You found 2 sea beans. The first you correctly identified as a sea coconut. The second is a box fruit still in its encasement. Box fruit are a rare and prized find. Winter is sea bean season here on the FL east coast and every year there is a sea bean symposium in Brevard County. The Space Coast (Satellite Beach) and Treasure Coast (Hutchinson Island) are wonderful for shelling, glassing and beaning. Love your videos!
I found a really cool hamburger bean the last time I was on the East Coast. I thought it was super since I have never found any. We get nickernuts sometimes but that current bring you folks on the East Coast much different treasures. Thank you so much for the box fruit ID!
Ever go to Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs? Been there a few times, years ago. May see some gopher turtles. Nice shelling as always. Not a prettier sound than the waves!
It’s so great watching the shelling. The sounds of the waves are so relaxing. We are looking forward to our trip. Thanks again for taking us along. Stay safe.
I always love the good information that I get from watching you. The lightening and shark facts are great. Thank you. Always enjoy looking for great shells on Sundays?
I love just about every beach there is but the SWF beaches hold a special place in my heart. The wild (east) side of our country is beautiful but the gulf is so calming and inviting. Thanks for taking us all along once again to get a feel for what each side of Florida has to offer. Awesome finds and the shark was cool to see too! ...just swimming along, doing their shark-ee thing.
I recently met up with a bunch of other shellers and quite a few of us really enjoy the wildlife encounters as much as we do finding the shells. I'm glad I can report my shark sighting was quite safe and I did manage to bring home a few shells I don't normally find 😃
Lightning is amazing and you do have to take care. When I was 8 years old I boldly went out dancing in the rain when all of a sudden I was three feet in the air with a lightning bolt between my arms. Time stood still while I looked into it. I even had time to check my friends who had run to a porch . They all had their mouths open in amazement. Haha. A lady I worked with years later had a horrible encounter coming out of Sunday school and sitting on the steps while a storm went by. Her friend was struck right beside her and burned to death on the spot. She was terrified of even the sound and had to be sedated if a storm started. You never know what will happen. Stay safe!
What stories - oh my goodness! You are quite lucky to be able to tell your story and I'm sorry for your lady friend who is now traumatized by lightning. Poor thing. I definitely take great care in the summer months with storms around. Lightning is fun to watch, but from a nice, safe distance.
@@SWFBeachLife they say lightning never strikes in the same place twice, but it can strike the same person more than that, my Dad had been hit by lightning 3 times in his life, I was witness to two of them.
At 6:56...more than candy this shell color reminds of a Starbucks' cappuccino, the foam and latte with coffee. And by the way at 16:38...that little birdy is a Mourning Dove, they're very curious birdies.
When we lived in NJ we befriended a ring-neck dove. We named him Dave. We could put seed in a solo cup and shake it and he's come down to eat out of our hands.
Nice to see you visit the Atlantic coast again Sharmon! Nice change. As much as I prefer shelling S.W. Florida, I also enjoy shelling OBX, and other east coast locations. It offers a different experience then the Gulf coast. I I enjoy the sunrises, so much more than the sunsets! Even though it is not the best time of the year for it....I will be trying my luck in the Emerald Isle, and Shackleford banks areas on vacation in two weeks. Hoping for some different experiences than my last few trips to sw florida. I always hope to find some nice cowries, and larger conch shells when on the Atlantic coast. Happy shelling! Thank you for the wonderful content.
There is something to be said about change. While it wasn't my most spectacular shelling day, I still had a great time and it was nice experiencing something different. And I don't think I would have seen a shark over here on the West Coast! I hope you have good luck on your vacation. I have yet to find a whole cowrie!
Oh my gosh! My beach! I wish you had come just a couple months ago. I was having great luck. You asked about the olives and yes they were so huge and perfectly intact and I was finding tons of bittersweets. It has slowed though. We haven’t had any big storms and the seaweed moved in. I think April to June is good for us over here but the scotch bonnets haven’t come yet. When they do, they are everywhere! Thank you so much for this video tho to remind me what’s right in my back yard. I’ve lived here most of my life. My Dad’s shell collection is amazing just from Hobe Sound down to West Palm. 🤗🐚🐚🐚🐚
Please tell me when the scotch bonnets arrive! I may have to take a quick trip over to see. I haven't been to too many East Coast beaches and I was only at Home sound for a short while but that beach and Coral Cove Park were pretty awesome. I think my next trip East will be to the Jupiter area ☺️
I love love love the spectral bitter sweets you found!!! They are absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for taking us along with you to this beautiful beach.
