    You say once a month for mainteance but how many days do you supply it in the water? I usually change the water every three days. Would that be fine - once a month for a three-day period? And thank you for the great video!

      For Finches, 3 continuous days once per month. Give in the morning when fresh water is provided, then change it late afternoon for fresh plain water with no ACV in it. Repeat that process for 3 days.
      Thank you for your kind words. Glad you liked the vid 😁

    I use Apple Cider vinegar daily in my Finches water as it reduces the Ph of my water (I live in a hard water area). Presumably finches drink mainly rain water in the wild which is Ph neutral. It doesn't seem to do any harm so it seems reasonable to use for preventative mainternance. Not sure about its effectiveness for specific health conditions though.

    Dave off topic from this good advice with ACV which was well presented. my off topic question is what do you use in your flights ie on your walls are they artificial plantation? I just like the look of them and wondered where you got them from? been a while you still doing video's hope all well.

      Hi m8. Yes, I'm currently finishing up a teaching course so its been a bit consuming & not had time for much else 🥴
      Yes, artificial plants. A mixture of silk ones & plastic ones. Think I got them all from Swell Reptiles 🙂

    Is it ok to use apple cider vinegar while using other vitamins with food?

    • @FinchManDave
      @FinchManDave  Год назад +3

      If you mean adding it to water that already has a vitamin supplement in, I would avoid it. My suggestions are solely based on using this with just clean water.
      If you mean vitamins on food, & acv in the water - then from my personal experience, that has never caused any issues

    I have 8 zebra finches, all have been treated with s76. 6 of them are 2 parents and there 4 chicks and two new birds in a separate cage. All fed egg food seed and veggies regularly. Avigold advance in water couple times a week flourish and guardian Angel sprinkled over fresh veggies before serving. I have noticed one of my birds has passed through an undigested seed today and droppings are slightly orange could be from the peppers they had just once Iv seen this. Apart from that they are all active eating and drinking. Should I be worried will ACV help this ?

    • @FinchManDave
      @FinchManDave  7 дней назад

      @@Birdmann217 bacterial infections can cause the passing of undigested seed, amongst other ailments - but I'd certainly target that to begin with only if it's regular though? Has this only happened once or more than once? If only once, it could just be that loose seed has ended up mixed in with poop like it's been transported by foot or something. If it's one seed, that's probably the case so what I'd suggest is checking all poop over the next few days. If it's happening more than once, I'd use 5ml of acv in 250ml of water for 5 days continuously. Put it in the water first thing in the morning, then remove that water around 3-4pm and replace with fresh water only. Repeat that for 5 days. In the meantime, get yourself a pro-biotic supplement to give to the birds after this 5 day course. That's needed to re-instate the gut flora balance.
      I must stress though - only use this advice if the seed in poop continues. Otherwise, it's not needed 🙂
      Please update me if you will

      @@FinchManDave yesterday when I first noticed the droppings all the birds were perched then I heard a dropping sounded like a seed fell so I got up and had a look there was one de shelled seed in the dropping also yesterday the droppings were abit orange but that could be due to peppers they had in their veggies, but today the droppings are normal and no orange. I did give them acv today at the ratio you recommended and I ordered a probiotic which has come today so should I do another day or two of acv or go straight to the probiotic?

    • @FinchManDave
      @FinchManDave  7 дней назад

      @@Birdmann217 ok, I'd give acv tomorrow & the day after too but only 2.5ml to 250ml of water, then repeat it every month on the same 3 days. Make it a monthly maintenance course. Only 2.5ml though. No need for probiotic as it's only a low dose so not enough to mess with their gut flora.
      Doesn't sound to me like a problem if it's just a one off, but still check their poop daily anyway, as that can usually be the first sign of issues.
      The orange will probably be from the veg. Mine poop green a lot but that's the veg or perle morbide - & mine are all perfectly healthy

    Hi Dave,
    Does we need any Breeder License for Finches.? or have any Limitations about count of Birds to keep & breed them or to Rehome Chick's in UK.?
    Please let me know, Thanks 🤝

    • @FinchManDave

      Hi
      As far as I know, not for pet birds providing they aren't native or wild caught. Regardless, every breeder should be following the correct ethics either way
