hey yall just a heads up nothing will work unless you select your audio interface in your mpc itself by going: Menu button - preferances - audio device - choose your interface :)
Hi, thanks for this tutorial. I've done everything the same but the issue I have is the drums (track) won't play with the audio track like in your example? When I use the internal audio it works but when I use the focusrite 6i6 the track audio is muted?? Any ideas?
@d.e.m.p.s.e.y hi, thanks for quick reply. Pretty sure no. I think the workaround might be to listen via 6i6 headphone jack vs the mpc one? (Can't try until the weekend left soundcard at my gfs)
@@d.e.m.p.s.e.y man!! You just don’t know! I am new to the Mpc and I am itching to put down so many ideas 💡 but I’m baby stepping. Helpful people such as yourself have been helping me solve the Mpc a step at a time . I will be sure to follow! Thanks again.
The MPC will power the interface (assuming it is similar to what I am using (Scarlet etc) via the USB plug into the back of the MPC. So you should be able to just power the MPC, then USB to interface, then XLR cord to Mic and you're good to go!
Very usefull information, and by the way i like the fact you started with cables connection mess. Thats what im expecting from a synth tuto and how i would do it. ❤❤
@@d.e.m.p.s.e.y I got an MPC not a long time ago and not being an expert , i know that making things working together (in and out) can be tricky sometimes, so we appreciate you guys doing videos to help. I ll probably try to do my share once i feel more confident with those. :)
@d.e.m.p.s.e.y any thoughts on why my audio recordings automatically write over any midi I have recorded? Likewise when I record a second audio track - that also writes over the first audio track I recorded. Appreciate your time 👏
While the MPC is pretty powerful, you may run into issues like that where the audio file is tied to the sequence, I haven't seen the recording audio impact the midi tracks though. I would try to keep to one audio file/recording per sequence and then use a DAW like protools to do the heavier lifting if the track is heavy. I'd have to see how it was setup for you though because you should be able to just create multiple audio tracks on each sequence but it could be getting buggy if there are too many files on a particular sequence, not sure unfortunately!
@@d.e.m.p.s.e.y appreciate your time replying!. unfortunately it doesnt seem to be a case of too many files. im only trying to learn how to use audio recordings at this stage in my mpc learning. so for instance, i record one bar of kick drums in midi, and then switch to audio and hit a few notes on my guitar and it wipes the midi. same goes if i start with just a few notes of guitar in an audio track, and then add another audio track> hit record> the first track disapears and im left with only the most recent audio recording, im at a loss of where to to go for help. ive read the manual and the mpc bible, any tips on where to get help?
@@adamjohnedwards hmm that is odd, the only thing I can think of is that you're saving to the internal drive and there is a conflict in file location/writing, I would try to start a new project, save it to a new external SD card, and once the project has a fresh start saving to an external location, see if that works. May take a bit to sort this one out, hopefully that works though!
Here I recorded, for example, a vocal track. What should I do with him next? Attach to the pad and draw a note in piano roll? I just really can't figure it out if I have, for example, a lot of sequences assembled into a track, how do I hang one solid track of vocals on them all? Or just cut it and tie it to the pads? 🤷😮
Does anyone know? Can you use USB B of Key 37 to *output* the L/R audio of a sequence? Asking as my mixer (a Yamaha MG10XU) has a USB B 2input/2output that allows for monitoring signal while NOT sending that monitored signal to the stereo out (i.e. this allows monitoring MPC tracks while laying down vocals, guitar, bass etc thru mixer into MPC).
How do you records vocals on top of over 13 sequences that are part of a full length song? I get what you do but that only applies to one sequence and for whatever length the bars loop are for but if I attempt to record vocals due to my structure of 13 sequence im unable to layer vocals on across those 13 sequences. Is there away to get this done? Im I making sense?
i haven't recorded into it yet but try making the full beat in song mode then convert that to a sequence. then you could record into that new sequence from song mode. i dont think you could record into multiple sequences at once. atleast to my knowledge or experiance
That really comes down to the audio interface you use and your mic, The MPC also has plenty of plug-in effects for reverb, compressor, etc in the air plugins section. But as far as the clarity of vocals processed within the MPC I found that it has pretty high fidelity!
I want to do the opposite: import an original audio recording (got that part), chop it up and variously stomp on it, and add midi stuff inside the MPC on top of that or interspersed with it. Someone has to be doing it this way to do remixes, with or without stems, but I am not finding any guidance on process in the MPC One for this approach.
I would use an external device to play the audio file and sample the whole file into the MPC, but alternatively, you can put an SD card into the MPC with the file on it and import the file into a new sequence 🤙
@@mahanhaamin1170 this should really be a single instrument application if I'm gathering your question, one track at a time into the MPC. However you could use a mixer to bring in multiple inputs into one input on the MPC, But that's going to be still one track in the MPC that you can't really edit the different instruments within. So for this application at least what I am describing in the video it's best to do just one at a time
You're welcome I like how you show all the plugs, what they do and you do it step by step and explain why it won't work and this only works. @@d.e.m.p.s.e.y