Love this beach. I usually take a net and do a random grab and sort when shelling in the water in that area. So much fun! Thanks for another great video!
Hmmm it’s that naughty old Atlantic Ocean, bit temperamental but still beautiful. I love the shells that get discoloured by the minerals in the sand. And I feel totally the same about sharks. Nature is pretty awesome. Stay safe x
You are so very welcome! I'm glad you were able to spend a nice chunk of time down here hunting for treasures. I have some shell cleaning vids too if you need help with getting your treasures cleaned up! ☺️
I just got back from my vacation in Florida and pretty much spent 95% of my time on Sanibel and Fort Meyers beach looking for shells! I happen to stun a couple of Florida residents about my vast "knowledge" of Florida shells but then told them I only learned it from my Florida shelling lady! Yes, I refer to you as my Florida shelling lady! 🤣 I did not get half the shells you usually get & resorted to buying the ones I was really after. But, I admit the shells I found myself are much more meaningful! The thrill of finding your own treasures is so addicting! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge & info! You are the best sheller on youtube!
There is definitely something to be said about finding your own treasures. Isn't the hunt so much fun? The shells are a bit "slow" this time of year but I'm glad you got to experience the hunt for yourself AND managed to get a few souvenirs! Thanks so much for watching and I'm thrilled you were able to put your knowledge to work!
Love your videos. I remember being at this State Park many years ago. I was walking along a boardwalk trail when I happened to look down and noticed the ground seemed to be undulating. It seems there were thousands of crabs scurrying in all directions, making the ground look like it was moving. It’s a beautiful place. Glad I got to see it again, thanks to you and this video.
I love this video Sharmon! I am from PA and actually I am quite curious about seeing John D MacArthur Park and Singer Island. Apparently there is some good snorkeling in the area; snorkeling is also one of my favorite things to do. I will put it on my to do list. I wondered if having a scooper would be great to snag some of those bittersweet shells in the water. Thank you for telling us about the statistics and . yes it so important to stay safe from lightening. Thank you again!
I should have brought my scooper for sure. And I really need to get my hands on a dive flag. I have a tough time snorkeling in the gentle waves over on the West Coast, I can't imagine what it's like to snorkel over there! I will definitely bring my scoop next time and some other viewers have been kind enough to share some other East Coast locations they recommend. I'll be back that way at some point for sure!
Loved the East Coast Beach today, it’s what I’m used to with my many trips to my Grandparents house in Melbourne. I remember going to Sebastian Inlet and finding huge conch like shells in the water where the waves break. It was grab while you can! Loved seeing the shark in its natural habitat. Thanks for taking me along on your trip! ❤️
What a wonderful memory - finding huge conch shells in the water. It's TOUGH shelling on the Atlantic side! I already appreciated where I live but getting a reminder every now and then is a good thing 😃 I think the shark was my favorite sighting of the week!
Hi! I can't wait to see what you find here! I love to see what you find on this side of FL today! ( : I adore all the beautiful shells on the Gulf side! I hope they have pretty shells on this side too! ( : Spectral bittersweet! Never saw this shell before! Sooo simple, but pretty! ( : Yay a turkey wing! I didn't expect you to find that here! And another beautiful caramel colored bittersweet clam and a slipper shell! ( : Yayyyyyyy! ( : Ooh, the ponderosa arc is awesome! A lightning whelk too! Is the little piece of the second shell a turbo? I love the shells with holes in them too! ( : Nice. You found the darker spectral bittersweet! Nice! ( : Wow, a thorny oyster! Sooo beautiful! A giant bittersweet too! You are doing some quick grabs and getting good stuff and a lettered oliver too? ( : Ohhhh...the striped bittersweet shells are beautiful! ( : You did a great grab some great ones! ( : Good garbage hauling at the beach too today! Great job! ( : Enjoyed this trip. But love the Gulf shells much better! ( :
I have to agree with you - I do prefer the Gulf shells, but it's nice to see a different beach and collect different goodies once in a while. Plus it's a good reminder of how awesome the SWFL beaches are! Thanks so much for watching! 🙏🏼
Breaks my heart about the sharks ! This past spring my husband and I were able to go to North Carolina and also Florida for our two week vacation first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf! Amazing trip for sure! Both oceans gorgeous and absolutely 💯 completely different attitudes 😂 Thank you for yet another awesome video!
