- Finding sea shells on an island is one of my favorite beach trips, but it's work kayaking out there! I had to see if finding sea shells this time of year was going to match what I find in the winter and I have to say - so far so good. We shall see what the summer brings!

When you live inland like I do, the beach is a rare treat, you don’t have the luxury to be a shell snob. You take what’s available. I shell vicariously through your videos and I love your trips to Kice Island because it is so generous with its treasures!
Kice is SO generous and I've never been disappointed visiting there - and it's a good thing too since it's quite a bit of work to get there! However each time I have a heavy shell bag and a light heart. Thanks so much for coming to the beach with me!
Counting down the days until I go to Sanibel😆😆😆 8 more days until epic shell hunting!!!!
Yay!!! I hope you have a great shelling luck!
Wow. I would be like a kid in a candy shop. If I was there I would have to shuffle those shells beds to see what's under there. Shells make me so happy. We all have favorites.
I think they're ALL my favorites 😅
Thank you, as always, for taking us to the beach. It was a lovely trip! I love the tulips, cones, moon snails, turkey wings, etc. I’m no shell snob! I even love the broken ones. God often makes beauty in brokenness! See you next Sunday!☀️🏝🐚🐬💕
Thank you for the fabulous beach time today. I needed a few minutes of beauty! I’m going to attribute all the purple shells in your broadcast today to my daughter Jennifer. Today was her birthday, she would have been 33. This made a tough day a little more bearable❤️. Thanks for the tag along💜💜
💜💜💜
I am in always in awe at how nature designs and colours shells so beautifully, I can’t draw a straight line, but the lines and marking on the shells are flawless, very nice videos, love the relaxing beach time every Sunday night, thank you
It is truly amazing the beauty that is created by nature. I'll never stop being amazed either ☺️ Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Love the variety of colorful moon snails!!! How peaceful to have a place to yourself!!!
It's the best having a whole island of shells to myself!
What a haul! So many varieties of beautiful shells. I'm so glad you aren't a "shell snob". I love your descriptions and explanations on the shells, critters, tides and the list goes on:)
Aww - thank you! And thank you for choosing to spend some of your time with me at the beach!
Ohhhh Kice, Kice Baby!!! The best ever 😁😁😁😁👍
Kice truly is a special place to go shell hunting. It ALWAYS seems to have the goodies! 🐚
Grateful for my SWF Sunday shelling escapades! Thank you, Kice Island has fabulous treasures. ❤️
Absolutely love watching you get these wonderful shells! Love learning with you as you take us along your adventures 🐚🐚🤩🙌🌊☀️☀️
Thank you so much for watching!
"...and a Kice time was had by all!" 🏝🌺🐙😎❤ Thank you so much! I love starting my week SWF Beach Life! ("Kice, Kice baby!")
They should have just named the island "Nice Island" since it's always so good to me! Thank you so much for coming along with me Karen!
Good for you, keep doing what you love. It’s not about what other people think anyway, as long as it makes you happy. Love the videos, has given me many ideas of bucket list islands to shell ! One gals rookie, is another gals treasure. ❤️
One gals rookie is another gals treasure - BRILLIANT! Thank you for such a kind comment! ❤️❤️
Thank you for the shelling loveliness and beautiful "Beach Time"💖
Nature nerds unite! 😂🙌🏻
❤️
Fantastic shelling day ! Love those smaller Tulips for my craft projects. And Murexes ! Great haul ! Thanks for sharing your trip to Kice !!
Thanks so much for watching Nancy!
Love this island and will be visiting it in Feb, I'm so excited about our shelling trip and watching you is inspirational, thank you so much for sharing and taking us with you every week!!
You are so very welcome! Thank you for choosing to spend some of your time at the beach with me!
When I was younger I used to go to Atlantic City and find very tiny shells and do designs under glass with tweezers and set the shells with dried flowers. It always brings me back to those days when I watch you!
I had the pleasure of meeting some ladies of the Bonita Spring Shell Club - they're specialties are making things with shells. I was absolutely amazed at how creative some people can be with some of these shells. Especially the tiny ones! Thank you so much for watching!
No shell snob here either, I can never, ever pass up an Auger and they are pretty common. I'm always excited to find other great shells and I have a few standouts, but those Augers are all over my house, lol. By the way, I love this week's haul, what a fabulous variety.
I like those augers too! Plus they don't take up much room. I have a little dish of just augers and I'm not sure if I'll ever do anything with them but I keep picking them up 😅
@@SWFBeachLife Ah, I have a little dish that contains my small collection of baby Horse Conchs, it reminds me of fall and candy corn. But my Augers are displayed in spice jars and votive cups scattered around the house. I did really start collecting them because they were so easy to get home, but now I’m a little addicted to them. I love a good Banded Tulip too! I bet beach karma made it the only shell that guy found for awhile, lol.
