What you say shall be right. In his own narration he gives evidence by telling that Muslims donated land for this temple. Hence Church replaced the temple. Nayanmars mentioned this temple. He himself stated that. So may be for some compulsion he speaks a language WHICH APPEARS AS so called SECULAR.

Sriram sir there are two types of evidence. Agree there is no direct evidence. But by looking at all the corroborating evidence the result points out to Portuguese destroying Kapali temple. Let me list.
1. Why should Kapali Kalam be given as a lease to sheas for muharram. Think the then Hindus didn’t have the temple to worship and were willing to do anything to practice their religion.
2. Look at what the Portuguese did in goa and other places so highly likely that they could have done the same.
3. Like you said the bottom of current San thome church.
Lot more I can write to corroborate the evidence though not direct evidence.
You can only speculate with ifs and but, so keep enjoying your corroborative thought process.

Sriram ji, please read Dharampal’s great work “ The Beautiful Tree” to get as to how the education was imparted to all castes in then Madras Presidency. This was documented by British officials and report sent to British Government. You are selective and biased as your views based on certain section of society.

Ayya, You say that The Britishers did nothing good to our country. What all they did were for their own well fare! This is quite wrong. They did countless social reforms and gave education to all. You can’t say that they started schools for Indian people just to assist them in their official purpose. In those days only the upper class people can get education and I’ll treated the lower class people as their labourers. The British laid the foundation of Railways, Postal, Judiciary and paved the way for us to live better. Of course they ruled over us! They laid the foundation in all angles to live better. So after when we got Independance, our great leaders built our country on many of the British foundations!