We went to the Florida Keys in 2016 for a family vacation and that's when we decided to move to Florida. It had that much of an impact on us. That's wonderful you were able to able to experience both the Atlantic and the Gulf. They definitely both have different attitudes! 🌊
@@SWFBeachLife I live in Montana, born and raised but the Ocean captured my heart the very first visit to the Pacific several years ago. The Pacific is beautiful but OMG Gulf and the Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking to say the least! if there is ever an opportunity to move it will be Florida hands down! Most beautiful State I have ever seen!
I've been wanting to try making some sort of wind chimes with shells - just haven't gotten around to it. It seems the ideas are easy - it's the execution part I have trouble with! Thank you for coming to the beach with me!
Ugh not much luck… maybe next time (if there is one) Juno… not summer cuz it’s crowded. Perfect opportunity to teach other things like the lightning app and statistics between lightning and sharks! Informative video for sure!! I do love what I call the sunburst shells… they are pretty! I so wish u found a scotch Bonnet :( that would have made it worth the trip! Next east coast trip.. Juno pier… after a storm on a weekday.. bring the dog (if u have one) and look for Bonnie’s and shark teeth. East coast fan!!!! Monica
I've added Juno to my list of places to check out on the East Coast. I've been to the Jupiter area and I'd like to try that again. I was hoping to score at least one bonnie, but at least I got to see a shark! There were a few other beaches that people recommended so I'm compiling a list. I might need to go over there for a few days to check out the beaches I'd like to see ☺️
You went to blowing rocks and John MacArthur. Juno is literally right there. U could go to loggerhead marine life center area and have that to put in ur video if it’s a bust day. I would love for u to make a video up north, Navarre where beach bummin dad goes a lot. I know …time and money!!! Just putting it out there. I’m living on the wrong coast for sure.
@@monicaeaton8860 I do want to go up to the panhandle area but I'm going to hit the Keys first. Then maybe this winter I can do the Tampa area and then maybe the Panhandle. Florida is a big state!
Definitely some great scores!! Loved that one oyster shell you got (that coloring)🤩. I know you're always on the hunt for cool shells. My friend went to Singer Beach on the East coast. He found 4 intact Lion's paws. Wanted to let you know as you explore all over and sometimes the East coast😉. Love watching the new and old videos as always😁.
I live by the motto “when it roars, go indoors” because I’ve known for decades that lightning can strike 10 miles away from the storm. However, these days I have a couple weather related apps on my phone too. Love all those Bittersweets and my favorite shell, the humble Auger, made an appearance as well. Beautiful park , beautiful beach, beautiful video…see you next week.
Getting chased off the beach due to the storm was the perfect time to talk about the dangers of lightning, and compare it to the dangers of sharks. Too bad there's no shark apps 😅
Wow! Nothing like having the place to yourself! The striped spectrals are nice. Great info on lightning ⚡. There was a couple killed the other day when 4 people were struck by lightning near the Whitehouse. That thorny is such a pretty color! Nice little haul, girl! Thanks, Sharmon!xxoo
I heard about the people in Washington DC. What a crazy unfortunate accident. I would NOT want to be outside exposed to a storm with lightning. Someone else mentioned they use the lightning app for golfing 😃 I was hoping for a scotch bonnet or two but at least I got to see a shark!
I know you're all about the shells, but all that seaweed floating around makes me think there is some really interesting snorkeling to be found there. I love when you're able to show the living animal that makes the shells, I often wonder about the "source" and imagine this fantastical forest just offshore with layers of life
I'm hesitant to get into the water in snorkel in places I'm not as familiar with and with that surf and the rocks I probably would need a snorkel buddy ☺️ I bet those grasses are full of life! Believe me I'd love to see it!!
@@SWFBeachLife Good point, I've had to stay out of the some interesting spots because I was 1. unfamiliar with the area and 2. didn't have a snorkel buddy, a shame but we are being safe! Cheers
Glad you were safr... darn.. hoped for a pocket full of bonnies... but the spectutal bittersweers were cool too! Thank you for taking us to the other coast of florida!!
Thank you SO much for all of your shark facts. I have been a shark lover since i was a little girl. There are so many misconceptions about them. I love to hear those rooting for protection of them ❤🦈
TY for another beautiful video. As a resident of the east coast, however, I feel I ought to apologize for the lack of shells (on this particular day, anyway)! I was hoping you would find bonnets and leafy jewel boxes and queen helmets, of course! Thank goodness you are a good surf scooper!
