI Shell Hell was a nightmare.
Yeah it is slower but just follow the tut and it should work
Does this support graphics acceleration?
How to increase screen resolution (default 800x600 can not changed in Windows)? Thanks

This helped me. Just download an external app to add new users avoiding built-in exe

its a bit tedious but can be done, i used my external ssd to run it, performance was worse than internal drive but it worked
@@nigamelastic what’s the process of doing that?

Thank you for the video. Amazing work. But how did you figure all of this out. Mind blowing.
CrystalFetch is an easier way to download the iso for Windows.

and some performance numbers. e.g. how well does it run ?
For me it runs bad… it is useful as tech demo but I would not use it for work. But one client of mine use it for accounts and he is happy :)