Lots of good shells to collect. I did not know there were different types of Angel wing shells. Love the bright purple scallop. Fantastic hinged spiny jewel box! All great shell finds, common or not, I think they are all beautiful as well. Every bit of garbage removed from the beach does help. Good job. 👍
I love that little island! Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Another beautiful day with lovely finds. Never disappointing…always something to find. Such a great place..thanks for taking us friend 💕
Thank you for coming to the beach with me Janet!
Ohhh myyyyy …. What a haul !
Great day at the beach. I did spot 4 Wentel Traps. I love pretty much all shells. Thanks for sharing.
I have been waiting all week for this.
Very nice shells I love all of them! The shells are so colorful today I LOVE THEM ALL, so very nice. Thank you so much! I love what you do for us! I'll keep watching a
I really look foward to your Sunday videos. I really enjoy all of your videos. I have watched them multiple times.
Thank you so much!
Watching your channel has inspired me to visit Marco Island. I am renting a beach wheelchair so my 98 year old mother can enjoy with me and my daughter will join me. Thank you, Sharmon, for sharing your adventures and your critter finds.
I LOVE THIS! My mother passed away before we could move her down here and I was all ready to push her around on a beach wheelchair for her to the enjoy beach as well. I hope you have an extra-special time while you're here and you find lots of souvenirs to bring home! ❤️
Since the rented wheelchair is not allowed to be transported, I will mostly be limited to Marco Island. I may try to schedule 1 excursion, since my daughter will need to stay with my mother. If you could choose only 1 island/beach (no kayak), which would you suggest?
@@junebarnhouse1482 Since I only know Marco from the 2 places you can park, Tigertail (the beach is VERY far from the parking lot) and the South lot, I would say the south end of Marco. There is a sidewalk and boardwalk almost all the way to the beach from the parking lot and then its a straight shot to the water. It's hit or miss as far as the shells, but it should be the easiest beach to visit with a wheelchair down there that I'm aware of.
Look at all the scallop flats on the beginning shell piles. And kitten paws. My favorites. So glad to see your good from the flooding and storms and out hunting again. ❤️❤️
They made that storm sound a whole lot worse than it actually was but I'll be sharing what the beach had in store next week!
Haha. Of course they did. I was thinking every time, wow, another big shell just rolled up on the beach. ❤️❤️.
Two of my favorite shells are the turkey wing and the auger. Both are pretty common, but I rarely pass one up. I don't think banded tulips are rookie shells at all. Maybe the Florida fighting conch could be called that because there are so many, but I never pass up one of those if it is in good condition. I came home with quite a few of them and love each and every one of them!
I was thinking the same thing....if there was a rookie shell it would be a FFC but I absolutely love them. The only thing I'd change about them is I would make them lighter so I could carry more 😅
Another beautiful beach walk, super variety of shells too. Thank you for taking us x
Nice find. Beautiful shells
Oh-so beautiful treasures today! And I'm with you...I love the tulips! They're all beautiful and the hunt is so stinkin' fun...Lol!
The hunt is THE BEST! Thanks for coming to the beach with me!
Kice Kice baby never disappoints. Awesome island, seriously, just move there 😂stay safe x
I'll have a helicopter drop off a tiny home for me and I'm all set! 😂
That purple scallop was such a beautiful colour 💜. I have always thought that shelling was to collect the ones you find beautiful, not to worry if they are common or not 😊
Definitely! There seems to be something to appreciate about every single one!
Happy Sunday and happy hunting ur not a shell nerd I love learning Frm you about the different shells I so wish I still lived in north port fl
Shelling looks so exciting but I live in Canada and we don’t have anything like this here. I just starting watching your videos and I’ve learned quite a bit already. I love seashells.
We get lots of Canadian visitors, especially in the winter - probably to escape the cold and find a few shells 🌴🌊🐚 Thank you so much for watching my beach adventure!
The variety....Awesome!💕
Thank you so much for watching!
You should put a little newspaper or bubble wrap in your container for 'delicates' so they won't bang against each other.
Great idea! Most of the shells are pretty sturdy and survive no problem - it's the sand dollars that tend to break.
Until next week I can’t wait to see what you found such amazing treasures you found in this video today thank you again.🐚🐚
Your videos are a treat for this Illinois girl😊 we left sanibel last Saturday and I'm already missing it. Your videos are what keep my heart happy between visits and broaden my shell knowledge, so thank you for that! You do a wonderful job
Thank you so much! I hope you had a fabulous time while you were here and you found lots of souvenirs to remember your trip by!