Oh I'll be back. I just might wait until after a good storm next time 😃 I got a bunch of other good East Coast shelling tips so hopefully next time I'll find a couple of those more exotic treasures. At least I got to see a shark!
The selfie statistic kind of cracked me up, but really--getting people to wise-up about the risks they take is a great idea! It's just those little things in life that people don't think about. AAA talks about "fender-bender" accidents and how they're usually associated with backing, right? So I got in the habit long ago of backing into my parking spot, to reduce the need to back out into the street. Anyway, I do like those spectral bittersweets! Thanks for taking us along!
Getting a parking tip is one thing I did not expect to find in my comments but you are 100% right! An once of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure! Thanks so much for coming to the beach with me!
Thanks for another great video. Tried this park when we were in Marco island last Feb. beautiful beach. Shelling not quite what I expected but did find some scotch bonnets which I was excited about.
That's awesome! This beach gave me 5 bonnets the last time I visited but my timing was off this time. At least I got to see the shark 😃 I'll be back. Hopefully there will be better shells next time!
East coast Florida is definitely different from west coast. About the only time I shelled from the water in 20+ years was when calmer than normal. Thanks Sharmon!
You might enjoy seeing the sea coconut once it’s been sanded down! They actually are stunning underneath the “skin”. Great to see you on the East Coast! Happy shelling!
Greetings, Sharmon! Oh, the bittersweets are so sweet. It's interesting to see how different the water is on both Florida's sides. How great is technology to alert you of lightening. Always tuned in for next week. C
I have learned so much from your videos love how you explain everything, my favorite thing to do is looking for seashells & rocks enjoy My largest shell was in the water had to drive for it ❤
That is my experience when I go shelling here in North Carolina. The surf is rough and you have to be quick. Most of what washes up, are pieces or pretty beat up shells. Love your videos, always learn something. Going to the Gulf is on my bucket list.
The Atlantic is SO much different than our gentle gulf shores! That being said the current over there does bring up some nice Caribbean shells sometimes. It just wasn't my day today for the shells. At least I got to see a shark!
I have a shark story for you. Many years ago I took my friend snorkeling for her first time at Ocean Reef Park on Singer Is. There were people parasailing above us and Chris said they seemed to be pointing down. I said "oh they are just waving" and I waved back. A little while later a man came out on a sea doo and asked "do you realize that there are sharks all around you?" Of course I had no idea. I told my petrified friend that we must not panic and swim quietly back to shore. We made it no problem, but Chris never snorkeled again. I later learned that the sharks migrate biannually along that coast. I almost croaked when I saw photos on TV! So thankful that we made it back safely.
Yeah, that would have scared the @#$#@ out of me too! So you accidentally went swimming with sharks and got to tell the tale! The fins I see on this coast are always attached to a dolphin. I'm quite glad you ended up safe and I'll be thinking about those sharks should I ever choose to snorkel on the East Coast!
Hi there ... I shell here on the East coast and you need a scooper. The beach shore is rough. I was a little further south 2 weekends ago and found my first huge Shark Eye and Bonnet. I will be going to the West coast in December. Love all your shelling information.
I definitely should have brought my scooper. I won't make that mistake again. I will try the East Coast again - I just might try to time it after a storm to try to help my chances of finding the shells!
We live on the East Coast near Stuart, and yes shelling is hit or miss here. Not like the West coast where there are many shells to choose from. We have had the best luck at the Stuart sandbar at low tide. We have found lots of Florida fighting conchs, shiney olive shells, shark eyes, large crown conchs, a rooster conch, baby queen conch, beautiful gaudy nauticas, and a 6 inch flame auger. 😊
We stayed in Stuart and visited Hobe Sound and Coral Cove Park and found some pretty decent goodies. It's just nice seeing different shells - especially this time of year. I think I'm going to try post-storm, low-tide next time if I can. And I did make a note to try the sandbar if I'm ever up that way!
Unfortunately the only whole shells we usually find on the east coast are clams. I moved to FL 4 months ago and have been avidly shelling. I rarely find any whole shell except the clams. I do find lots of calico scallops, which are my favorite. I did get to go to honeymoon island twice. The first time I had great luck, the second, not at all. I'm dying to go to Sanibel island. It's a 4.5 hour drive for me. It's nice to see you shell on the east coast even though I know it has to be boring compared to what you are used to : )
I actually like a good change once in a while so even though I didn't find any bonnets, seeing the shark was neat and at least I got a few colorful bittersweets. If you like the calico scallops you have to go to Sanibel. They definitely have the best ones. I hear you on the drive!! 6 hours in one day is a bit much. Maybe one of these days you can make a weekend out of it. It's truly a beautiful island!
Nice beach out there but not too much different shells. At least you found shells that you hardly find on your west coast side. Glad you got that lightning app to get alerted. Some people in Washington got hit by lightning and they were in a park. Was on the news. Best to be safe, good app to have. Interesting info on the sharks.
Yes, the shells and beaches are so very different just a few hours away. I was glad to see some that I don't normally get to find. And I had heard about those poor unfortunately people in Washington DC. That was quite unexpected I would imagine but it goes to show that lightning is quite dangerous. Seeing that shark was so great!
I was afraid the weather would keep you from having a podcast today! I am here on Marco for one week! Shelling is slim, although I have found a few good ones.
I love the bittersweets. I see a lot of them at Porpoise Point in St. Augustine. Wasn’t sure what they are called. Looks like you had a pretty good catch of them. Im looking forward to visiting your side soon. Will I still be able to find shells in August and September? I downloaded the tide app that you mentioned a few weeks ago. Im going to download the lightning app too. We often see the same weather on hot days up here while we’re at the beach. This past weekend found some really pretty olives, but they were still alive. Which beach do you recommend in Sanibel/Captiva for shelling this time of the year? Thanks! I look forward to your videos every Sunday.
I think this time of year the shelling is slow all over. It's the case down here right now - a little on the slow side. Sure, there are some shells out there but nothing like our fall/winter beaches. I still think Bowman's on Sanibel is a great place to explore or Turner Beach (very limited parking) on Captiva. I do not like the cold, but I am kind of looking forward to the shelling this winter!
Have you ever been to Sanibel Island in Florida? This beach is known for there sea shells. If you go out early in the morning is the best time to find the different sea shells.
I've been there hundreds of times. Its usually where I'm shelling but I decided to try the other coast for a change. I definitely find more shells in southwest Florida!
22:08 and the shells in your hand appear to be a face and resemble Renaissance Art of fruit faces or similar to a Jim Henson face design only made of shells. -Thank you - this is Excellent.
I tried adding a photo but can't. I made an adorable wind chime out of bittersweets I collected. It makes the sweetest sound when the air vent is on. PS: I love your videos!
I keep most of my shells in glass jars, vases and lanterns. I showed my collection in a past video: ruclips.net/video/Afy0jl0smpE/видео.html Then, I put some shells to the side to sell and others to do projects with. I've managed to complete 2 projects thus far. A shell mirror: ruclips.net/video/Mf5SVm8m5n8/видео.html And a shell photo frame: ruclips.net/video/h9UIvqlOzgM/видео.html I have lots of ideas I just need to find more time! I do not believe that was a shrimp boat off shore - I think it was too big for that. Not sure what kind it was. And seeing that shark was so awesome! Especially since it was from a very safe viewing distance!
Hello Sharmon, I was thinking of you earlier. I've just gotten a great book on Florida shells, including where they may be found and lots of information and great photos. It's the first edition of "Florida's Seashells, a Beachcomber's Guide" by Blair and Dawn Witherington. Amazon has the Second Edition available for less than ten dollars. You had said you wanted a book that talked only about shells in Florida and this one seems to be quite thorough. Thought I'd mention it in case you're interested. Ooh, I remember what I was told about lightning on the very first day I worked at Gulf Islands National Seashore, on Santa Rosa Island, off Pensacola...NEVER be the tallest thing on the beach if there's a storm nearby! Boom!
That book is my seashell bible! I've had the second edition for almost 5 years now but didn't really start using the book until I moved here. It's got all sorts of great info in there! It's helped me ID shells, birds, seeds, crabs - it's my go-to shell book! I hope the news continues to be good by you!! ❤️
Thank you for the information! Also thank you the cleaning of the beach. I was at Coco Beach in late spring and that is all I did. I found drugs pills and needles and also stuff for protection and where they cleaned themselves up but couldn’t be bothered to put that stuff in the trash bin 3ft away. I’m a metal detectorist and what ever was in the pills came up on detector.
Well that's just gross! I guess we can't expect anything from people who don't even care about themselves. Thank you for cleaning up. I figure every little bit helps 🙏🏼 I hope you did manage to find some treasures amongst the trash!