Great video as always! BTW being a shell nerd is what makes your videos so interesting. 😉 Love to see when you find a new bucket list shell. My favorite is calico scallop - love anything purple. Also love how gentle you are with the creatures. 👍❤️
Aww - I don't know what everyone else likes to see so I try to pick up a variety. And leafing through the shells books really is a great way to see new shells to hunt for. Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Glad you kept the paper fig.
It must drive you crazy when you when you see something you missed. I saw a couple beautiful wentletraps I thought you would pick up. It takes me forever to watch your vlogs. I’m constantly pausing and shelling with you. Haha. Thank you for that.
It DOES drive me mad when I find out there was something I missed, however the little shell that looks like a wentletrap is a flyspeck cerith. I would have been bummed to have missed yet another one of those!
I love the colorful moon snails. So beautiful!
Such a great variety of shells & a gorgeous day!!!
😊
I can't believe how many murex shells you found! Them and the nutmegs are my favorite. I think I gravitate towards the heavier type shells. It seems you always find interesting shells when you go to this island. Thanks again for taking us with you!!!!
This island does indeed seem to have some terrific shells each time I go. As much as I wish I could go all the time, I'm glad it's out of the way and you have to get there by boat. Makes it a bit more special.
I didn't think shells were rated as rookies or what not but I think that your genuine appreciation for shells is what makes your channel so addictive to me. It could be a common shell, seen 200 times and it would still fascinate me how an animal could make such a beautiful thing! I appreciate your videos so much!
Isn't it amazing that snails make these gorgeous shells? And they're like snow flakes - each one different than the next so it really does feel like there is something special to appreciate with each one. Thank you so very much for choosing to come to the beach with me!
So many beautiful shells! Nutmegs are so awesome! I LOVE SUNDAYS! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for watching!
Another lovely day of shelling!
Awesome finds as always!
We get to visit Florida in the winter months, which is a bonus for a sheller. Personally I love all shells, but my favorites are the moon snails, acorns and whelks. No two are the same. Shell snobs? Got no time for them. People should pick up whatever makes them happy no matter how common. Always look forward to your videos. Keep them coming!
I'm with you - I love all shells. There is no way I could pick just one favorite. And the hunt is really the best part. I love seeing what's going to be out there to discover! Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Being a Rocky Mountain girl, I will take any shells I can get! I have a dream of making a small display of black jingles, black scallops, and any discolored shell that is gray to black, ponderous arcs with the black beach stuff, and a smattering of rose pink tellins. I like your trips to Kice as I find the tree textures with the periwinkles, and the bare trees against the sky, to be fascinating.
I have a little collection of the darker discolored shells all together! The black jingles are so pretty - actually they all are and I love the varied colors they all come in. The wood on this island is gorgeous! Some of it worn smooth by the waves and wind. I wish everyone could visit this island just once. Thank you for coming to the beach with me!
So cool! Ty!
Right before beach time. You reached for the apple. The same tulip to your left.
Love your videos! I wait every Sunday anticipating your video drop!! ❤️🐚😊
Shell snob! LOL Sometimes a person wants a lots of a common shell for a project. I pick up what I like! Nice trip to Kice Island!
As you should! You won't find me judging anyone's shell collection or favorites!
Great finds. Thanks for the fun. 🐚
Great haul! Great video! Thanks!!
Sharmon,I would like to tell you that I really enjoy your videos. I received some bad news last week and when Sunday came along and I watched your video, you lifted my spirits, thank you.
I'm so glad I can lift your sprits! I can only take so much credit though - these beaches and island down here are so fun to visit. I hope everything turns out okay. Sending hugs from FL! 🌴
Such a great adventure. I look forward to your videos every Sunday.
Love your video's! Nice haul. Def. Not a shell snob here either.
Wonderful trip! I am so enjoying being with you on your shelling trips. Thank you.
Beautiful finds today! Love seeing the true tulips!
So cool to see the new ones and lots of varieties.
Awesome shell finds! Beautiful day as well!
Awesome thank you
I love your videos, the black and white whole clam shell is absolutely gorgeous, it’s my favorite. There’s something special about all black or black and white shells it’s unexpected to find them. Thank you for sharing your time and making the videos. Thank you
That black stuff (periostracum) will eventually wear off the shell, so it was neat to find one with the black AND still hinged. There's so many fun things to admire about these sea shells. Thank you so much for visiting the beach with me!