Love the video, very relaxing and brought back many memories for sure as I was born in Pensacola. And then as an adult I lived in Boca Raton. Very different for sure. Now I'm in Cali very close to Moro Bay and oh how I love these beaches. I'm wondering though, what do you do with all your great finds? Do you make things with them? I'm sure by now you have alot right? Can't wait to find out. Thank you for your video, loved it. ✌️
When I first started collecting I kept EVERYTHING. Then I started switching out some shells for ones that were in better condition. Then I started only keeping shells in great condition. I've brought buckets of shells back to the beach to "recycle" them. I sell a bunch of the shells I collect and I've managed to make 2 projects thus far. A shell mirror: ruclips.net/video/Mf5SVm8m5n8/видео.html and a shell photo frame: ruclips.net/video/h9UIvqlOzgM/видео.html I have lots of ideas I just need to find more time! I honeymooned in San Diego and we took a trip to LaJolla to see the underground cave in a shell shop. I can't remember the name but it was wicked awesome and we got to see some seals too!
@@SWFBeachLife Thanks my friend. It's so great when you get a reply. It means alot and I thank you for getting back to me. I watch 7 of your videos last night and I felt almost as if I where there. I could almost smell that wonderful ocean too. Thanks again.✌️
YAY IT'S FINALLY SUNDAY!! EXCITED FOR CHURCH AND TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD....AND SWF BEACH LIFE TO HEAR ABOUT GOD'S CREATURES AND HIS BEAUTIFUL NATURE!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FRIEND!! ❤ 🐚
The shark I saw on this day was only the 2nd shark I've seen the entire time I've been out on the beach in almost 3 years. Granted I'm normally on the West Coast, but I was actually really psyched I got to see one! Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
Your welcome! Me and my mom want to head down to sanibel island one day. I really want to find my favorite shell (lighting welk) and a few pieces of sea glass and sand dollars. This year on vacation I found a gient peice of sea glass! We also found a few sardines. The beach is fun and the critters there a a wonderful sight to see! I love sharks! My favorite is the hammerhead shark.
I laughed out loud. I have a Sea Coconut, however I picked it up last year in NC thinking it was part of a golf ball. The Atlantic is fun because it is like a sport. Grab as the waves go out 😀
@@SWFBeachLife when I take my scoop to NC, if the waves aren’t calm enough they grab my scoop. I do a lot of running and following the beat of the waves. Where I go the Labrador current meets the Gulf Stream so depending on which side I am on depends on which way I shell. Haha the shark was very cool. You do a terrific job
I love your beach videos , especially when you give us beach time. It is greatly appreciated. I relax to your vids and Jonah's from Australia. His almost always have the surf sounds in the background. I have one suggestion for you regarding eastcoast/ westcoast.. I lived in Orlando for awhile so I'm familiar with both coasts. My suggestion is instead of calling them east or west how about calling them Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico?? I for one wouldn't have to work on it so much. Thanks, just an idea.🥰🥰🥰
Well thank you for the suggestion! I happen to do research on the titles to try and pick ones that match with my other content. I'd like as man people as possible to find my videos! That being said, I will "try" Atlantic next time and see how that goes. Thank you for the suggestion!
Those bittersweets will look good in a bowl for thanksgiving/halloween. Sorry no bonnets. Was really sad to hear about Island Cow!! A great walk! Have a good week. See you Sunday. XOXO
I told ya be careful of sharks LOL! They are over there, but I think your a bit further south than where the attacks have been. Did you see the little baby's foot print next to the digging under the piles of seaweed, soo cute all by its self. Looks like some type of cowery?.. it had that opening with the ridges, the other one was from the looks of it a top snail. ya think? Im thinking you need to go further north for the brighter colored bittersweets, thats what Im thinking and the scotch bonnets are further up too, I think.😋
I was hoping for some colorful East Coast shells but I did manage to find a few goodies and seeing that shark from a very safe distance was pretty awesome. I don't know what those mystery bits are but I did keep them just in case I see it again in the future and can figure it out then ☺️ Thanks for coming along Robin!

I always love the good information that I get from watching you. The lightening and shark facts are great. Thank you. Always enjoy looking for great shells on Sundays?
Thank you so much for coming along with me!
@@pamelafox5882 That is insane!!! We know someone that was hit twice. I hope your Dad is okay!
@@SWFBeachLife amazing!
Love that oyster shell. Beautiful color!
Love watching you. Always so informative and fun. I learned a lot from you. Keep them coming. Love love love the beach time
Thank you so much for watching and coming to the beach with me!
@@SWFBeachLife I definitely will let you know! 🤗
Thanks for the heads up on the lightening tracker! Downloaded it to my phone. A big thanks! Love your videos.
You're so very welcome! It comes in handy down here all the time!
Thanks for the tri to the beach. I grew up going to the Atlantic side, but, oh! How I love the west coast. The Gulf is my favorite.
My trips to the beach were always on the Atlantic too until I moved here. I do have to say, I like the Gulf a lot more!
I love love love the spectral bitter sweets you found!!! They are absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for taking us along with you to this beautiful beach.
You are so welcome! Thanks for choosing to spend your time with me!
Love this beach. I usually take a net and do a random grab and sort when shelling in the water in that area. So much fun! Thanks for another great video!
I should have brought my scoop for sure. It was fun none-the-less and I was super happy I got to see a shark!
Hmmm it’s that naughty old Atlantic Ocean, bit temperamental but still beautiful. I love the shells that get discoloured by the minerals in the sand. And I feel totally the same about sharks. Nature is pretty awesome. Stay safe x
Today was my last day in Florida, I can’t wait to come back again during shelling season. Thank you for all the tips and helpful information.
It's a neat park. I can imagine kayaking with the creatures would be pretty fun too. Thanks so much for watching!
@@SWFBeachLife awesome well I look forward to all of your videos. Thank you for your reply!
Hi. I especially loved the pretty oyster you found. Thanks for the info on lightning and sharks. So cool to see a shark.
Hi! I can't wait to see what you find here! I love to see what you find on this side of FL today! ( : I adore all the beautiful shells on the Gulf side! I hope they have pretty shells on this side too! ( :
Spectral bittersweet! Never saw this shell before! Sooo simple, but pretty! ( : Yay a turkey wing! I didn't expect you to find that here! Wow, a thorny oyster! Sooo beautiful! A giant bittersweet too! You are doing some quick grabs and getting good stuff and a lettered oliver too? ( :
Ohhhh...the striped bittersweet shells are beautiful! ( : You did a great grab some great ones! ( :
Good garbage hauling at the beach too today!
@@saraclark4944 Just you wait. I am going to visit the Florida Keys in a few weeks. It's absolutely stunning.
The shells with the holes are perfect for wind chimes. I love those and add some driftwood to mine. Thank you for taking us with you 😎
I've been wanting to try making some sort of wind chimes with shells - just haven't gotten around to it.

Oh wow - 4 Lion Paws in one day? I have not seen one of those in a while. Maybe this winter my luck will change. Thank you so much for watching!
@@SWFBeachLife yes it was 4 all in the same day. Of course I had to tell you about it and where it was😉
I live by the motto “when it roars, go indoors” because I’ve known for decades that lightning can strike 10 miles away from the storm.
@@SWFBeachLife 😂
Thank you for this east coast adventure! I just love following you wherever you decide to shell! ❤️🐚
Aww - thank you so much!
Cheers

Thank you SO much for all of your shark facts. I have been a shark lover since i was a little girl. There are so many misconceptions about them. I love to hear those rooting for protection of them ❤🦈
All day, everyday! We need them to keep our oceans in check. That stupid Jaws movie!
You made again a great collection with all this shells you find. ..I love them all..❤👍🙏🍀👋have a nice week
Thank you so much! I hope you have a good week too!
Very cool! When I decide to take an A1A trip, MacArthur is my number one place to go! 🥰
It's simply beautiful!
I think The best part of the video is beach time it’s clamming and it makes me feel like am there.:)
I love the bittersweet’s also. They remind me of that ribbon candy available when I was a child!
I just saw a box of that candy not too long ago!
FL East Coast! ♥️♥️♥️
Great video as always. Absolutely love that large Bittersweet you pulled from the water!
It was a lot of driving for a few shells but seeing that shark was pretty awesome! Thanks for watching!

Probably a good time saver to only go when the surf is calm 😅 I did get to add a few bittersweet to my collection and at least I got to see a shark!
You might enjoy seeing the sea coconut once it’s been sanded down! They actually are stunning underneath the “skin”. Great to see you on the East Coast! Happy shelling!
I didn't know that! I do have it and maybe I'll see if I can get to the skin part without wrecking it. Thank you so much for letting me know!