Absolutely beautiful shells. 😊👏🌻🐕🥰
wow, very nice shelling! Thankyou
Nice haul really enjoy our weekly adventure thanks again
Another great day at the beach 🏝
Interesting, you find again a lot of wonderful, coloured, shells, I love them all. I love the colours, even when it's not white, God create them for their differency, send them after past away, that they make people happy by colect them..🙏👍🤩❤🖐🍀
Creating and growing a shell collection is fun, but hunting for those beauties is definitely the best part. Thanks so much for watching!
Love your videos - I absolutely love virtual shelling with you and can't wait until I actually get to get the sand between my toes!! Keep on shelling!
Happy Sunday and happy hunting
I love the lightning welks so much ❤❤
I don't love in Florida nor have ever been there but from watching your video. I LOVE the lace and apple Murex and the spiny jewel box
What a great day!
This is a wonderful haul. This is a beautiful place. Can’t wait to get back. I still have some shells just sitting on my dining table to look at and trying to decide how to display them. It brings back such great memories. Thanks for sharing.
You are so very welcome! I am very lucky that I inherited some fabulous glass vases and we have great thrift stores down here. I love displaying the shells in glass jars, vases and towers. Thank you so much for watching!
Nice video. Thanks for cleaning up the beach.
This is so relaxing. I wish I could be there!
GreT video. Wish I could go back again this year, but going to Myrtle in SC.
Thank you for making your videos!
Thank you so much for watching!
My “rookie shell” weakness are cockles. So heavy but I just love them.
They are starting to grow on me! The beautiful interiors along with the pretty speckled outside are quite lovely. And they make great little bowls to hold the tiny shells in!
Way cool haul.
Thanks for the wonderful video! It's great to see your channel growing! 😊🤎
Thank you so much! It sure takes a long time but it's so fulfilling and so much fun! 🙏🏼
Loved this and I really needed a trip to the beach! Thank you! ❤️🐚
You are so welcome!
Great shelling! I look forward to your videos every Sunday. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for coming to the beach with me!
I was on Kice all day yesterday! It is honestly a little slice of heaven! My favorite finds are the Gaudi Nautica!
Good to know they are still showing up! I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Kice Island.... one day... Gorgeous FC! Beautiful gaudies. I love the very white inside of the complete PA. Have one on display. AWESOME SJ!! Those top snails are bigger there. That was a really beautiful TT!! One BT after another... Yep, you found both dosinias! We have quite a few of the ED's up here. I can't believe you found several TT's!!! Awesome! That one FFC that had the white stripes around the whorls was really cool I have to admit.😊 Thanks for a great video, Sharmon! xxoo
And I'm wondering if I've seen the elegant dosinias before and just thought they were the disc variety. Well - now I know better! The variety of shells down there is just stunning. I hope I can find a rain-free day this summer to go back! ❤️❤️❤️
I kind of love when the shells have barnacles. I think it’s cute
Love your shelling!
Thank you!!
So meaning to check in and make sure you are doing ok with the crazy weather... this weeks adventure is once again stellar.. or stellar as the case truly is.. you found so many awesome shells and another new cockle for me to admire from afar.. I just cant get over the awesome treasures!
Kice is pretty spectacular and has been kind to me every time I've visited. I hope I can still get out there this summer to see what's it like that time of the year!
Thank you for a very lovely time shelling.
Thank you too!
i like your content , keep posting
Thank you!
You always make my day when I can go shelling with you. Love you so much Shell Sister. Love Terri Simmers.💖💙🌸🌺🐌🐚
Thank you for coming to the beach with me shell sister Terri!!! 🌴🌊🐚❤️
So many treasures! I love when you show the large shell beds. I pause the video and look around at the extraordinary variety of shells. The are so many types I've never seen before. Have you found shark's teeth too?
Thank you so much for taking the time to film and share your videos.
Thank you so much! I had to travel up to Venice to find shark's teeth. It was a while ago, but we were indeed successful! ruclips.net/video/p4x7GyKyBjg/видео.html
Great finds for sure!! Always love going on the adventures with you 🏖️. I never heard of seashell snobs 😂. Glad you're not one of them. Love learning about the shells and all the different types. Keep up the great work
Thanks so much for choosing to spend your time with me at the beach!
Great finds great trip 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
Beautiful shells as always. I’m starting to learn the shells names before you say them. Thank you. I love seashells.
I watch every video every week - great job!!! I’d really love to see a date somewhere in the description of when you actually took the trip!! I try to figure it out, but I think I miss :-)
Thank you again for putting these videos out there for us to drool over!!
I don't want to give up ALL my secrets ☺️ I will tell you I typically show the videos 2-3 weeks after I've visited the shooting destination. I worry about my computer crashing, or losing power or internet or all sorts of things that can interrupt my Sunday uploads so I typically will have a few beach walks "in the can" at any time.