Greetings, Sharmon!
Oh, the bittersweets are so sweet.
It's interesting to see how different the water is on both Florida's sides.
How great is technology to alert you of lightening.
Always tuned in for next week.

You’re back in my neck of the woods; welcome!
Yes, we DO find lettered olives with their pointy tops!
They must be treasures when they are found! That surf is unbelievable. I can't believe anything survives!
I have learned so much from your videos love how you explain everything, my favorite thing to do is looking for seashells & rocks enjoy
My largest shell was in the water had to drive for it ❤
That is my experience when I go shelling here in North Carolina.
I downloaded your lightning app and love it for my golfing!
That's a fantastic idea!
Thank you for information on sharks. I didn’t know how important they were. I enjoyed the walk on the beach!
Thanks so much for watching!
Great information today 👍🏻
Glad you liked it 😃
Unfortunately the only whole shells we usually find on the east coast are clams.
Summer is TOUGH to find those shells! Try low tide - that usually helps!
:0! Really awesome shells and video! Like the commentary 👍👍👍
The Atlantic Ocean is beautiful, but I love the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida❣️
Me too ☺️🌴🌊🐚
Love the video, have a great week!
Thank you! You too!
Lots of attitude in the waves today!
LOL! Or a Picasso! Thanks so much for watching! 🙏🏼

Especially since it was from a very safe viewing distance!
Really enjoying watching your videos, and you can’t beat beach time. 👍🏼😊❤️

Wow thanks for taking us
Hello Sharmon, I was thinking of you earlier.
😂🤣😂 "... tallest thing on the beach." Yep! I was wondering, out of those lightening deaths how many were on a golf course.
Really beautiful video. Thank you
Thank you for the information!

When I first started collecting I kept EVERYTHING. Then I started switching out some shells for ones that were in better condition. Then I started only keeping shells in great condition. I've brought buckets of shells back to the beach to "recycle" them.

Loved the trip and those bittersweets enjoyed your trip and the beach in spite of the storms
It was nice seeing a different coast and I was really happy I got to see that shark!
I laughed out loud. I have a Sea Coconut, however I picked it up last year in NC thinking it was part of a golf ball. The Atlantic is fun because it is like a sport. Grab as the waves go out 😀
Oh it's a sport all right. I imagine I would have had better luck if I had brought my scoop. Well at least I got to see a shark!
Very informative! Thanks so much
You are so welcome!
Another great beach video!!
Thank you for watching!
Last time I was in Hawaii we did a beach cleanup on Kamilo (aka Garbage) beach. We were there for 6 hours and removed 2500# of plastic and netting.
WOW! That's amazing!! Thank you so much for being a beach angel! 🙏🏼
Those bittersweets will look good in a bowl for thanksgiving/halloween. Sorry no bonnets. Was really sad to hear about Island Cow!! A great walk! Have a good week. See you Sunday. XOXO
I hadn't heard about Island Cow! Hopefully they can rebuilt even better in time for season! XOXOX
Nice video, good to see different places, liked the shark especially
That pretty much sums it up for me too!
Thank you! Your awesome! 😎
Hey my favorite fellow seashell hunter!
Hello beach friend!
Thanks for championing sharks!
They get such a bad rap. Darn you Jaws!!
Thank you wants again for a lovely beach walk I believe sharks are misunderstood they get a reputation
Yes I agree!
Hi, I know I told you once that I was going to be buying a house in Fort Myers, but I actually bought one in Cocoa FL, my closing is scheduled August 25th, maybe I'll see you on the beach somewhere 😜 I plan on shelling all over Florida.
Congratulations on your new home! I want to go to Cocoa Beach to see a launch one of these days. You never know - we very well may cross paths one day!
@@SWFBeachLife I know you don't know me, but once I get settled, you could spend the night if needed. I don't know anyone down there but my little sister and a few RUclipsrs I've met, that have become Friends.
I'm a disabled veteran and the main reason I bought the house was to be close to the beach and to an amazing cruise port 😊
@@pamelafox5882 Thank you so much for the invite! And more importantly - thank you for your service 🇺🇸🇺🇸 I hope your new location exceeds your expectations and it's better than perfect for you!
@@SWFBeachLife I got the Clear to Close today 👍🏻
You should try Juno sometimes just feet of shells layered up
I was there yesterday. I did not get piles of shells, but Juno gave me exactly what I was looking for!
Nice video! Like the stats!!
